    I didn't like All the Unnecessary Information "Fluf" about The Jeeps. Not Having Solar Yet, Your friend jeep noob handle We Dont Need all that Self Promotion blah blah blah stick to the device.

    IMHO yes! Better and safer battery chemistry. Jackery 500 charges to 100%, Bluetti 2,500! More versatile too. I have the EB70 and love it. The car charger is SUPPOSED to work that way. The car needs to be running. It's NORMAL for it to behave that way. Nothing wrong with the Bluetti. Trying to charge it without the car running will deplete your car battery naturally.

      I would agree the wattages should be lower with lower voltage from the battery vs alternator, but even Bluetti called this charging behavior abnormal when I contacted them.

      Get a 10 amp 240w 12v to 24v converter.... about $20.
      Alligator clip directly to battery.....should give you about 160 watts from your car battery with your car running.

    That seems very odd that not being able to charge a battery pack when your vehicle is off is what kills the product for you. Isn’t that the point of the battery pack? To power all the things your jeep powers when it’s off?

    • @RhinoOffroad
      @RhinoOffroad  Год назад +1

      Unfortunately the rate at which I discharge the battery during multi day trips requires topping off the battery from my Jeep, so it's definitely relevant how quickly I can recharge it from my 12V battery

    Your issue with charging might be due to using the factory wiring & voltage droop due to the length & gauge of the wire
    I ran my own wires & have no issue with a 7 year old yellow top charging my eb70

    • @RhinoOffroad
      @RhinoOffroad  3 года назад +1

      That's a really good possibility, but I did test the voltage and it was only .01 lower at the rear of the Jeep then straight from the battery 🤷

    Pretty good comparison of the AC50 and the Jackery 500. I had the same predicament when choosing a 500W power station. I ended up getting the River Pro. Charges faster and has a lot more power compared to those two.

    Why would you return a great solar generator? Hint Hint the words"SOLAR GENERATOR!" I have the Bluetti AC50S with a 120w solar panel and the unit charges fast with great sun light and will still charge with average sun light but slower. I leave my unit plugged into the solar panel during full sun while running my BougeRV 53qt 12v Compressor Fridge Freezer Refrigerator with no issues.

    • @RhinoOffroad
      @RhinoOffroad  2 года назад +1

      It's marketed as a "portable power station", and I rely heavily on 12V DC from my car to keep it charged while traveling. I've had the EB55 essentially since I released this video, and think it's a much better but than the AC50 to be honest.

      @@RhinoOffroad Why rely on your vehicle battery? Just asking! The sun is free when shining. Why take the chance of damaging or draining your car battery! Please understand that I am not being a "PITA" you did an awesome video. Just that with a solar panel you have more options to also recharge other devices with the proper cables. I am just offering options to you. Great video and blessings to you.

    • @RhinoOffroad

      Nope no problem at all! I have a 100W solar panel I can use when I stop, but when I'm traveling all day I am forced to use the car battery. I actually have an upgrade installed I'll feature in a future video (12v-24v up converter) which has made this a very efficient operation. I charge the EB55 now from my car at 200W. I love the idea of solar only, but it's just not practical unfortunately with how much I'm driving between campsites. Hope this helps!
