This is my favorite song of all time, from any band. I've heard it for 30+ years and thousands of times. It is imprinted on my psyche. Even watching this video reaction, I get chills every time I hear this solo. Every single time. No matter what I am doing, I just stop and close my eyes and let this song take me right back to 1987. What else can I say. It's amazing.
Dokken is awesome, they were a legitimately good band. Don Dokken had a distinctive voice that fused blues rock with operatics. George Lynch had a sound that was soulful and distinctively his. Jeff Pilson was a steady bassist but also a great back up singer in his own right and “Wild” Mick Brown is one of the best No Frills rock and metal drummers of all time, he really hits hard and you feel it. As far as repetition goes, I think it’s more the length of the song, if it was 2 or 3 choruses shorter it may have been tighter. Other than that though it’s a great song if the band wasn’t so good it probably would’ve been boring. Overall the music of the 80s was based around being able to sing along, I think we’ve actually forgotten about that in more modern music, especially when melody and memorable choruses has been pretty much removed from a lot of popular music in the last 20 years.

The sound production on alot of the metal albums from the 80's really sucked to be honest. They ended up sounding really thin and sterile sounding. This album by Dokken was an exception. The sound engineer did an amazing job on this album
This song is amazing they are my favorite band but if you like guns n roses you'll love dokken Don's a better vocalist George lynch is a better guitarist it is probably debatable but I think George lynch is better under lock And key is a great album and this is a great song and give the 2008 album lightning strikes again that album is just amazing, back from the attack also and tooth and nail great album ,breaking the chains came out in 1983 ,drums listen to tooth and nail it is great,sorry about your job blood luck job hunting

The production on this album (Under Lock And Key) was the best of any Dokken record. It really elevated all their songs to another level.
