Here is your answer:- Marilyn McCoo is married to fellow 5th Dimension bandmate Billy Davis Jr. On July 26, 2019, they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.
Wonderful!
Wish them long life and good health! 😊
If you don't already realize it, your built in audience of "boomers" is enjoying your discovery and appreciation of the music of our time. The 50's, 60's, and 70's produced some of the best music. The one thing most everyone recognizes and longs for is...nostalgia. We covet the feeling/memories of our past thru music. As you progress thru the years and decades, you may come to realize that also. So many of us out here in internet land who now longer get out as much are living somewhat vicariously thru your discoveries and appreciations....Peace to you both
Well said , this is true!
Boomers? Mostly Gen X'ers I would think.
It’s great to see these whippersnappers have their minds blown by the music we grew up with!!
I agree.... there is something very heart warming to see younger folks discover and experience great music from an era long gone by,....especially considering the music of the current times- and I'm sorry for saying this, hope I'm not showing my " you kids get off my lawn" attitude here, but current day music lacks the magic that it once contained.
And for the record, although I'm almost 60 now...I'd consider myself less a 'boomer' per se, more a 'rattler'...just because of how my bones sound when I try to walk...lol 😆
@@Ilikeryche Gen Xer here.
When you spend 53 years of your life with the same person you are more than a Star!!!!!
My Wife were to
gather 58 year she passed 4 years today
Captain & Tenille "Love Will Keep Us Together". Husband and Wife duo. R.I.P. Captain ❤️
McCoo and Davis will celebrate their 53rd wedding anniversary in July! Also, let me suggest Moonlight Feels Right by Starbuck because it has some of the same jazzy instrumentation. Try it.
Yes, not sure if it’s a xylophone or marimba solo, but it is definitely one of the most unique solos I’ve ever heard in a song.
Moonlight Feels Right reminds me of my AM radio listening days!
Oh God yes moonlight feels right
Agree I keep asking them to review it! It's a marimba!!
growing up, i had a red 8 track w/ this song, and the very next song on it was Moonlight Feels Right by Starbuck...then i think Peter Brown's "Do You Wanna Get Funky". wow, memories!
I used to be so in love with Marilyn McCoo. Marilyn McCoo and The 5th Dimension have a song called Wedding Bell Blues. She sings about asking Bill when he's going to marry her. I used to replace Bill's name with Dave. When will you marry me Dave.
Marilyn McCoo is one of the most gorgeous and talented woman on the planet.
Marilyn McCoo will always be one of the most beautiful ladies I have ever seen!!!😍😍😍😍😍😘😘😘😘👍👍👍👍👍👍
Marilyn Mc coo is still beautiful.
This song is by the husband & wife duo who used to be in the group The 5th Dimension. They were married in 1969 & are still together. They had a great solo career together & this song was a big hit for them. Love their voices together. "Your Love" was another hit for them in 1977.
Ahh, I didn't make the connection but they looked so familiar. Yeah. Thanks for that tidbit. :)
So happy to see that they are still happily married after 50+ years. Loved the 5th dimension. God bless them both.
,,,Loves lines, angels rhyme
Marilyn is 78 Billy is 83 married 50 + years ♥️
Marilynn McCoo is one of the most beautiful women and still is. Her voice is incredible as is Billy Davis Jr's. Awesome they are still married after all these year.
Marilyn and Billy are so nice and still perform together. Marilyn is still very good looking
Peaches and Herb is another great vocal duo you should look into. Their songs includes: Reunited, We've Got Love, Shake Your Groove Thing, For Your Love and I Pledge My Love, just to name a few.
I love Peaches and Herb! Great suggestion!
Note: same Herb, different Peaches through the years.
@@Quartermaster323 Also Captain and Tennille
Yes, there has been a lot of Peaches throughout the years; however, it wouldn't be a Herb without those Peaches. And the music is still the same.
@@stscypollard2376 think about it there would be no group without Herb or there wouldn't been so many Peaches.
I loved watching her as hostess on Solid Gold, and also when Dion Warwick hosted it. Beautiful ladies both
Marilyn McCoo is married to fellow 5th Dimension bandmate Billy Davis Jr. On July 26, 2022, they will celebrate their 53rd wedding anniversary. The couple shared their story of love and faith in the 2004 book, Up, Up and Away. They continue to perform together in venues around the country. McCoo is a member of Sigma Gamma Rho sorority. She is an emerita member of the board of directors of the Los Angeles Mission. McCoo and Davis are born-again Christians.
Marilyn McCoo hosted "Solid Gold" on and off for a good deal of the 80's, so many of us saw her every week. She sang on each show, as well. She was, and somehow still is, a gorgeous woman and a great singer.
Yes I believe she hosted it with Andy Gibb.
Oh yes, bet you they will love this duo as well, a definite must!!
Oh dayem, I thought I'd recognised her from somewhere else as well. That's awesome, thanks for that.
2024 they are both still alive and happily married.
They have been asked the ‘secret’ to their long marriage. Immediately, they said the other person is also their ‘Best Friend’.
53 years married🥰 Listen to Wedding Bell Blues! Marilyn singing to her man!!
Marilyn McCoo's voice was just magic. So underrated.
Since 1969, McCoo has been married to singer Billy Davis Jr., the founder and co-member of the 5th Dimension. She has a three-octave vocal range. They still together ❤❤❤❤
And they are still married after 50 years!
My sister says she sees them about once a month at work and they are very sweet people and Marilyn is still gorgeous.
Marilyn McCoo met Billy Davis Jr. in 1965 when Billy was asked to join McCoo's singing group The Versailles, soon renamed The Fifth Dimension. The Fifth Dimension went on to major commercial success and by 1968 Marilyn and Billy had become romantically involved. They were married in 1969 not long before their group recorded and released "Wedding Bell Blues." This was one of The Fifth Dimension's biggest hits where McCoo asks Davis if he's ever going to marry her. They are still together today after 50+ years of marriage.
Jordan and Amber: "They're such a cute couple." "They're adorable!"
Marilyn and Billy are the second-most adorable couple on the screen.
💯
Billy and Marilyn will be married 54 years this July. You guys are OUR present day Marilyn and Billy.
Another great song from a husband and wife team was "Solid As A Rock" by Ashford and Simpson from 1984.
And Found a Cure. They were primarily a songwriting team and wrote hits for a lot of Motown artists but they had a few hits of their own.
Don't forget the Sonny and Cher duets.
Omg, love, love, LOVE Solid as a Rock!!!
Ashford and Simpsons best duet -Is it Still Good to Ya?
They wrote most of the Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrel duets.
They were awesome and beautiful!! They are still together today!! She is a very gorgeous woman. They both had awesome voices!!❤❤❤❤
They’re still happily married. 🤩🥰
Marilyn was a ‘living doll’. Still is.
Her looks and voice matched.
This might be the most quintessentially 1970s sound ever. Marilyn McCoo was such a foxxx and the voice of an angel.
They're such a beautiful couple...BUT DANG, Billy is one LUCKY fella. Imagine having Marilyn McCoo by your side for over 50+ years AND still going strong, WOW!!
They are 81 and 86...married 53 yrs..and still performing
They were both part of the 5th Dimension.
Yes they are still together, 53 years in July.
I’ve said before, and I have no problem repeating myself, we baby boomers were blessed to grow up with, and during the greatest 25 years, 1955-1980, of music production in the history of the world!
Marilyn and Billy are still married. She is 68 yrs old now and Billy is 83yrs old. They truly are a SUPER couple. Check out the song Wedding Bell Blues
M arilyn McCoo and Billy Davis, Jr. have what so many people are searching for, a love that has stood the test of time. Even now 50 years later, they are still very much in love with one another and have an enviable formula for their lasting romance that they share with us.
Pure talent beatifull voices
They are still together for almost 53 years! They were the best and still are!
According to Wikipedia, this song was written by James Anthony Dean and John Glover. Marilyn McCoo and Billy Davis, Jr. won a Grammy Award for this song for "Best R & B Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocals" in 1977. Marilyn McCoo is 78 years old, and Billy Davis, Jr. is 83 years old.
Billy Davis Jr were both in the 5th Deminsion group then married a few years later. I went to Las Vegas to see the 5th Deminsion and while performing Marilyn Mc Coo came off stage to shake hands with people in the audience and she came to our table in the corner to shake hands with our group when she reaches across the table to shake my hand but didn't let go, she said to me were going to dance the funky chicken on stage at the Riviera Hotel with full house of people ❤
Fifty-three years later, McCoo and Davis are still together.
Jay open 👀 your eyes during a video, you miss so much. They're still together. I don't think they were known as songwriters so I don't think they wrote this. But I think this song was written for them
Yes! You’re listening to this classic!!!! You’re gonna love it!!!!
They've actually been married for 53 years, Billy is a prostate cancer survivor and advocate of its awareness
I remember watching Marilyn every week on Solid Gold
Some one once told me that the sound track to your life could be found by picking the no#1 song from each year of your life. Cool huh? I was born in 1962.
This was a great tune not only for their talented vocals and the story of their happy and long-lived marriage, but let's also give credit to hall of famer James Jamerson setting the groove perfectly on bass. The density of talent is so thick, it had to be a huge hit. I was 3 or 4 when I heard it often in my parent's car and loved it at an early age!
When they were with the Fifth Dimension, Marilyn sang "Wedding Bell Blues"--you reacted to Laura Nyro's original version a few weeks ago. The song was perfect because she was singing to "Bill"(y) Davis Jr. in 1969--the same year they got married.
Yeh, in that song she sang "Bill!" lol. Come on Bill, don;t mess around, marry me, quit stalling.
Please react to it soon.
"Bill! I love you so, I always will...." 😄 Does sound right, doesn't it?
They used that song in a Designing Women episode when Charlene was marrying Bill.
Marilyn and Billy what a sweet rock and roll marriage--goregeos song
Marilyn Mc Coo & Billy Davis Jr were both in the Fith Deminsion And there still together happily married. I even had the honor to dance with Marilyn Mc Coo on stage on stage at the Riviera Hotel 🙂👍
.Her voice is so beautiful
No bs, just talent!
I love Marilyn McCoo!
Yes, married in 1969 and still going strong. You need to listen to Marilyn's song to Billy "Wedding Bell Blues" In 2021, they put out a new CD of Beatle covers.
Yeah. Gotta do Wedding Bell Blues
What was that album called? I want to hear it!
Laura Nyro wrote that?
You need to do more Fifth Dimension. I can never get enough of Marilyn's voice!
Still married to each other and still making music.....I love their music...
Still together and still singing.
This song is definitely disco. Theyre so lovely together. You need to hear the song from before they were married. It's so sweet called Marry Me Bill. 🥰
Everyone loved Marilyn
Happy 53rd anniversary to Marilyn and Billy,Jr.!
Sweetest song, sweetest couple. Can't add anything else.
# 1 on the hit parade only 4 years after my High School graduation.
not sure you remember "let the sun shine" they are part of that group.....many hits!
Marilyn McCoo is a goddess.
She is 78 and he is 83, married in 1969, and still together ❤️ Love this song, and will be singing it for days (thank you)
Don’t you remember them in Aquarius and let the sunshine in? ☮️💜
MARYLIN McCOO
one less bell to answer 🎤
Love The 5th Dimension. Marilyn has a gorgeous voice!
Now You know what it was like to grow in the 60,s and 70,s with this kind of music....
I remember watching Solid Gold with the lovely host Marilyn McCoo
"They are such a CUTE COUPLE". Kinda sorta what we've been saying all along about you two.
these two were always a class act. He was always accounted as a good guy and she was straight up beautiful.
Marilyn McCoo is still one of the most beautiful women I’ve seen. I had a huge crush on her in 1967, when she was with The Fifth Dimension.
They are singing to each other, One of my all-time favorite songs !!,, Papa Ray
I love these two! She’s so stunning, and he’s so handsome….so happy they are still together.
With You Im Born Again- Billy Preston and Syreeta
We did Steppin’ to this music. Billy and Marilyn are beautiful people. They believed God bonded their love 💕
Billy Davis is one of the most underrated singers in the business.
Marylin just oozed class.
Its like those words came straight from their hearts.Yes they are still happily together and married for more than 50 years.
To give some context on when this came out, this song was a hit a few months before the first "Star Wars" movie arrived in theaters.
Who wouldn't look at Marilyn McCoo like that, she's Gorgeous!
And yes they are still together after 55 years
Not only are Marilyn and Billy still together after 53 years of marriage but I saw them in concert in March and they still sing this song with the same magic. Their love story is the best!
Music of my youth!! it brings back so many memories!! it is timeless!!!
Truly a lovely couple that's been married over 50 years.
🎉🎉🎉
Great Music Great Times
Still together strong as the first day they met genuine real love👍👍
Speaking of couples in love, Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash.
Yes...still married. 55th anniversary this year for Billy and Marilyn. Always loved this duo after the fab 5th Dimension..🎶🎤
Love hearing these songs that I have forgotten about. They're like photographs as they bring back memories.
They're looking at each other the way you guys look at each other
love them!!! They are still together some 50 years later!!!
Marilyn had a beautiful voice and she was gorgeous. Black kids today have no idea how great their music was in the 70s. Marvin Gaye, Barry White, Gladys Knight, Donna Summer, Temptations, 4 tops, Stylistics, Manhattans, Harold Melvin (Teddy Pendergras), Al Wilson, Stevie Wonder, Jacksons, Sly Stone, EW&F (look it up), Diana Ross, it goes on and on..
Billy hit the Lottery!
This song transports me back to 1977. Love it.
i always had a major crush for Marilyn. as a young boy of course
I'm sure you two are going to love this. How can you not.
I love watching these 2 young people's reaction to these back in the day songs. 😊
Johnny Mathis and Denice Williams….Too Much Too Little Too Late..is another great duet from around the same timeline.
