I recommand you Moso bamboo, it's the most popular to fabrication in China, you have to wait 10 (8 ~ 12 in general) years to get your bamboo mature and have a big diameter and then all year you can have a new one (but it's better to still wait some year after collecting)

You know, I've used a drill with different bits on it as a make-shift rotary tool.. It has gotten the job done but was a pain.. And had to use husband's DeWalt drill bc my off-brand drill wasn't powerful enough
