Yes, you summarized why I always liked Chris' quiet intense instruction. He brings a lot more to the 'why' of each process and makes the video more interesting versus entertaining for a Brad video. At first it was hard to get the feel of when they were done but once you get into it you’re flying! I did use less coconut oil and upped the chocolate. Didn’t have the ingredients to make the crunchy topping and that’s what this needed. One of the girls on my floor almost cried she was so happy! She has a gluten allergy and she loved these.

The whole buckwheat is the only thing that I'm not sure I could find at any ol supermarket. And for that, I'd just have to go to the health food store or supermarket with a bigger health aisle. :)
When I bought "fancy flour" like spelt or buckwheat, flax seeds etc. for the first time a few years ago, I didn't think I'd use it much. But since, I've found many recipes and use them a lot. I think it's great that they sometimes introduce us to rather unusual ingredients. :)

Sunday was waffle day in our house until I discovered I was gluten intolerant (the real kind)... I have since crossed them off my list, but these look great!... Of course, I need to try them... but you might have revived a tradition! thanks!!

Haven't been able to eat pancakes or waffles for three years because of gluten sensitivity related to hashimoto's thyroiditis. This is so awesome to have a chocolate waffle made of buckwheat. So hyped up right now about having waffles again. Thank you! 👏👐👏👐👏👐👏💗

+1 on the thyme leaves thing. it's fine if you have a tough, woody stalk, but otherwise it is a total pain.

It’s his voice, mannerisms, his excessive use of the word “like” even as a middle-aged man, and the fact that he used to work in the fashion industry haha

Just leaving this down here in case anyones interested. There is a way to chop chocolate nearly completely mess free: Lay down a piece of papertowel and chop your chocolate on top of it. No molten chocolate on your cutting board and you even get the tiniest shards without even having to touch the chocolate ^^

Sprout buckwheat before roasting it to make it easier to digest. It can sit heavy on the stomach if you don't.
