- We go through our yearly maintenance on our 1971 El Camino super sport, we go thru the cold lash on our soild roller camshaft with Stud girdles, and we take off the 850 holley ultra xp and get ready to make some changes to the jetting and power valve to get the lean stumble out of the car due to a tighter converter change we did when the th 350 got rebuilt, our email address is h1971elcamino@yahoo.com

Nice work buddy I'm glad you pointed out to NOT loosen up the gurdle unless you have to adjust the lash and even then barely loose enough to turn the poly lock you wouldn't believe how many times I'd seen people do it with the girdle off or all the sections loose

I have a kit coming for my 750, have not even taken a bowl off yet. The gaskets are a couple few years old so I want to make sure I have some nice fresh ones before diving in LOL. Look forward to sponging up all the Holley info I can, so I am definitely looking forward to more 👍 Thanks Herb.
Do you use anything on the plate or bowl gasket faces ?
No I just don’t over tighten the bowls, just snug and they usually come back apart pretty good, have any questions hit me up email is in the description ✌️💪

Why are you using two feeler gauges?
One .010, and .002. why not just use A .012? seems like the .002 Feeler is moving on top of the .010.
I use A .013 the next size up, and check it like a no - go gauge. making sure that the .013 does not go in.

How do you like your new converter? Mine works great gained alot of street driveabolity and trans temp stays under 150 but the tighter converter kicked it in the nuts more than I thought it would i had to lower my 2 step quite a bit to not push through the brakes and the tighter converter hurt the 60' more than I thought it would but at least I can drive it on the street
I can definitely tell drivability is better, mine seems like it pulls harder to tell the truth, but won’t know anything until we take it to the track 💪✌️🙏
