    This is honestly my favorite style of video you’ve done. Rhino Offroad x Coyote Works. This was done so well, a great edit, camera work, pace, transitions. Just awesome. 👏🏼 Possibly my favorite video you’ve done, yep, I think it is. 👊🏼🤩🙏🏼

    Great video Kevin! I love the history these mines preserve and the hard work it must have taken to do the work required for the processing of the ore. Great drone shots and really interesting how they covered the town up with tailings, seems strange doesnt it? Love seeing the photos from the book and comparing to modern day!

      And I agree it does seem strange. I just can't explain the hills new since the picture was taken and the dirt being all tailings gravel.

    In the 70s and 80s I spent lots of time wandering Nevada I had topographical maps of the entire State and some of Utah and some of Idaho I still want to wonder in the desert because of age and poor health I cannot go for as long as I like I would have dec,jan and feb off from my work and usually spend 2or 3 weeks exploring snowed in a few times did most of my exploring in the 70s 80s and 90s miss dearly cane only do short trips no now it was nothing that people used to do back then there were very few people out wandering the desert I would be out for 2 weeks at a time never see another person unless I would go into town purposely to get gas or food there was no GPS back then and I had topographical maps I went to the US Geological Survey in Menlo Park California and bought all their maps for Nevada most Idaho's and Eastern Oregon along with a few for Utah but I spent 90% of my time in Nevada I have GPS now but I prefer using topographical maps I'm envious of your travels if not a little bit jealous thank you for making these videos appreciated they bring back some good memories

    I think the concrete and stanchions could be the foundation to an old head frame for the mineshaft.

    15-year-old pick-up truck, camper shell, one burner propane stove, coffee pot, frying pan, ice chest, food - paradise. No gopro, no gps, just heading down a dirt road, willing to be bored, willing to be scared, willing to be surprised.

    Just curious what route you took up to the townsite as the road through Wonder wash was rutted out about four feet deep last summer after the storms came through. Also, I’m guessing you are stationed at NAS Fallon?

    • @RhinoOffroad
      @RhinoOffroad  9 месяцев назад

      I was able to finally make it through the southern entrance. Both roads were pretty washed out though. If you watch the first video you can see where I had to turn around. Not stationed but was there for training

      @@RhinoOffroad I’ll have to check out the first video…just stumbled across this video in my feed. I’ve been going out to DV for the last 30 years ever since an EOD buddy who was stationed at Fallon showed it to me. It was even more interesting back then. All of the old cars and trucks that were scattered all over the valley are long gone. Still love that area though.

      @@RhinoOffroad Nope, haven't been to VIctor but a buddy of mine lives out that way and I think we are heading out there in the spring.
      DV was amazing 20-30 years ago. It's still a great place but nothing like it once was.

      Yeah I think you're right. I also have to imagine people bought claims and tried to mine it well after the town was gone
