Well you’re absolutely right we should give all our children . Basic skills communication. You Will be very surprised how well they comprehend kids are truly amazing🙏🏾❤️👩🏽 and may God bless that Little girl and her family👌🏿✊🏿
The kid was smart and intelligent and that’s wonderful. I loved the lady who kept the child busy on the phone. I think she should be rewarded for being so good, kind and smart and handling the situation exceptionally well. Congratulations 🎊🍾🎈 young lady. You were great. 🤙♥️
The Australian helpline that is working is all privately funded. Many should have been trained in the help line than police and inform line. Those Kids are going to be the leaders of your children.
These emergency responders have nerves of steel. I would have been DONE after this call. Just watching it unfold had me shaking and nervous and freaking out. That little girl did so good and was so brave.
UK. 7 year -old girl. A member of the St John Ambulance (badgers) for 7 to 11 years. Saved Mum's life after she fell in the kitchen unconscious. She checked pulse and breathing. Gave to 2 lungfuls of air. Called neighbor to render assistance for CPR. As not strong enough to do the compressions herself. Called ambulance. Saved Mum's life.
What a good clever girl you are Jasmine. That's why your mummy is a well again now, cos you did all the right things in getting help for her, and the ambulance knew just what to do when you told them about your mummy. Good girl, well done.
working as an emergency call dispatcher myself, here in germany, i had gone through such calls too. this woman is obviously highly trained and handled the whole call from start to the end absolutely perfect. total respect from a colleage!
What a brave & courageous young girl! She was so articulate on the phone too. This just highlights it’s never too soon to teach your children what to do in an emergency. She deserved every bit of the recognition she received! I’m so glad the mother made a full recovery x
My daughters are 6 and 4 and they both know the address, the code to the key safe and first aid for my epilepsy. So far they’ve never needed to use it as my wife has been present
Oh my goodness, what an amazingly wonderful child and what a wonderful expression on the face of that dear dispatch woman! In these times sometimes it seem so hard to find the good in people, but it's still there and this proves it! Thank you for sharing this with the world, things like this restore faith and hope!
It’s heartbreaking that this had to happen. I’m so thankful the mother recovered. Thank god! Also, you are such a smart little girl Jasmine. Your mother is still alive because of your help. You are so brave, keep it up!
She was amazing and the operator was awsome, sometimes I listen to some calls to emergency and the operator has zero empathy. It really upsets me, especially when is a kid who is asking for help
What a beautiful result! You did an excellent job Jasmine. You are a brilliant girl! I'm touched and this big aunty cried, and then smiled.😊 Wishing mummy and you the very best. May you both enjoy long life and excellent health. You remember this when you get older and any time you face challenges. Remember how brilliant you are.
That right there is why I could never be a call handler. I’m a hands on kinda feller, I could stand in front of a person twice my size making threats while high, drunk & psychotic while I remain calm, but this rips me apart. I have So Much Respect for the call handlers.
I’m epileptic, from the age of 2 my daughters have known the address, phone number and even know how to ring for help. My 5 year old daughter has saved my life, after a seizure and I fell down the stairs. If she hadn’t of known what to do aged 3 then. I’d have died, so thanks to her I’m still here
My father used to work as an EMD for GMRTT (Global Medical Response of Trinidad and Tobago) and he'd always come back home with some wild story. One day he said that most grown adults could spend 50 years living at the same house and address and would stutter or can't even say their exact address 😂
You take a call like that, deal with it all and at the end of the clip you see her putting the headset back on ready for the next call. That's the reality of the job.
Never too early to teach them how to phone 999/911, & to start teaching them what to do in an emergency (going next door / your address / giving a trusted neighbour / friend / family member a spare key & having your eldest phone them etc) xx
@@MelanieWeed77 That’s fantastic! I grew up on a farm so I was quite isolated, I knew my full home address & home number by the time I was 5, just in case of any emergencies. I ended up using it when I was 11, as we’d been burgled 😔 but I taught all of my nieces / nephew their addresses & numbers - you wouldn’t believe they’re 17 & 19 year olds now.. & my nephew is into his second year in the army! Where did the time go?!! I wasn’t blessed to have earthly children of my own, my nieces / nephew are the closest I’ll ever get & they know I’m a mother hen to them (& they love it lol), but boy! It only felt like yesterday they were born!! Your granddaughter sounds like such a beautiful blessing 🥰 thank you for teaching her what to do in an emergency, it’s just peace of mind for everyone isnt it? Xx
You can teach your kids for sure but you can also do other things like wearing a smart watch that can detect falls. My apple watch will call 999 if it detects I've fallen and I don't respond. There are also buttons you can wear on a lanyard around your neck that can call a central call centre if you need help you press the button. Maybe speak with your doctor about your options.
After the call, especially when you're new, don't be afraid to tell your supervisor that you need a break to compose yourself. You might take 1000 calls and be okay but one call will come in and you'll need to go for a walk, grab a drink and just breathe. We've all been there.
Good thing that she only had to dial the three digits. Too many US systems require a fourth digit to get an outside line, which even causes trouble for adults.

So I guess 999 is the same as 911 in Canada? I should know this, as I grew up almost entirely on BBC programming, but I’d hate to see this scenario played out in America. The healthcare system is awful, but and the education system is just as bad, so the chances of a kid being this resourceful and intelligent is unlikely. I don’t even think many Canadian kids could do this.
Chris Thornycroft. Yes it is same. You would be surprized at how amazingly resourceful and intelligent these young ones can be. She obviously had been taught Emergency Safety Skills ahead of time. Every child should be; For their benefit and that of others. Doesn't take much effort to do so.
What has the Canadian educational system have to do with a child’s resilience & intelligence in phoning for help? It’s usually taught my their parents &/or guardian, or learnt through children’s shows in subtle forms. And as much as you may have had a poor experience in the educational system in Canada where you live, you can’t really tar all with the same brush, much like here in the UK.

That’s because all parents should teach their children as the parents of this little girl did. Life has unexpected changes👍🏾

I could watch this over and over and not go eat tired of it
Emergency agent is highly professional and well decorated she was able to make the girl feel safe and explain the situation. 🌷

So brave. I’m a primary school teacher and I always insist my pupils learn their address. 🤎
Yeah, I thinks it's also important for them to know that the emergency number is 999 in the UK and 911 in the USA ❤
