LOL binge watching all your videos leaving likes all along the way living in Florida I can plant whenever I feel like ha ha Ha please be jealous!! Loving the videos!
Watching this March 22 2019! I just sowed my super hots for indoor grow only up here in Duluth. First year growing and beyond excited and very impatiently waiting my plants :D
I have been enjoying these videos the last couple of days. I am also a pepper enthusiast in USDA zone 4. (The northern Adirondack mountains in NY) I've started some aji chaparitas & Carolina reapers so far. I'm looking forward to my seed orders to come in from a few different companies to really get going. Thank you for putting out all of this information - it certainly helps me in my own little "hot pepper growing bubble!" =)
I have had great success with topping. I have a Carolina Reaper plant that is about a year old now and I topped it about a couple months ago and it is putting out a lot of buds! The first flower should open up this week. I am enjoying following your journey!
I absolutely love your channel, Rob. just watched all your videos and I look forward to next Wednesday's. I'm in a similar situation, I've got about 100 or so young pepper plants in my basement under the lights. Looking forward to getting them in my garden!!!
Australia, NSW Mid North coast. Sow mid June, plant out mid August. But generally can grow all year round (I hear). Have only just moved north (warmer) from south (cooler) this year.
I'm growing the "not very hot" peppers that have the slow growth characteristics of the hot ones. Peppers like Aji Dulce #2, Aji Mango, Aji Crystal, etc. I got a late start by planting about March 14th. I'm 25 miles north of Brainerd, MN so my season is always short. This will be my 3rd year going these, but my 1st year to try topping some of them. Rob, try using some fresh Mango in next batch of pepper sauce that you make. It's a favorite addition for me.
Thanks Dick! Fresh mango is great in hot sauce. We did an episode recently about the hot sauce kit and the recipe called for fresh mango. It was delicious!
I live in germany and the plants are save outside when it is mid may. I last year I started c.pubescens and c.chinense on 1st January. I think it was a little to early because the plants were too big for their pods when they were inside. So I think this time I will only start the rocotos on 1st January and chinense maybe 15th-30th January. And c.annuum is planed for 1st March and that worked out perfect last year.

Thanks for following! I definitely believe that topping is the way to go, but it's going to be nerve-wracking the first time.

Good luck on your growing season! While yours is starting, ours is winding down.

I started some in January this year and they got too big. I usually start most of them in early February.
Rob, when do you start super hots
I started my seeds on February 6 this year. Always shoot for the first week of Feb.
Can peppers fruit indoors?
Definitely. Lots of people grow peppers indoors under lights, both in soil and hydroponically!
I can plant any day all year round, we only have raining season
That would be nice, but I'm not sure I would trade it for our four seasons. I could do with a little less below zero weather. ❄️
