I was more focusing on the little details like the way they sit or how the react, which are usually just small differences in their arms/hands or the gap between their legs when standing. Generally lumine stands with her legs closer and usually has her hands close to her chest
I think the biggest difference between them is how they conduct themselves, for example for almost all of their cutscenes, Lumine acts very elegant and well-mannered, and does not open her legs to be proper, while Aether is much more physically instinctively reacting, and doesn’t bother about that!
I think something people didn't notice is that Lumine has more leg strength than Aether. In the fishing, Aether is still sitting, showing that his arm strength is enough to hoist Paimon out of the water while Lumine has to stand up. Another thing for this is that the geo burst animation is different. Lumine uses her foot while Aether uses his hand. Just an observation
Aether also jumps when doing electro burst, while Lumine stands upright raises her hand. I think these differences gives her more distinguished flair, like she's a young mistress from a good family.

Because her eyes are wider and always open wide, her brows are always covered by the bangs, while aether have more narrow eyes and apparent brows, he is way more expressive with this. And that's why i think lumine fits a lot more to be the villain than aether. She is also more elegant which makes her seems colder and "villainest" than aether, who is more on the comfort and clumsy side.

I like to think the twins have a few similar personalities that mimic and compliment each other. Not because they're twins, but because they're siblings. Whether siblings like it or not, they will always share a certain trait because they're related by blood, or they've unconsciously picked up the habit. I heard that when you pick up habits from someone, when that someone is gone, it hurts a lot more because it's like taking a part of you.
To explain further: both twins can be expressive. They just have certain traits that make them different from the other and define who they are as a singular individual. Both twins can also be cold. (Lumine just appears colder lol) They make similar decisions to one another because they've been by each other's side for so long, they've probably picked up a thing or two

As a traveler main, I really get to appreciate how Hoyo wanted to make the twins distinct from one another, both are not more nor less of each other but compliment each other really well. I am no body language reader expert so I don't think reading a character's body language is enough to tell us what we need to know about them. Their voicelines, expressions, and even the design-wise aspects of them are other things to take into factor to really know the travelers well. Also more than the twins looking alike, they seem to look more like fraternal twins to me rather than copy-pasta of each other or a gender-bent version of one another. Hoyo really wanted to make both twins stand out in their own unique way, and I'm glad to be an Aether main since Day 1, my sister picked Lumine and to assist her, I picked my boi! He looks amazing, that design is really one of the peak character designs for a male character adding in the midriff and the braid (his best selling points!) and that's what makes me feel happy seeing him, his design is very attractive to the eye because of how well the colors are displayed. And the way his ahoge moves along with his earring! He looks heroic, powerful, and a gentle brother, other times an adorable dork who would poke fun at Paimon. Aether is truly best boi! Proud to main the traveler! Made another account to try Lumine and she looks adorable and beautiful as well.
From everything I gathered, Aether is a brute. Not a mindless one. Far from it. He is an instinctive fighter. His posture is more spread out for stability and raw power. Lumine is graceful. Her fight is calculated and focused on precision.
a weird fun fact is that aether is actually a more defensive fighter while lumine is more of an attacker- you can see their different poses in the 2.4 lantern rite cutscene (the one yun jin sings)! at around 2:06 seconds in the cutscene :)

Here are some differences I found: -They move their legs differently. In the fishing Paimon cutscene, Lumine stands while Aether sits. In the meeting Klee cutscene, Lumine closes her legs while Aether decides not to. -Lumine cares about her movement more than Aether. She acts appropriately and tries to quickly fix her pose. -There is more reflection in Lumine's hair than in Aether! In the cutscene where they see Venti for the first time, there is just a shadow on top of Aether's hair, while Lumine has some light. She also all the time has the white reflection ovals (Idk what they're called). -Lumine's eyes look more smooth, while Aether's is more boxy and rough. -Aether shows his courage and intention slightly more often, while Lumine shows her inside feelings instead. -In 1:43 we can see Aether has turned around to completely observe and view Stormterror/Dvalin, while Lumine looked in one direction only. -If you slowed down at the second 1:54 you'll notice that Lumine has already opened her wind glider, while Aether's is still not fully open; and he's also really blurry, which means that he's supposed to move really quickly. -In some parts, Lumine's eyes are more open than Aether's. Like in the seconds 2:27, 2:37, or 3:27.
One thing I noticed besides animations and expressions, is that Lumines side seemed to have more brighter colors. When you look at the scene with Venti disappearing when he catches you watching him with Stormterror, notice how the affect of him disappearing is on Lumines side and not Aethers side.
I love that hoyoverse has taken into consideration that the two twins will not just be a copy paste version of eachother. Lumines elegance, beauty and vibrancy compliments aether's slight y rough and playful nature, I think that both twins have been executed very well. Their designs also match their personality. If U hadn't noticed, the pretty sky blue colour goes well with lumines brown eyes and describes the elegance she has. Compared to aether, she seems very well put together (not saying that aether isn't either), and her twin brother has really great colour schemes too. I hope Hoyoverse makes content like this in the future!!
Every day I get surprised by how much effort they put into this game/how much thought is put behind everything. The fact that the twins are visually different characters, is so cool.
Weird how their are differences outside of the twins themselves, like the clouds being different before the tornado appears, or Venti being lit differently in the tavern.
I don't understand korean, but I picked the voice over for my second Account. The language and the voices sound very pretty and I think korean Paimon is the least annoying. Not that I complain over english Paimon, but I get what other people dislike about her eng v.o.

Something that I noticed, tho only on the English and Japanese versions since I didn't ever see the korean and chinese versions, that when the twins finally meet, Abyss Aether was very emotional but still determined, like he had his heart exposed all the time, but Abyss Lumine was really cold until she promised the traveler that they will eventually be together, then she was warm and caring a bit
I love love Lumine, but this is precisely one of the reasons why I love her as the Abyss twin. It just hits different the way they portray it, it's more impactful and you can really feel how much she went through as to why she is with the Abyss Order. Makes you really want to learn MORE on what happened 500 years ago. Aether's expressions feel more passionate and open book, so I can't really find too much impact with him as the Abyss Prince with just how expressive and "loud" (like his movements and animations) he is.
Why was it that there is more light in lumines ver? The statue is darker for Aethers Venti, when he's teleporting away, was glowing intensively on lumines but didn't glow at all on Aethers And why was it that signora's white floating thing beside hers middle part is darker on lumines and lighter on Aethers? Almost as if it's a dark shade of red on lumines while on Aethers it's a bit more goldeny brown

he says, before lumine leaving him to sleep, he saw the flower in her hair, so its likely she plucked the flower whereas mc lumine got it gifted to her by aether
It works both ways. That flower symbolizes home. For Aether, Lumine will always be his home. For Lumine, it's much darker. The flower withers after it goes to home.

I love how when they flew up to fight the Stormterror, Lumine looked confused and slightly scared while Aether just looks about ready throw hands. The difference in their personality, albeit subtle really shines in the cutscenes.
Lumine doesn't move more than she has to, like in 1:45 where she's more still than Aether. She moves with obvious grace and elegance than Aether, which, imo, makes her the better fit for the Abyss Princess role.
The color contrast and brightness between the two is pretty noticable now that their side by side. It could be the time of day difference, but I doubt it.
Even tho I like Aether more, I still chose Lumine since Aether fits being a villain or something on the dark side. Like he'll choose the wrong way for the correct path and Lumine opposes that.

저는 남자인거도 있고 남행자 외형도 디자인도 귀엽고 예쁘고 몰입감 있는 최애라 골랐는데 그동안 좋아하는 최애들 성우가 경태님인걸 알게되고 신기해서 더 좋아합니다.ㅎㅎㅎ

Here are some differences I found:
-They move their legs differently. In the fishing Paimon cutscene, Lumine stands while Aether sits. In the meeting Klee cutscene, Lumine closes her legs while Aether decides not to.
-Lumine cares about her movement more than Aether. She acts appropriately and tries to quickly fix her pose.
-There is more reflection in Lumine's hair than in Aether! In the cutscene where they see Venti for the first time, there is just a shadow on top of Aether's hair, while Lumine has some light. She also all the time has the white reflection ovals (Idk what they're called).
-Lumine's eyes look more smooth, while Aether's is more boxy and rough.
-Aether shows his courage and intention slightly more often, while Lumine shows her inside feelings instead.
-In 1:43 we can see Aether has turned around to completely observe and view Stormterror/Dvalin, while Lumine looked in one direction only.
-If you slowed down at the second 1:54 you'll notice that Lumine has already opened her wind glider, while Aether's is still not fully open; and he's also really blurry, which means that he's supposed to move really quickly.
-In some parts, Lumine's eyes are more open than Aether's. Like in the seconds 2:27, 2:37, or 3:27.
Just a reminder that the developers said that Lumine is made to look cool while Aether more cute
One thing I noticed besides animations and expressions, is that Lumines side seemed to have more brighter colors. When you look at the scene with Venti disappearing when he catches you watching him with Stormterror, notice how the affect of him disappearing is on Lumines side and not Aethers side.

Its so nice that we can see the difference of how they were raised and their personality by tiny things like the way they sit.
I love that hoyoverse has taken into consideration that the two twins will not just be a copy paste version of eachother. Lumines elegance, beauty and vibrancy compliments aether's slight y rough and playful nature, I think that both twins have been executed very well. Their designs also match their personality. If U hadn't noticed, the pretty sky blue colour goes well with lumines brown eyes and describes the elegance she has. Compared to aether, she seems very well put together (not saying that aether isn't either), and her twin brother has really great colour schemes too. I hope Hoyoverse makes content like this in the future!!
Every day I get surprised by how much effort they put into this game/how much thought is put behind everything.
The fact that the twins are visually different characters, is so cool.

Weird how their are differences outside of the twins themselves, like the clouds being different before the tornado appears, or Venti being lit differently in the tavern.
I don't understand korean, but I picked the voice over for my second Account. The language and the voices sound very pretty and I think korean Paimon is the least annoying. Not that I complain over english Paimon, but I get what other people dislike about her eng v.o.
@Robin Sailo In fact, Mihoyo themselves demanded this pitch of voice from Paimon's v.a., it's v.a.'s fault. English voice over is dead for me because of how Mihoyo just buries it deeper and deeper. An example would be a lantern rite event, where Hu Tao sounded absolutely terrible because of the music rushing forward 😶

Something that I noticed, tho only on the English and Japanese versions since I didn't ever see the korean and chinese versions, that when the twins finally meet, Abyss Aether was very emotional but still determined, like he had his heart exposed all the time, but Abyss Lumine was really cold until she promised the traveler that they will eventually be together, then she was warm and caring a bit
I love love Lumine, but this is precisely one of the reasons why I love her as the Abyss twin.
It just hits different the way they portray it, it's more impactful and you can really feel how much she went through as to why she is with the Abyss Order. Makes you really want to learn MORE on what happened 500 years ago.
Aether's expressions feel more passionate and open book, so I can't really find too much impact with him as the Abyss Prince with just how expressive and "loud" (like his movements and animations) he is.

The statue is darker for Aethers
Venti, when he's teleporting away, was glowing intensively on lumines but didn't glow at all on Aethers
And why was it that signora's white floating thing beside hers middle part is darker on lumines and lighter on Aethers? Almost as if it's a dark shade of red on lumines while on Aethers it's a bit more goldeny brown

여행자 고른사람인데 설정상 남행자가 진주인공 맞는 것 같은데... 층암 내용 보니까 여행자 꽃이 켄리아 꽃이란 설정인데 이걸 남행자로 플레이 했을때의 스토리가 훨씬 매끄럽고 떡밥회수 잘됨

There is a scene with dainsleif in the chasm that lumine says something about the flower in her hair. Aether players, how does that scene goes with him? When you’re in the hilichruls camp in the middle of the chasm with dain
he says, before lumine leaving him to sleep, he saw the flower in her hair, so its likely she plucked the flower whereas mc lumine got it gifted to her by aether
For us, it says something along the lines of “That’s the flower in my sister’s hair!”
It works both ways.
That flower symbolizes home.
For Aether, Lumine will always be his home.
For Lumine, it's much darker. The flower withers after it goes to home.

Lumine is very careful with everithing and closed from world, while Aether is more open and generally softer.
And that's why I chose Aether
That's what I noticed from the statue scene and when the traveler has to follow Childe: Aether trusts, Lumine hesitates

Aether seems more confident and laidback while Lumine acts more elegant and noble

I love how when they flew up to fight the Stormterror, Lumine looked confused and slightly scared while Aether just looks about ready throw hands. The difference in their personality, albeit subtle really shines in the cutscenes.
Lumine doesn't move more than she has to, like in 1:45 where she's more still than Aether. She moves with obvious grace and elegance than Aether, which, imo, makes her the better fit for the Abyss Princess role.
Overall, Lumine seems smarter and more hesitant, while Aether seems stronger but more confident/reckless.
Feels like they are trying to find each other and they are just next to each other.... In alternate universes
The color contrast and brightness between the two is pretty noticable now that their side by side. It could be the time of day difference, but I doubt it.

Even tho I like Aether more, I still chose Lumine since Aether fits being a villain or something on the dark side. Like he'll choose the wrong way for the correct path and Lumine opposes that.
