I think it would look really good to freshen up all the metal work, since your axles and chassis will be brand new, and it seems like wheels too. It would be sort of like a resto mod type build then, all shiny new stuff but an older more beat up body
I think a fresh powder coat on the metal work would be nice. Will match the new axles and give it that refreshed look without having had to repaint the whole truck
As much as the beat up metal work would add to the 'character', I say repaint it and freshen it up with the rest of the truck. Project is coming along nicely, looking very cool. I thoroughly enjoy the build process, so all good when it takes some time.
I am liking the direction the UnFunhaver is going and yes it should be two wheel drive with the independent front suspension. GOOD IDEA TO REMOVE THE GLASS, now it needs an internal rollcage or at least the 'A' piller and centre anti intrusion bars.
I forgot to mention I saw I think on Josh's scale news there was a company that do a kit to give more steering angle and more travel like you can get on the 1-1 Pre-runners. I love the Pre-runners my UDR has the Pro-line 67 Ford F100 clear body I painted with white front hood & fenders and rear fenders white the cab silver but one door is matte black I am in the process of doing the same to my SBR clone and Kraken-RC VEKTA-5TT also.
Vintage is good. My SW3 chassis from Bender on RCC with TLT axles and homemade links and a Novak Rooster esc still sits on the shelf reminding me how this crawler thing got started. Lol.
Love the builds Matt! As for the Rover, seeing as all the upgrades are going to have that new part shine, I would consider painting the all metal work shiney as well thus tying it all together. Hope you have a great weekend!
Love the original weathered look of the land rover. I wouldn't paint any of it. The TRX is going to be pretty cool especially with the garage door. I know you plan on using rhe winch to open it but are you planing on using some sort of spring or elastic to pull it back closed when you reel the winch back out? And the no fun haver has to be 4x4...there are just as many 4x4 pre runners as there are 2x4.
I love this series, especially the parts where we get to watch you actually work on the truck! What better way to learn than to watch a master at work? In addition, I appreciate your interaction and in-tune-ness with your community, as well as your cheesy jokes. Keep rockin' it!
Always a nice to have you on in the background while wrench'n. I even pay attention once in awhile. LOL. Those axles are Landrover-esque. There you go cost'n me money again!🤣 Roll up door idea is classic. Always a pleasure Brother. Right On 👊
I think if you're gonna leave the exterior the way it is I think you should leave the metal the way it is also. Just so they match. I'm also a fan of you putting those toyos on there. They are a very nice looking tire! And yes yes yes to two wheel, all the pre runners i see swem to be two wheel. Thanks for another great episode matt!
It's cool to see what people are doing, but mostly I wanted to comment on the facts that 1, your videos are done very well. The editing, the format, and professionalism is amaaaaazing. 2, you are a natural for the camera, and your presentation/ delivery is also amaaaaaazing! Great job 👍 I wish I had your tallents.
leave all that lovely patina bar work how it is, maybe replace the hella lights with some working ones and replace the roller winch fairlead with a standard one and maybe etch SBG into it or something. lovely build!
For the Rover freshen thing's up then let the nature of crawling do the rest, great to see you doing builds again I appreciate your attention to the finner details 😉👍
Enjoying this new series! I have a killerbody d90 non opening door hard body project that is waiting to get painted. Would be handy to have some tips on what to use to highlight the edges and door lines 👍
? spacer for front shock towers at the frame mount. Inside tower outside frame 3-5mm. perhaps a 3D printed or hand made part to brace towers to Transmission mount, for lateral rigidity to keep flex in suspension
I didn't see your opinion on that orange truck... But I absolutely love love it.. just how it is.. I 2ant it sooo badly just like it is... The body especially...
As always, good stuff. I dig the changes to the no fun haver. It makes me want one and I’ll go against what I would normally say and keep it 4wd. Keep on keeping on.
Sad about the orange but totally understand why it's staying. I say repaint the metal work loving the yota axles! And thinking about getting some of those Toyos for my Defender as the BF KM3s have been done to death! That grill is awesome matey! Think that roller door will look the biz buddy! 😁👌
I wonder if some Tech Deck wheels would work for the rail system for the Traxxas hauler? They’d be slick enough to slide nicely and are already set up to work with mounting hardware.
Idea for what’s on the bench: getting rid of the MOA on a kyosho rampage outlaw prerunner. Hehe, only because that’s what I want to do. Have a great day!
I watched your weathering vids, did a whole power wagon cab in sophisticated finishes i was nervous but it turned out great . Did add alittle weight though. I would like to see you finish that chevy prerunner and run vid class 8 truck are 2 or 4 wheel drive do me a favor and find away to make the front open diff. Always great to watch your vids
Matt love your weekly show. Currently working on the Tamiya yj jeep hard body. Would love to see what your recommendations on what you would use for a chassis, motor, ect or how you would build it. Anyway love the show and information.
The moa trucks Josh is building can be fun if u look at it like a custom one off purpose built off-road buggy and put your own flare on it by adding an interior and driver
Matt, I really like how your going to upgrade this unto scx10ii chassis you had my vote on that for sure cuz I am currently working on one. Taking my time have a lot on my plate at the moment, but it will be cool to see you go through your built an give a refresh something to still be proud of, even if you skip a few steps , but repainting the ext metal pieces do you care how it’ll look when it all done ? There’s your answer.
If gonna paint the body then the metal should compliment it as is thus making faster progress. Great job on the window cut outs. Too many 4x4 yeah try a 2WD. Should catch great videos blasting some dirt but either way should be fun. 👍
Hey Matt, I think that if you are keeping the original paint, that the metal work should stay the same. Keep it all looking fluid, maybe hit the chassis and axles with some weathering.. That could be for another video 🤔. That's something that I always want to do, but never do..
@@scalebuildersguild no problem, thats the one thing that seems to always slip through the cracks, making a nice weatherd body, and having a bang new chassis under it. I tell myself, that I'm going to do it, but never do.. Maybe my reg an long box build I will finally do it. 🤷♂️
I think it would look really good to freshen up all the metal work, since your axles and chassis will be brand new, and it seems like wheels too. It would be sort of like a resto mod type build then, all shiny new stuff but an older more beat up body
Thanks for the suggestions... everyone has different opinions!
yeah
Long travel 2wd for the pre runner. And refinishing the bumper and metal work is my vote
It’s so satisfying to tear down and clean up a vehicle.
I think a fresh powder coat on the metal work would be nice. Will match the new axles and give it that refreshed look without having had to repaint the whole truck
The show is great. It really motivates me to stay on my projects. 👍
Great to hear! Thanks for watching!
Yes restore the entire truck and paint. Make it shine.
As much as the beat up metal work would add to the 'character', I say repaint it and freshen it up with the rest of the truck. Project is coming along nicely, looking very cool. I thoroughly enjoy the build process, so all good when it takes some time.

As is on the bar work, cause the scratches gives it character.
I am liking the direction the UnFunhaver is going and yes it should be two wheel drive with the independent front suspension.

I ab-so-lute-ly love WOTB weekly! Looking forward to it every week!
I’d refresh the metal works, as the chassis and axles will be new as well.
Thanks for watching!
♥️ your Chanel SIR. Thanks for all the HELP and INFORMATION you give us In this GREAT HOBBY OF OURS. 🇬🇧🇨🇦🕊️✌🏼🤩👍🏼🤙🏼
Thanks for watching!
New paint on the bar work for sure
Vintage is good. My SW3 chassis from Bender on RCC with TLT axles and homemade links and a Novak Rooster esc still sits on the shelf reminding me how this crawler thing got started. Lol.
I saw 1/10 rod shop did a 3d printed radiator behind they're open grill. Looks so good. Something like that would be awesome.
Love the builds Matt! As for the Rover, seeing as all the upgrades are going to have that new part shine, I would consider painting the all metal work shiney as well thus tying it all together. Hope you have a great weekend!
I haven't decided what I'm doing, but thanks for the suggestions!
Thanks!
Thank you!

I think you are right about going 2wd on the prerunner
Completely in phase with the Yota axles. This was my starting point on my RRC build.
I love this series, especially the parts where we get to watch you actually work on the truck! What better way to learn than to watch a master at work?

These builds are looking Awesome i would freshen up the metal work on the Rover it will look Great with the new tires and axles Thanks for the video
Thanks for watching!
I really like this body. And you don't build junk... so, i like this truck
Definitely leave the metal work as it is. The weathering on it will match the body. 😊
Thanks for the suggestions!
Leave the bar work to match the body. Weather the axles to match also.
You should do a video for tips for first timers. How to make 3d printed parts, best way to paint, best first upgrades, etc
If you watch through the budget build series, there are a lot of tips for newbies. Thanks for watching!
Get a set of the SSD shock hoops. They lean outwards giving you more room where you need it.
For the Rover freshen thing's up then let the nature of crawling do the rest, great to see you doing builds again I appreciate your attention to the finner details 😉👍
Thanks for watching!
Outstanding . You sure can build. Thank you for sharing your skills
Thank you very much!
Nice intro... Fluid... Soooo fluid.... Lol
Loved the Beamng play last night... Can't wait to see more
Glad you enjoyed!
The Nofunhaver is lookin noice. I agree with your assessment of hankering for some 2wd action.
Thanks for watching!
Thanks Matt!!!
Metal work looks good, it shows its age well.
I wanted some 2wd time too so I got the SSD manual locking hubs and so she goes both ways now...
Always paint. It will look good.
4wd on the prerunner with an extra loose front diff.
The Lowrance for the No Funhaver looks like a Mento......Be careful ! LOL All kidding aside the No Funhaver looks awesome.
Don't sweat the technique!!
and the bar work looks authentic Rangey, well the ones I see anyway lol
I would love to see the 2022 Sticker sheet! A whole show of sticker explanations.
Hope to get them soon!
Love the NoFunHaver. I agree with Bryan, metal work would look good with a touch up
Everything looks awesome 👌 definitely do 2wd on the chevy!
I almost bought that rear axle for my defender! I probably will just need finish up few builds! Great Video as always Matt!
Thanks for watching!
Whether the body and the rails for the rover. 2wd for the prerunner.
"Do Not Eat" I thought they ment the wrapper the candy came in.. Another fantastic upload Sir. Stay RAD. Hope you enjoy the long weekend !
Thanks, you too!
New favorite weekly show
Thank you!
Excited about this rebuild!
Me too! Thanks for watching!
Put the SSD locker hubs on it for the rear wheel drive option you talked about
Just got a chance to watch some WOTBW! Enjoyed it! Love this video format. Once again Thank you for the content.
Glad you enjoy it!
Definitely freshen up the metal work to match the fresh chassis and fresh axles.
I think the Range Rover is going to look great with the upgrades!👌😎👍
I think so too! Thanks for watching!
I would freshen up the metal work!!!
Keep all the bar work as is
Enjoying this new series!
I have a killerbody d90 non opening door hard body project that is waiting to get painted. Would be handy to have some tips on what to use to highlight the edges and door lines 👍
I use a thin sharpie or permanent marker to highlight the panel gaps. Thanks for watching!
I say fresh up all the black parts!
Love this series! Keep the episodes a comin!
Thanks for watching!
@@scalebuildersguild I watch all your videos! Love em!

I wonder if some Tech Deck wheels would work for the rail system for the Traxxas hauler? They’d be slick enough to slide nicely and are already set up to work with mounting hardware.
Maybe spray the bars with truck bed liner to give it some texture
I still run OG SCX10 parts! I have 6 of them!
Idea for what’s on the bench: getting rid of the MOA on a kyosho rampage outlaw prerunner. Hehe, only because that’s what I want to do. Have a great day!
Repaint, restore, put your own scratches on it
the patina on the bar work is hard to clean up and repaint, i think it looks great.
Paint the brush guards to match the nice frame. Keep your 4WD truck as is. I would like to see you build a 2WD but start it as a new build.
I watched your weathering vids, did a whole power wagon cab in sophisticated finishes i was nervous but it turned out great . Did add alittle weight though.

Matt love your weekly show. Currently working on the Tamiya yj jeep hard body. Would love to see what your recommendations on what you would use for a chassis, motor, ect or how you would build it. Anyway love the show and information.
Hi! Look for a chassis from MST, TWS or RC4WD SWB. Motor probably brushed 35Y would be perfect. Thanks for watching!
The moa trucks Josh is building can be fun if u look at it like a custom one off purpose built off-road buggy and put your own flare on it by adding an interior and driver
Keep it up weekly I dig it 👌 😎
Thanks! Will do!
Freshen up the bar work, maybe just add the rust and “enhance” the battle scars on the OG paintwork on the body
Surprised your not going Vanquish chassis kit. Loving the series keep up the awesome work.
Thanks for watching!
Keep it rustic with a little clean up but not to much with light coat of paint over the original rust to keep with the looks of the body
yes do the paintjob on metal pieces
Definitely freshen up the metal work, those join look a little rough
Technique Squidward!!!!🤣
Paint 'em
I thank you all for coming back to this weekly meeting, my name is Eric and I’ll start, I’m Eric and I’m an RC ADDICT. Yes weathering
😂
Loving this series !
Thanks for watching!
I'd let that cage patina roll, man. It's hard to find vintage scratches these days. Psyched on this build and glad you decided to revamp it.
Thanks for watching!

Leave the tube work and bumpers as is so it matches the body's wear and tear.
2WD rooster tails will make for great video 😉
love your vids man!!! keep up the hard work
New paint on the metal with old patina paint on the body.
You should put wider axels on it.
I would keep the metal work as is
Dancing to the intro can't be wrong
😂
I got a set of RC4WD axels on my scx10ii for axial fest and almost didn’t let me run it! Luckily it was my only truck so tech let me slide 😅
Freshen up metal work
If gonna paint the body then the metal should compliment it as is thus making faster progress. Great job on the window cut outs. Too many 4x4 yeah try a 2WD. Should catch great videos blasting some dirt but either way should be fun. 👍

A rough black rhino paint would spruce the metal work in a positive direction for your build
Hey Matt, I think that if you are keeping the original paint, that the metal work should stay the same. Keep it all looking fluid, maybe hit the chassis and axles with some weathering.. That could be for another video 🤔. That's something that I always want to do, but never do..
