Which ultimately hands it back to Danny Glover, could be the same family line ( in the predator comics, the hunting parties that fly down to the planet are families or tribes).
@@Kelses thats where you're wrong, there is already a canon story as to how the gun is obtained, the gun was given to greyback in 1718 by raphael adolini after it helps him defeat his mutinous crew and in turn gives the gun to harrigan at the end of predator 2. this movie takes place in 1719 a year after greyback already has the gun but naru is given the gun by raphael who should already be dead and who was done a serious dis service in this movie as he was a great warrior and captain of a pirate ship, here he is made into a whimpering coward.
I went into this movie with an open mind and wow it didn't disappoint. Great new story for a franchise that's been around for a long time and went back to the beginning. Amber was a great actress lead for this movie. Her fight training was amazing especially with the ax and rope. Great reaction as always Omni!
Massssive props to the team behind this film. Sooo many super fun and innovative and unique ideas added into this franchise. The whole mouse/snake scene by the Predator’s feet was one of the coolest and freshest ideas I’ve seen done in this universe. And the predators weapons, the trapper’s dying in the background scene where we just see the horses riding off after, etc. it’s pretty obvious that the people in charge of creating this film had a deep passion for it and the franchise at large, and it definitely paid off.
Love this movie. I really enjoyed The Predator itself and how its technology was believably 300 years prior to the 1st movie (no plasma canon, armour less sophisticated, camo less reliable). One of my favourites of the year. Fantastic reaction, too!
Oh, and she knew the needles followed the laser sight because she saw that happen during The Predator's fight with her brother: when its faceplate was knocked off, the laser pointer was aimed at a tree and every time it fired, the needles hit the tree at the exact laser point. Fantastic way to foreshadow the trap IMO
@@DannyScottyEnty thats the thing, she knew it and the predator should have known it as it was his weapon, but he conveniently forgot that and looked at the laser and let the dart kill him. the story, acting, etc was all great but the way the predator died was just so bad and unbelievable.
“This is a gorgeous landscape.” Well this was in a time before we, as George Carlin described, turned that landscape we stole into one big transcontinental commercial cesspool 😂
The extended 1st part, notice you don't see her face, I suspect that's the stunt woman. After that, from where she moves forward to jump on the 3rd guy, that's Amber from that point on. Or it could be her, seems she taught Brazilian jiu-jitsu for a while.
What a fantastic movie. As a long time fan of the franchise myself, this was a long needed breath of fresh air it needed. I now hope future Predator films take place in different points of time. This movie definitely earn a spot in my top 3 favorite Predator movies. I'll be rewatching it in the Comanche dub for sure.
I never watched the original films, but I really liked this one, it's cool that the Predator attacks only "Predators", first the snake that attacked the mouse, then the wolf, even when the Dog brought the mouse it shows that now he is also prey for the predator
I've just watched the movie and I have to agree it was class. Very nicely filmed and easily sits 3rd place behind Predator 1 and 2, maybe even my second favourite...!!
Straight up, this was the first Predator movie I ever saw from beginning to end. I ended up thoroughly enjoying it. Amber Midthunder is a star in the making. Naru is very compelling protagonist. But, the Predator though??? The Predator though??? HOLY SHIT!!! This Predator was much more savage than any Predator I ever saw in clips. Yes, the CG is much, but I was okay with it, especially that bear. If this is what's to come for more Predator movies, I'm intrigued to see more. I was also glad to see the gun Danny Glover got at the end of Predator 2 appear in this.
This was awesome!! Loved the differences this one gave us. Different is very good! Seeing her get caught in the mud I was hoping that wasn't going to be used like in the original. It was better to use it as a trap than as camouflage. We learned from the trailer that it was "primitive" weapons going up against the arsenal it has. But as the fights progressed we saw how their weapons were more effective than we assumed. Predator vs Bear ...... tons of muscle, simply a brutal fight!! Predator vs trappers .... no contest of course! That kill by throwing the trap was oustanding!! The BEST difference is that the Predator didn't look the same! The skull/bone helmet/face plate was wicked!! Seeing another version was a good change! We've learned from Marvel and other movies to watch through the credits. I'm glad I did because I saw that they did come back but in force with more ships and Predators. That would explain how they got the gun back! Great reaction bud!! Take care!!
Greetings from Edinburgh, Scotland. This movie is set 300 years ago. So as we have progressed in 300 years so would the Predators. Their weapons here are versions 300 years older than what we have now so of course there will be a difference. The humans here fought with powder loading guns, but in modern versions higher tech weapons are used. It will be the same for them. Loving your reactions. Always my first port of call after I have watched something. Keep 'em coming
Hi from Germany. I have just finished watching the movie and for it's a very good 8.5/10. It's not 100% perfect but it's very entertaining (very creative kills & a sympatic main charactor) and fresh. After the last film i lost completely hope for the whole franchise but it seems to me they are now back on track with it.
I really think this movie absolutely slapped. The cgi animals looked bad, but who cares? That kind of thing doesn’t hold the movie back, in my opinion, it’s a small detail. The rest of the movie was incredible, I thought…especially the hand to hand combat. Every blow had weight and gravity and, thanks to how hard the movie worked to successfully establish the Comanches within the world, I believed every single blow all throughout. I also am very invested in history and appreciate how hard this movie tried to center *as much* historical accuracy as it could. The handling of the language barrier in the camp between Naaru and the French was a highlight, for me.
It’s likely been said but the flintlock pistol was first introduced in a comic that was considered official cannon for the franchise. I’m unsure if they’ll tie the comic to Prey in a future sequel, but regardless it’s a great piece of Predator lore! Also, the end credits scene shows the predator ship returning. It could be assumed that upon recovery of the dead predator they likely gave her a trophy in the form of a piece of their own tech, and she in turn gave them the flintlock pistol(as she would have no further use for it without powder or shot). This is the sequel predator fans deserved 🔥🤘🏻🔥
in an interview they confirmed that they were simply unaware of the comic when writing the film. They thought whoever owns the rights to Predator would provide them with the established lore so as not to contradict it, but they were not.
This was the first time the Predators came to earth. That might be why they did a few fly overs in the beginning This is supposed to be set up for more new movies in the franchise His helmet could've been one of his early kills on the planet Loved this film and the Comanche (pronunced kuhh man chee) version is a totally different cut of the movie!
This is not the first Predator incursion to Earth I think. If you include the lore from AVP, the Yautjas were here since ancient Egypt. But this was indeed their first time landing in American continent.
I love seeing the Predator use tech that gives off an impression of predating the tech we see the OG Predator use. Shows that The Predator race is probably still in its early days, capable of creating high tech but not quite there yet to the level we see in the Original. Or I’m reading into it too much..could just be this Predator decided to go with a different choice in tech but still I love the switch up with weaponry
Same, I kinda looked at it either Plasma cannon hasn't been made or they choose what kind of kit they can use from an armoury. Because people dont have much tech it doesnt need as much. Still cool though
Could simply Yautjas from different clans than the original films. Yautjas have different clans and not necessarily favor the same weaponry as other clans. That, or the Predator simpy picked more 'archaic' weaponry' to make the hunt more challenging.
ANY Yautja who's not "Blooded" aren't allowed to use the Plasma cannon. It's like a prize for reaching the Blooded rank. The director said it's Feral's first time on Earth. Either he's a Un-Blooded or a Young Blood (ranks before Blooded) though other clans doesn't go under Young Blood rank, they go straight to Blooded.
When i saw that first scene with the mountain shot. i did not know it was filmed not far from where i live lol i thought that was pretty cool. as a native myself throughout the movie i was wondering have the comanche ever traveled so far up north before, i don't think they have but i could be wrong. The movie was great, i really enjoyed it an i enjoyed this review. i too feared for the dog the whole movie.
Perhaps a satisfying answer to the multiple sounds of the ship at the beginning would be this - The Predator was making several passes by the area, checking for the relative level of technology and types of creatures present, to assess what level of weaponry to bring. It had a spear gun because the natives were using bows and arrows, and the fur trappers had single-shot guns. It wore no armor because the humans in the area had no armor, but it opted for a shield. The heat-seeking explodie disks seemed a bit overkill though lol.
i love this movie so much!and i'm also ready to rewatch in comanche-because i couldn't find the option the first time lol and i had a similar reaction to that background kill behind the trappers also i don't know if anybody else felt this way but i feel like this predator might've been like naru?being sent off on its first real traditional hunt?or i'm just reading too much into the parallels i don't know but yeah all the action sequence choreography was brilliant!
Predator, Predator 2, Prey and Predators. That's the best of the rest. The movie was good, exceptional for a tv movie! The Bear fight was boss, the Braves fought hard but that ending could of been better, what with the pistol and all. They must be coming back for that. I hope
I think you're incorrect about these being 'primitive' Predators. I think they do have the plasma weapons and all that available, but I think the first two passes the ship made that you mentioned, were them doing a scan for tech to decide the level of weaponry to bring on the hunt.
I was meaning more physically based on the physical traits more so. Someone had told me after watching that the director had mentioned they haven't created the castors yet, but I don't know if that's true. I haven't followed up on any interviews yet so I'm not sure how accurate that is.
@@Omn1Media the thing you said in the end how did she know that the arrows will work if you watch closely in the scene where the prededor fight the brother he knoked his mask off the laser pointed in the tree and when he shout them they made a circle and landed in the tree
On my first watch, I thought maybe they produced better weaponry and tactics as we got more deadly and smarter as well. Like the self destruct could be implemented when the natives or another nation find their technology and the predators send a more experienced (deadlyier hunter) to recover their tech. Edit: maybe favorite part was when the predator found her in the trap and left her, heard arnold's quote from the 1st " you were unarmed, no sport"
I found it really interesting how this predator somewhat tried to make it a fair fight and only ever used the same type of weapons the opponent had available. The claw against animals. The staff against the guy with a spear. Projectiles against ranged fighters. Nets and other traps against the trappers.
Keep the spread/review/hype of this movie going so we can quickly see where those ships at the end of the movie are doing in credits! Cmon Disney Also bring Dan back and more badass predatory predators
I don't think he's a primitive Predator, I just think when he was in the inventory loadout screen on his ship, he selected "full retro." Great movie, great reaction brotha
As a fan of predator films Manga etc great film I'm was very impressed n I think this is the movie that should've been made after predator 2 to complete the series Taabe is bad ass an so is the Predator ita like old but new
This movie here had a lot of call backs to these 2 movies. -Schwarzenegger line "do it, do it now" -Billy's scar. In Predator 1, the Indian Billy made the cut with the machete over his chest just before he was killed. Here the bear hunters did it with her brother. -Schwarzenegger line "if it's bleed, we can kill it" -the musket from part 2 -the well-known mud bath , used here as a false expectation for the viewers There were more, but I can't think of them. But also jurrassic Park 2 was represented here. In the field the hunting, the grass from a bird's eye view during the pursuit. Very similar to the raptor attack in Jurrassic Park 2. Our protagonist's fight against the bear hunters is very reminiscent of Mortal Kombat and Scorpion. Overall, I like this movie even a little better than Predator and that has been the best part of the series so far. Of course, the original Predator design is still the best. This variant here is not bad either. The drawings in the credits give hope for a sequel, but rather mean that this Indian was killed, because so the Predators come into possession of the muskete, which comes back in Predator 2.
I wonder if you ever noticed Ruben Blades in Predator 2. I grew up listening to his music in Puerto Rico and when I saw him in that movie I was excited, that was the first time I remember seeing him act but he had already been in other stuff. He has become one of my favorites now in Fear The Walking Dead.
Could be wrong...but if I remember correctly, I think it was the Great Plains Wichita not the Comanche that the French came in contact with in 1719. Also, I don't think there is any record of French mass slaughtering buffalo in the 1700s. Concerning tribal women in combat. Women were allowed to fight in Plains tribes and were also elevated to war chiefs for their achievements. The funniest part of the movie was when the young huntress was treed by the mountain lion and the lion lets out a roar...that could only come from a tiger or an African lion.
Loved this movie so much ! By the way from the end kill on the predator she noticed it in an earlier scene , when she's hiding behind a tree watching him 👍
I also missed what Naru did in the end/how she knew the targeting system would work like that. Having rewatched: when Taabe is fighting the Predator, he knocks its mask off and this causes the bolts its fires at him to hit the tree (where the lasers are pointing) instead.
Yeah, it's a lot to pick up, but the way the bolts hit the native man where the "lasers" are pointing, and then when the bolts MISS, because the helmet was knocked off, changing the targeted destination, was all she needed to see to "figure it out" (she was pretty sharp!), although you would have needed to be really tuned in to the movie to catch these things in your first watching... I (like most people, I think!) asked myself the exact same question - how did she KNOW the helmet worked that way? I wasn't too hung up on this question, though, to be honest! It was just sort of a passing thought. While watching it the second time it was much clearer, I think... Anyways, I loved this movie, and it is definitely one of top 3 Predator flicks! I still like 2, although some give it a lot of flack (unfairly, in my opinion!). The ORIGINAL, of course, was sci-fi movie GOLD, so what else can you say about that...
Predator being invisible is actually balanced since is his site only revolves around thermal vision…which is why when they rock mud or the medicine it makes you invisible, like the predator…balancing the scales
That's still not balanced at all. The Predator can see you in light and in pitch darkness and through cover and you can't see it at all. As for the body heat thing, that's something that the prey has to figure out in order to bring balance to the fight. That puts balancing the scales on the preys responsibility not the hunter.
Can I just say how awesome the half-spear half-mace weapon is? Why did the Predators ever replace that with the Combistick? Or was it just a custom/preferred weapon of this particular Predator? Also the Bladed Slap Bracelet Limb Severers. Frickin awesome.
Man, that flintlock pistol both canonized Predator 2 and also led to a sequel set-up. The story of Raphael Adolini's flintlock was originally portrayed in a comic, so my guess is this'll unfortunately retcon the comic. I am however very excited to see how they'll tell their own interpretation of that story.
33:59 she deducted that when she and her brother were tag-teaming it when the predators mask was on the ground, and the arrows it shot ended up where the lasers pointed on the tree.
So history lesson that I can remember (Not a Historian) This film takes places somewhere around southern of Canada or Pacific North West when the First Settlers from French to Spanish started to arrive. When Naru First stumbled upon the corpses or the Bison/Buffalo that was not the Predator that was the settlers in there attempt to reduce the numbers of Native Americans via destroying what they used the most. There are many small things that you can personally look up to figure stuff about and I give the movie credit to have the people find there own answers to what "Prey" was referring too, the base of the entire story line. The movie version you English version or the Comanche version also have insight on wording that some stuff means very different in other versions of the movie. Even knowing a little French kinda helps to know what the French are doing here (in honestly should have subtitled what they say anyways to give more context but that is a minor gripe) Hope this little lesson whatever it means help makes the movie that more enjoyable to watch (This is copy pasted to give some insight for if you wanna know)
Fairly sure it's the same pistol from Predator 2. Which makes me think that the Predators come back eventually and take out the entire tribe to acquire it. Loved this movie!
From Predator 2, it's clear that the Predators have one hunter go by themselves while the others monitor/watch and then show up after the hunter either completes it's hunt or is killed. As to the Predator not fighting fair, it's a clear commentary on hunting in general. It's not like human hunters go hunting a grizzly with just a knife- they'll use high caliber guns. Hardly fair.😉
Yes ofc they had put the plasma caster on the back burner and instead developed interstellar traveling millennia ago and totally forgot about it. Maybe they are sent to their trials with a specific loadout according to their age/experience/rank while also taking into account the planet and lifeforms in it.
The one with Adrian broner and laurence Fishburn he did say they kept evolving, they would hunt and acquire a fresh set of skills to hunt the next batch of humans so he looks like a very primitive one and he's literally only killing potential challengers to him. He started with the snake, then the wolf, then he stumbled of her people and based on the weapons they are using he's using similar weapons to make it a fair fight. The only cheat code he's using is his camouflage which is why I think he's wasn't killed by her bother instead of her.
Bro I also watched this movie today in HULU....really awesome👍 this movie links with Naru holding the 1719 flintlock pistol which later in Predator 2 ending the Superior Predator gives it as a trophy to Lieutenant Mike Harrigan....
I wonder if the Predators are forced to only take in weapons that are comparable to those of their intended opponents to ensure the fight is fairer. Hence no plasma cannon. You would assume that if they have developed camouflage technology, infra red vision, the targeting system, cloaked interstellar travel etc they will also have developed guns.
No, those Predator in the previous movies (with the plasma cannon) are all in Blooded rank (example is Scar from AvP). Predators without Plasma cannon are either under Un-Blooded or Young Blood ranks. But, Young Bloods are dispatched in 3, so Feral is under Un-Blooded rank.
There is a Comanche dub version and is available on Hulu. When you are about to start the film there is a button on the bottom that shows the two versions, English or Comanche dub. Seen it in both, they were both excellent!!! Loved it!
@Omn1Media, I always thought Predators had sight problems and that that's why they relied on their helmets/inferred. Yes, it can see with its helmet off, but I don't think it can see as well as we do or other animals of this world. Maybe they have something like T-Rex vision. If you stand perfectly still, you might be mistaken for the environment as we saw a couple of times in this movie when their body temperatures were lowered. I don't know what it is, but their eyes seem to be sensitive, particularly to things like fire. Our atmosphere and the lights moving through them problem give them blurred vision. I don't know if you're aware or not, but astronauts often have vision issues too. We humans are designed to thrive on Earth. We were built to live under the pressure of our planet's gravity and atmospheric pressures. Should we ever go to Mars, we're going to have issues as we weren't built to thrive on a planet with only 38% of Earth's gravity, but to be honest that'd be the least of our problems when you consider the radiation from the sun hammer the planet's surface--Mars' cooled core has cooled and as a result has a thin and weak atmosphere. Our world likely has less gravity than what Predators experience on their world, and maybe that's why they're so strong and can do those crazy jumps we often see them doing. We'd be stronger on Mars given that it's gravity is less than Earth's. I don't know if I'd say it's unfair of them using their helmets as we use all of our senses too in our day to day tasks. Those of us with bad vision use glasses or contacts to help us do what we need to do. Naru couldn't smell the bear, but the bear sure could smell her. She couldn't hear the Predator creeping up on her either, but her dog and other animals around her could. She has the same senses they do, just not as good. That said, a Predators' helmet is also an extension of their weapon as we often see with their homing weapons. If they could be separated, it would be a much more fair fight. I also enjoyed this movie more than the previous ones, though I did like the other ones too. I would love to see a follow up, and it wouldn't necessarily have to follow Naru. What if the other ships dropped off Predators in different territories? Japan in the early 1700s would be an interesting period. While not a particularly good time for Africa, I would also be interested in a story taking place in one of its many countries, naturally focusing on the indigenous people of Africa and not those who came to colonize it. An African (or a group, if they'd like to mix things up) would be taking/evading both Europeans and a Predator. I only remember the various skulls found on the Predator ship in the second instalment. Did they show other weapons? In any case, a sequel or a set of sequels set at the same time but different locations would be awesome.
I always felt the predator is like a LVL 129 player that competes in the lower arena's with high level gear and armour vs players on entry level and grind.
Pretty sure the "breaching" was just the ship moving around. I thought the same thing, thinking there was some Predator drop offs. But I honestly it was just the ship.
Just because a movie was set earlier in the timeline, doesn't make it a 'prequel' XD It's just a sequel. It does depict the early Predator incursion but we all already knew that, since it was already explained in previous films. I really, really like this movie, although I'm not a fan of the new Predator creature design (the face design is really important to me). I do like the half mask concept. The new weaponry are cool too! Also I like that the Predator wasn't so OP compared to the earlier films, adds to the realism.
They dropped this predator off on his first hunt finding his way up the food chain and if he survived he would have called for pick up from the ship waiting above the planet in space brought that trophy back to the ship to prove he is a worthy hunter
This Yautja was most likely still very young and may not have been permitted to use the full kit of tools and weapons that most older “Blooded” Yautja are accustomed to. It would explain why he was so arrogant and preferred to just take damage instead of fighting smarter and evading. There’s several times where we see him blatantly ignore many of the Comanche warriors and French traders while they attacked him. Not to mention underestimating the bear’s strength and falling for the bear trap.
Exactly. Plasma cannon is a prize for Blooded ranks. He can't be a Young Blood since they are being dispatched by 3. It's safe to say that he's a Un-Blooded Yautja.
Damn, I havent seen a woman kicking so much ass since Eowyn in LOTR and Ripley in Alien, it didnt feel forced at all IMO. Naru doesnt feel like a mary sue, yes there were a few "on the nose" parts but they didnt last. Great setting and great way to implement the characters and their environment without forced inclusion.... Unlike The rings of power...
Gotta say i lost some respect for that predator when they went invisible during the fight with the brother. I was like "aww, come on! face it,he had you! You dirty cheater"
I personally don't consider his camo cheating. Afterall humans do the same thing when we hunt. We use guns. Animals don't have guns. We cover our scent, all the like. Also, I saw you were a bit confused when the predator just left her after she was caught in the trap. She was defenseless, and caught in a trap not of it's own. It even dropped the trap like "ah maaan. This would a dishonorable kill. Shame" also loved when they got the Yautja in a net, and it was like, "oh yeah, y'all like nets? How do you like mine?"
The only part I was confused about was the ending scene where she uses the french fur trader as bait. Did the predator not see her or was it because he didnt deem her a threat. Because in that scene, she was defo in a more advantageous position than the fur trader(She even had a pistol on her). If it is that plant she ate, dam that shit makes her invincible completely.
So the same way we have hunters hunt with bow or knives or primitive traps predators also use primitive hunting tecniques. Odviously they pretty much can use any tecnology to hunt since they hunted dinosaurs with high tech! Some predators like the purity on the hunt! Well their version of pure without max tech!
I think this might be a female Predator - it would explain the biological difference and be a nice symmetry between the Predator and the female lead. The animated credits end with more Predator ships arriving...
It's a really good film. I've been pleasantly surprised by it. Still, it's not on par with the original two, imho. It's better than the last two though. I liked 2010's predators but this definitely has that beat. Yeah, all round good movie.
@@DanielRodriguez-eh1qd the original is a triumph of scifi/action cinema. Lightning in a bottle, so to speak. Predator 2 was a phenomenal sequel, imo. I don't think there is anything wrong with going back to the basics. This one definitely reflects the original but I don't see it as a copy. Different story, similar feel. "The Predator" was just awful.
As a Native American whose loved Predator as a child since the early 90s I thoroughly enjoyed this film

@@DannyScottyEnty thats the thing, she knew it and the predator should have known it as it was his weapon, but he conveniently forgot that and looked at the laser and let the dart kill him. the story, acting, etc was all great but the way the predator died was just so bad and unbelievable.
@@sanjaysanj5603 he was kinda stuck in the mud though.
@@sanjaysanj5603 Would the predator even been able to see the targeting system.
@@sanjaysanj5603 The Predator had no idea where his helmet was. He noticed it at the last second.
“This is a gorgeous landscape.”
Well this was in a time before we, as George Carlin described, turned that landscape we stole into one big transcontinental commercial cesspool 😂
Lol god I love George Carlin a true legend in comedy, one off the GOATS
Oops “of”
“A Coast to coast shopping mall” that’s always been my favorite of the two.
The 1take fight with her vs the men was fucking incredible! 🤯
The extended 1st part, notice you don't see her face, I suspect that's the stunt woman. After that, from where she moves forward to jump on the 3rd guy, that's Amber from that point on. Or it could be her, seems she taught Brazilian jiu-jitsu for a while.
I loved the fact it was set in the 1700s because they were so in tuned to nature like animals that it even the field compared to relying on tech.
Don't forget the French guys, when they skinned the buffalos.
I stopped reading at "never watched the original films".
@@valdie91285 Hahahaha🤣
31:25 THIS MOMENT! You reacted exactly the same as I did. Of all the gory kill moments, this scene with the rats just…I can even!
I agree with some of the CGI but I don't care, I know that stuff takes a huge budget that they didn't have
CGI needed more work, but budget constraints.
That might be why they did a few fly overs in the beginning
This is supposed to be set up for more new movies in the franchise
His helmet could've been one of his early kills on the planet
Loved this film and the Comanche (pronunced kuhh man chee) version is a totally different cut of the movie!
This is not the first Predator incursion to Earth I think. If you include the lore from AVP, the Yautjas were here since ancient Egypt. But this was indeed their first time landing in American continent.
it's not the first time, wasn't there a movie where they were worshipped by the Aztecas or something, those big pyramids
It was This predator's first time on Earth not his species. The director confirmed it during a interview.
I love this movie. I think the gun is the one that came out in the second part. Great movie.
I like the fact that they brought back Super Predators(2010) (Ignoring the 2018 Predator, that's not super, it's bad writing)
The sound design in this movie is amazing.
This is the best Predator Movie for me
The director said the predator in this looks different because he's from a different hemisphere of the Yautja homeworld.
Either he's a Un-Blooded or a Young Blood (ranks before Blooded) though other clans doesn't go under Young Blood rank, they go straight to Blooded.
keep up the good work
When i saw that first scene with the mountain shot. i did not know it was filmed not far from where i live lol i thought that was pretty cool. as a native myself throughout the movie i was wondering have the comanche ever traveled so far up north before, i don't think they have but i could be wrong.
The heat-seeking explodie disks seemed a bit overkill though lol.
i love this movie so much!and i'm also ready to rewatch in comanche-because i couldn't find the option the first time
lol and i had a similar reaction to that background kill behind the trappers
also i don't know if anybody else felt this way but i feel like this predator might've been like naru?being sent off on its first real traditional hunt?or i'm just reading too much into the parallels i don't know
but yeah all the action sequence choreography was brilliant!
This is a Predator film 👌
Yup! You are right. We finally met the owner of the gun, Rapheal Adolini, that Danny Glover had in Predator 2.
As a fan of predator films Manga etc great film I'm was very impressed n I think this is the movie that should've been made after predator 2 to complete the series Taabe is bad ass an so is the Predator ita like old but new
This is the first time I saw a Predator movie and also the last time. 'Cause it sure as hell doesn't get better than this.
my favourite scene is the brother one on one bow predator fight that shooting and yanking out an arrow to shoot again was so good
This movie here had a lot of call backs to these 2 movies.
-Schwarzenegger line "do it, do it now"
-Billy's scar. In Predator 1, the Indian Billy made the cut with the machete over his chest just before he was killed. Here the bear hunters did it with her brother.
-Schwarzenegger line "if it's bleed, we can kill it"
-the musket from part 2
-the well-known mud bath , used here as a false expectation for the viewers
There were more, but I can't think of them.
Billy's medicine pouch.
Naru saw that the spikes kept going for the target, when Taabe first knocked his helmet off and they kept shooting the tree automatically
It was so good! I was hoping it was going to be a series… hope for more though!
My favorites in the franchise:
Predator
Prey
Predators
Predator 2
Avp
Avp:Requiem
The Predator
Yeah, puma's have a higher pitch roar.
Loved this movie so much ! By the way from the end kill on the predator she noticed it in an earlier scene , when she's hiding behind a tree watching him 👍
Yes that is in fact the very same gun from the 2nd movie.
I also missed what Naru did in the end/how she knew the targeting system would work like that. Having rewatched: when Taabe is fighting the Predator, he knocks its mask off and this causes the bolts its fires at him to hit the tree (where the lasers are pointing) instead.
She also saw them being used during the first encounter when the predator put 3 bolts into one of the braves.
THAT WAS A HOT LINE, TECHNOLOGY WAS HIS DOWNFALL. LIKE TECHNOLOGY WILL BE OUR DOWNFALL,GREAT REACTION👍
33:59 she deducted that when she and her brother were tag-teaming it when the predators mask was on the ground, and the arrows it shot ended up where the lasers pointed on the tree.
Team Predator all the way baby! They are so dope and honor those, who really can fight them. Mostly women, which i love the most here.
Even knowing a little French kinda helps to know what the French are doing here (in honestly should have subtitled what they say anyways to give more context but that is a minor gripe)
Hope this little lesson whatever it means help makes the movie that more enjoyable to watch (This is copy pasted to give some insight for if you wanna know)
Honestly his cloak is more advanced then the jungle hunter and city hunter water doesn't distort it.
I noticed that too and it also doesn't give off the shimmer when moving, only when it comes into contact with something
This is the first Predator to ever come to Earth 🌎 its a scout. scouting Earth for the strongest predator.
Yes ofc they had put the plasma caster on the back burner and instead developed interstellar traveling millennia ago and totally forgot about it.
Maybe they are sent to their trials with a specific loadout according to their age/experience/rank while also taking into account the planet and lifeforms in it.
Love the floating claymores
The one with Adrian broner and laurence Fishburn he did say they kept evolving, they would hunt and acquire a fresh set of skills to hunt the next batch of humans so he looks like a very primitive one and he's literally only killing potential challengers to him. He started with the snake, then the wolf, then he stumbled of her people and based on the weapons they are using he's using similar weapons to make it a fair fight. The only cheat code he's using is his camouflage which is why I think he's wasn't killed by her bother instead of her.
I just watched it and i like it. About AVPR they should release brighter version with only Wolf scenes...
yes, its the same gun! Great reacting!
Sound design in this movie was next level
I think the predator in this movie is a sub species of the iconic predator. Which explains it’s different look and gear.
i enjoyed this movie it was fun and it was a hell of a lot better than the last trash fire Predator movie
I don’t think it’s an “ancient” predator. Some people hunt with bows. Some with guns. Why wouldn’t predators use different load outs
Especially since it’s looking for a fair fight to prove itself just like Naru is.
Yes it is the same gun the predators awarded Danny glover nice Easter egg
The smartest "covering the body heat" method for me was the one used in Predators.
Lmao I can tell you right now if a plant makes your body temp drop that low 100% you would die.
i wonder if this predator was visiting earth like an alien version of a safari. like, he thought it would be a fun hunting trip or something, lol
I did the opposite. I watched it in Comanche & will be re-watching sometime later in English
How good is the dub? From what I understand they had the actors dub their own lines but I don't think any of them were native Comanche speakers.
@@pogo1140 I barley noticed their mouths at all. The language seemed spot on, but then again, I don't speak Comanche 😏
Is there actually a Comanche version? When I watched it this morning, it didn't get me an option.
There is a Comanche dub version and is available on Hulu. When you are about to start the film there is a button on the bottom that shows the two versions, English or Comanche dub. Seen it in both, they were both excellent!!! Loved it!
@@61051208 okay, thanks. I looked, but must have missed it. I'm going to watch it again tomorrow, so I'll look again when I do.
@Omn1Media,
I always thought Predators had sight problems and that that's why they relied on their helmets/inferred.
I always thought that in the movies, without the mask, they were restricted to IR
It takes place before i.e. "pre"
They dropped this predator off on his first hunt finding his way up the food chain and if he survived he would have called for pick up from the ship waiting above the planet in space brought that trophy back to the ship to prove he is a worthy hunter
some hunteres prefer bow over rifle so maybe the predator in this move was a bow guy hence no shoulder mounted canon.
it was good, bravery and ego beat out technology and ego ..it is worth seeing, very violent
After watched Prey. it confuse me how da heck that last predator movie get green lit.
Has to be one of the best movie/show of this year alongside moonknight
It's weird that they call the Cougar, just a Lion. I don't think they ever say Mountain Lion
25:25 That's inspired by God of war according to the director.
Yeah it was the plant 😂
Yes I would like to say it was the gun from a predator 2 🤗
So the same way we have hunters hunt with bow or knives or primitive traps predators also use primitive hunting tecniques. Odviously they pretty much can use any tecnology to hunt since they hunted dinosaurs with high tech! Some predators like the purity on the hunt! Well their version of pure without max tech!
I think this might be a female Predator - it would explain the biological difference and be a nice symmetry between the Predator and the female lead.
The animated credits end with more Predator ships arriving...
Team Predator all the way
The comanche version is even better.
It's a really good film. I've been pleasantly surprised by it.
Still, it's not on par with the original two, imho. It's better than the last two though. I liked 2010's predators but this definitely has that beat.
Yeah, all round good movie.
Idk Randy, for me this has become my favorite predator film.
@@DanielRodriguez-eh1qd the original is a triumph of scifi/action cinema. Lightning in a bottle, so to speak.
Predator 2 was a phenomenal sequel, imo.
This, as good as it is, it's just a rehash of the original, just set in a different time period.
But as I said, it was still a solid movie. Yeah, I really enjoyed it.
@@TheRetroManRandySavage I don’t know man it had some call backs but I wouldn’t say rehash it’s too different imao and it perfectly encapsulates what a predator is, predator was goofy to be honest the end scenes were good, but the lead up is pretty poor, with ridiculous dialogue and other scenes.
I don't think there is anything wrong with going back to the basics. This one definitely reflects the original but I don't see it as a copy. Different story, similar feel. "The Predator" was just awful.
When I saw that buffalo scene I thought it would be the predator but when I think about it was not cause it won't be treat to the predator
I loved this film
