- New BeamNG update helps steering wheel players with understeer and oversteer. It is now easy to drift in BeamNG even on a 900 degrees steering wheel. Trying out different drift cars and different locations for drifting. I have AI traffic enabled as well so quite a few funny crashes today. BeamNG seems to have optimized their game as well, there is less lag with AI cars now. It helps to have good wheel settings as well obviously.

Well, that's what it is now, beamng's grip physics before that update were awful as soon as you broke traction, the devs themselves even mentioned something about incorrect calculations/implementation of dynamic friction
It is now more realistic, it is emulating the EPS/EPAS in modern cars.
We don't care about "easy drifting", we care about realism as it is the game's goal and does it amazingly well.

@@quizztube_tv i mean if someone would pay for the amount of times i purposely crash into the wall I would, but in beamng I don't have to pay or get injured so i think its nice to have some realism in there :)

@@БлогерыРоссии If you play the game for more than just the crashes you will notice that the only thing BeamNG does not simulate well are tires-heat/model and aero (which I believe they will be overhauling very soon because of the amount of requests for it). Everything else is done really well including the engines, suspension, and weight (I love tearing my bumpers off with node grab :D) and sure it may not feel as good as IRacing or ACC but it simulates so much more than them, and with the games constant updates I believe BeamNG will surpass every sim in terms of physics. I just wish people would stop thinking its just a crash physics demonstration like it was at the start because it is so much more than that now and will continue evolving into something great.

I was pleasantly surprised when i came back after 1+ year hiatus. The driving is sooo much better than it was. Much smoother at high speeds ( and better fps ? optimization maybe ? ) Every time i come back to this game i feel like i should send the devs a 20 because it feels like a new game.
beamng is so much easier to drift now its insane . its still like assetto corsa on ice but its still crazy good if you take in everything else all the physics damage etc nothing competes

@@KMPTK You can turn the understeer & oversteer assists off in the gameplay settings, though, so that's a plus. I think it was implemented for keyboard players more than anything

The drift handling seem more real now than before
People saying we don’t want it easier we want it realistic haven’t played before vs after updates and felt how unrealistic it felt before. I played the day before the update just practicing drifting then the day the update happened, it’s still more difficult than other games but the handling is intuitive. Before it didn’t naturally want to turn into the corner without input but now it will hold the angle you give it which is what would normally happen. Plus it make it more fun when you can drift.
the reason drifting doesn’t feel realistic is because of the drift setups tuning… if you manage to get a good tune you’re set.
I'd love to see you try some custom tuning for drifting, especially changing away fro the dumb drift tires, do a suspension overhaul, maybe a mod for steering angle.. it makes drifting actually feels nice, now with the assists it should be even better.. premade variants are still, sadly, trash

You need to switch the steering in the front suspension to “drift steering” it give you more steering angle
TIP: if you hold CTRL you can move car by dragging it (can remove bumpers under cars)

Hey, where would I go to find drift mods like that? The main game's mod UI search function is pretty much useless.

A year later but you actually played with assists off, you have to check wheel filter in order for the assists to be added to the wheel, then it gets heavier. So you drifted by yourself. Nice clip anyway

you drifted the quack outa them cars! lol i kinda get why an h shifter is a good idea for drifting now! but i still don't wanna pay for one when I've got arduinos and a 3d printer and rage, pure unadulterated rage.
I decided i'll focus my rage on the 3d printed box to mount on my wheel stand. i got a 30 dollar arcade stick diy usb kit. i'm thinking having the buttons arranged in the shifter pattern, and use the stick as the handbrake, simhub and a side screen can keep track of the gearing if the kit itself makes lighting up the buttons difficult for my intended purposes.

Can you please check out the career mode next time? Because there are also drift missions. and If youre wondering like "They say its coming soon" yes, but... you need to click on the career mode icon in the main menu like 10 times or so and then theres a pop up. after some clicking and explanations you can play the Work-In-Progress Career Mode in Beamng. pls do that. That would be epic

Just upgraded to an RTX 3070 and I can finally play this game in its full glory... full, buttery smooth slow-mo on massive collisions and whatnot. I always assumed this game played at a native 5 FPS lmaoooo
@@z3mv Ryzen 5 5600X, I love it, single core scores are ridiculous. But it's on my gaming-only rig, you'd want something with more cores if it's also used for rendering or encoding work for example
@@z3mv the 5600x would be a definite upgrade, you'll be getting 6 cores as opposed to your current 4 cores. That would be a massive boost all around- but keep in mind the CPU socket is different than Intel's, so you'd also have to invest in a motherboard with an AMD AM4 socket. You might be better off finding a newer model i7 (compatible with your current motherboard) if you're trying to save on costs. However, if you want to take advantage of newer PCIe 4.0 speeds and higher stock RAM clock speeds, then a new motherboard will already be on your list. I would recommend an x-570 board as they tend to be more feature-rich.
