The parts in my gearbox for my golden eagle amd 65 look exactly the same to this one, if you want a ball bearing spring guide in the future the ZCI QD ball bearing works really well for me :) love the video and how you actually disassemble most guns compared to a lot of other reviewers

It’s based on the MCR FightlIght, which is self was a newer version of the older Ares Industries Shrike. One obvious difference is the gas tube running alongside the barrel unlike the Shrike where it was below the barrel. They are basically the same gun.
Pheas Airsoft more info for you this is the third or fourth Airsoft version. HurricanE where first with there excellent AR based kit ( one of which I have ) around the year 2000. A few years ago Krytac launched and where showing four at Sot Show ( long, short, tan long and tan Short. ). Only the regular long black made it to production as far as I’m aware. They where still Ares Shrike based with the gas tube below the barrel, they also featured there own design keymod forend. Jump to present day and. G & G have the polymer version of the MCR FightlIght which they call the CM16 LMG and Golden Eagle have this metal version of the FightlIght.

Hello, the upper will need to come off, then the full gearbox needs to come out and stripped open...UNLESS, I have heard rumours that the new ones have the newer quick change spring system in them, so you might only need to lift the gearbox out, not open it, to access the quick change and put it back in again. If you look at the back of the gearbox, it will either be small hole (which is not quick change) or a bigger bolt looking thing which is the quick change. Pheas
Hello. If there is a problem with the gearbox then the fuse will pop to stop you causing damage to your battery / wiring or further breaking the internals. Pheas
Hello! I couldn't say for certain at much much higher rates of fire, but we have near 30 rounds per second out of it before with a motor upgrade and 11.1v and the box mag kept up with that alright. Hope that helps. Pheas
@@PheasAirsoft Another question. If you set the box mag to "auto" when winding will it stop once there is tension or keep going until it strips itself?
reason being I really want a shrike and don't know whether to choose between G&Gs CM16 LMG or The golden eagle MCR. The golden eagle seems like a nicer gun but the G&G has a really nice box mag with a tension sensor instead of sound control. From what I've heard its extremely reliable. People keep suggesting I look at the Krytac but I can get the golden eagle or G&G for around $450-$500 Canadian where as the Krytac is nearly $900 Canadian
@@incognito1559 hello! If it's on auto it's supposed to be used whilst sustaining you firing more or lesson continuously. If you left it on auto it's like to strip itself by keep trying to tension. Alot of them have a sound activated option on it to only wind whilst the gun is firing. Pheas
Hi, Nice video. I don't know if you remember me but I was the guy with the ronin tk45c who wanted to know if you can change the hop-up assembly, in the end, I bought the stock hop up and it works ok. I have another problem though and wanted to see if you have experienced anything like it. My gun feels like the trigger contacts have gone bad but I haven't even put that many rounds threw it and use a 30c 11.1 Lipo. not some crazy high voltage when shooting it seems to cut out.
Hiya, I do indeed remember you! What happens when you pull the trigger, what is it doing or not doing? Possibly a loose connection, or might be that the contacts have gone. I am interested to hear more! Pheas
@@PheasAirsoft So if I hold down the trigger in full auto it stops shooting at random times and in semi it feels kinda choppy and not how I remember it being stock. I dont really know how to explain it dosent feel as nice and crisp as it did before.
@@E36mike Thanks for the update. There could be a couple things going off here, so I would try the following suggestions to see if anything makes a difference: 1. Try another 11.1v battery, preferably that has been charged by someone else's charger to determine if you battery or charger might be at fault. 2. Check the connection to the motor, if you take the base plate off the pistol grip (its in my videos how to disassemble) and check the connectors are on the motor properly as it could be a loose connection. 3. Check the actual battery connection to see if it looks loose or like it might have a bad fitting. 4. swap the motor out for another one that you know works well (if its a recoil version make sure its a high torque motor of some description) to make sure your motor isn't failing. 5. If its non of those then it could be that the contacts or internal is at fault and will need to be opened up to have a look at it. Hopefully one of the first ones sorts it for you! Pheas

Hiya, the body has been rock solid, one of the guys I play with used it for the day and fell onto the gun and it was fine (he is a big guy too) the box mag has fed perfectly and we have had no issues so far as yet. The only thing we have done to ours is replace the motor as we weren't very impressed with the rate of fire of the original. Hope that helps! Pheas'

I've been teching on and off for years. I seem to just naturally find my way around them. First one I ever worked on was an Army Armament AK-47, the one that says "world's first mentally disabled rapper" on the box - worst Google translate I've ever seen lol. But it's a mix of stuff with what we get in. Some are my friends that are in the crazy buying everything stage of Airsoft and others I buy in and then sell to buy more. Do you have a email address by any chance? Reason being, you seem like a trustworthy person with a reputation to keep. I have a interest in a couple guns we cant get here in the states, all the overseas online stores that have these particular model dont ship to usa. If we were to figure up the cost of the gun and the shipping to here(me). If I paid u up front for the cost you could do a unboxing and review if you wanted and then make sure I get the gun maybe. Theres a few I really really need in my collection lol. Seems like a desperate measure but I cant think of any other way. Maybe u could wrap some orange tape around the flashier before it shipped so it would be legal to get through customs, I tried to find some way to do this privately but I couldn't find a email. All this taught me is that I can use my lower for my DD BOLT B.r.s.s mk18 so I can have recoil along with a lmg😊

Hiya, yep, if you want to keep the same branding, but generally most version 2 gearboxes should drop in, like a cyma, but JG is what is in this. Pheas

When upgrading the gun would the box mag limit fire rate capabilities, does it wind fast enough to keep up or can it sustain fast bursts of bbs?
