My wife wanted a blanket ladder,(I had never heard of it) but this is exactly what I had in mind. This is one of the cleanest designs. Great looking ladder.
Nicely done, informative and more importantly entertaining too...I've learned the 'consult with the wife first technique'...only took 22 years to learn.
Kent you are hilarious your humor is truly unexpected. I stumbled on your channel and I'm hooked because i cant wait to hear what humorous truths will come out your mouth. I'm still laughing about the wife not going to like it but you did it anyway so you had to sand it down hahahahahahaha . Jason your a good friend and your as funny as Kent and I hope OSHA doesn't visit your shop because all that safety crap is for the birds. Im 60 years old and a widow and i try now to do all things on my own and your videos im sure will help me do lil things . MY REQUEST IS CAN YOU DO A SHOW ON HOW TO DO THE FLOOR MOLDING ? THE MITERING THOSES CORNERS JAZZ IM LOST. I DONT WANT TO BUY FANCY MOLDING I WANT TO TAKE BARN WOOD SLATS AND FRAME AROUND A BOOK SHELF I MADE AS A KITCHEN DIVIDER. ANY WHO I HOPE YA GET MY MEAN. THANKS GUYS FOR YOUR HELP.
We'll work on it. Trying to get back into the shop soon, both just busy with life and our real jobs, but comments like this make us want to keep this going. Thanks :)
@@Studio-ge8qd lol Oh I know exactly what you’re saying my football/soccer team is Blackpool FC (3rd tier of English football). Hence the tangerine connection with the Oilers. We are looking good for the playoffs with a chance to reach the dizzy heights of the Championship. So good luck to both camps 👍
Thx good vid! Funny about forgetting the glasses - I do that too. Also, you can mark the bit for depth so you don't have to keep measuring - or do both to be sure.
For others, you can mark 3/4" of depth ON your drill bit (just draw a line on all sides), so you know when to stop (you can use a metalic silver sharpie, or red). Its quicker instead of constantly stopping to measure. (You can also take the sharpie off later with a little acetone).
Quick question in regards to drilling the holes, would a forstner bit work better or even a drill press with the stop set at the correct depth, you did great with the paddle bit though, thanks
@@Studio-ge8qd you guys rock, i just made all the cuts and sanded i did use a forstner bit and used my miter saw for the second cut which was 22 degrees great video, thanks
🤔 do u think this will work as a plant hanger? I have 16 plants I usually hang on the hooks in the wall in my laundry room....but they touch the windows or wall since the hooks don’t come out away from the wood far enough....so I saw this truck to hang a ladder from the ceiling and then hang the plants from the round rungs! Problem is that I didn’t want to spend $300 for a 12 rung ladder. I want it to be even 16 rung so it would center in the room across my windows there. If I used this pattern and just enlarged it.....is it strong enough to hang all those plants from? It’s just me and I’m no builder....I can get the wood cut so that I only have to assemble it....I just need to know it’s not going to crash to the floor mid winter and kill my plant babies lol.
It will be strong enough, but 16 rungs is going to make it really long, which might make it not be strong enough. Would likely need to use at least 2x6
hahaha my thoughts exactly-but I did buy 3 4ft dowels because I figured it out in the store-also, I saw another persons instructions and she put the bottom rung 18” from the floor and the top rung was 6” down from the top (12in apart) -so I will be incorparating that idea into this ladder. I have never made anything before-hubby has all the tools-so I am going for it-great video to inspire me-you guys made it look easy and fun👍THANK YOU
Ok, the bottom rung is so close to the floor, what are you going to hang on it without dragging on the floor? Otherwise , you’re on your way to makin blanket ladders!
Nothing, but it would look pretty unlike a ladder with a rung missing! This isn't supposed to be blanket storage turned ladder, but a ladder turned blanket storage. Thus, it should look like a ladder 🙃
I wasted so much wood messing with angles and these dudes teach a great method in 5 seconds. Kudos
Finally how to get your angles in about 10 seconds. Rock on
Competed mine today, great DIY video. Made it 21” wide, and have no idea what the angle is 😂😂

going to try to make this ladder. Great video!
Honestly, I like the round ladder rungs with the dowell more than other pages' 2x4 or 2x3 rungs. Nice video guys.
John D thanks Jon. Credit Jason for the idea. I liked how it worked out and it’s so easy.
Well this was fantastic. I giggled the e tire tutorial but will be using your instructions 🤣Thank you!
Love this shit..As an Oilers alumni I love how you are repping the Oil..

This was super funny! I loved it!
Glad you enjoyed it
Great video!
Thanks Andres.
I love it. Your explanations easy. Thank you.
Great Vid guys really enjoyed the comedy. Get your Coors in for the playp offs. Go Oilers (from the UK)

Good advice. We were going to do that and then got lazy and just eyeballed it. If you want stuff to be perfect, never follow our instructions

What color stain was used?

Haha, sure. Oh yeah I’m amazing with the glue
How did they get five 17.5” rungs out of two 48” dowels? 🤔
Love the video though! Making mine right now...hence the rung question. Haha
That's a good question. We must have used our board stretcher. I possibly didn't remember how much we used when I made the list.

Hey! Jason wasn't wearing safety goggles, when he was applying the glue. For shame. (damn safety police) :)
I am cracking up!!! I'm going to play the moral of the story to my pain in the ass love of my life. "ALWAYS listen to your wife." 🤣🤣🤣
Haha, happy to provide some laughs.
To mark the 3/4”. Just a suggestion.
Use a Forstner bit...
Solid vid thank you, oilers suck

The things we do for our wives.
Is anyone else confused how they have 5 bars but only cut 2 4 ft dowels in half?
Put some tape on your bit.
Love the work but damn! So monotone!!!!
moral of the story i would tell my wife that this is the way is going to be. period.
You are crazy!! We would never risk that.
