- Hey Everyone! I might start posting some random “back porch bluegrass licks” every now and then to give y’all some ideas for your bluegrass breaks. These videos will be geared towards the fast learners and intermediate/advanced pickers. This first lick is in the key of G.

Please do, if you can. Because these random videos are full of useful practice tips. I learnt a lot from your lessons that are always rich in details and have a full approach to the guitar (for instance lessons in open tunings or drop D)

This is probably my favorite style of lesson. No talking just teaching. I love the part at the end where you show us what we can sound like if we practice what you previously showed, it's more than the notes it's the flavor and subtle intonations that make this a great lesson. I can hear that it isn't just hitting the right notes but how you hit them and somehow that was shown masterfully without even needing words.

Awesome, thanks! I’ll plan on doing some more of these. It’s my D-18 with an ambertone finish you see in my other videos but it’s a lot shinier outside. The studio lighting changes the color a bit…but I am using some new strings that I haven’t used in previous videos - Woodtone Nickel Infused Acoustic Guitar Strings. We partnered with Black Diamond Strings to develop them… more details on them soon since we haven’t launched them yet, but seriously the best strings I’ve ever used. Thanks for the comment! Ditto. Too much talking in most lesson videos. Some might like that, but the simpler and more to the point the better IMO.
