  • This #generalelection2024 continues to go from bad to worse for Sunak who lurches from one disaster to the next.
Meanwhile, the Reform Party are happy to help the Labour Party win a stonking majority, so they can eat a diminished Tory Party. As British politics lives through an earthquake, what confronts us going forward?

Every market place that has been created by giving away something previously nationalised has failed to provide additional value to the taxpayer. Whether that be electricity, gas, water, the railways, the cabled phone network. The 'markets' they created are not real with the taxpayer paying for when these companies fail. Furthermore tax payers from other countries are benefitting by their country running services in the UK!!! Foreign states are running our railway franchises and energy companies. Totally bonkers.

It was never about money. It was about telling the establishment to do one, it was about trying to preserve our democracy and sovereignty, it was about trying to preserve our culture and identity. She leaves out the fact that inflation was caused by 2 years lock down, she leaves out the effects on the economy from the Ukraine war causing the cost of food and energy to rise, she leaves out the effects of the green energy agenda which has also caused costs to rise. She leaves out the effects of continued mass immigration and the costs of illegal immigration. And frankly the fact that we were never delivered Brexit in the first place. We got a watered down Brexit in name only, worst of both worlds. Also the fact that Brexit is a generational project which was always going to take years to set up trade deals and cut red tape and the fact we are still paying into the EU. We wont be able to say how much Brexit has cost or if it has been a failure or success for at least another 20 years but we are beginning to see the benefits now that we are the 4th largest trade exporter in the world.

Hey Alvan , when does the extra £350,000,000 a week arrive for the NHS?
When does the levelling up begin ?
Maybe you could outline half a dozen benefits of Brexit that have really improved the standard of living for the average Brexit voter .

@@handarokadath1515The NHS appear to have invested it in unnecessarily highly coloured pedestrian crossings, diversity managers and other non medical staff. Also they are paying for the agency staff that are necessary because staff recruitment, training and retention have been ignored as part of the forward looking strategic planning by the ambitious, self interested "Yes, sir" management. The front line point of delivery staff do an exceptional task but the poor management, especially at the Senior Admin level fare not so well. They come across very uncaring, particularly in tragic avoidable circumstances, when they seem more interested in covering up for their own shortcomings. Just my view, if a little off topic.

You do excellent work using peoples words and deeds on Brexit. And 🗞️ and journalists wonder why they are regrettably becoming less important in holding politicians accountable on behalf of the public. Keep at it
