- Here is PART 5 of My Pinball Collection featuring the Williams science fiction movie tie-in from 1995, Johnny Mnemonic.
Many of you have asked to see more pinball videos. So, here is a quick "close-up" of one particular machine in my collection. I hope you enjoy it and look for future installments coming soon.

*It's an OLD website I created, very basic....but, it has a lot of information in it.*
Great video!! :D great editing as usual!
George Gomez also designed "Revenge From Mars", one of only two "Pinball 2000" games.
Watching these sure brings back some memories. I remember when I was alot younger (8 or 9 at the time) that I would play pinball in its dying age and still have a great time with it. My favorites being alot of movie liscensed machines. Ones like Terminator 2, Jursassic Park, and of course the Adams Family machine. However I want to one day own the Jurassic Park machine. It is to this day the only machine that I've ever gotten Wizard Mode on. In face I held the top score until the arcade closed.
I agree. I think when you go in with the right attitude (it definitely swings into the B-movie category)...it's a cool sci-fi flick. : ) Thanks for watching!
Surprising. I've never heard of this machine before, but Mr. Gomez is a fantastic designer...going to have to attend a convention or something to just find this one. Thanks for the great vid.
Thanks Again mate. Theres a Johnny Mnemonic near where I live in Sydney Australia, nice to see it in action.
Thanks for all your pinball vids! I love them!!!
Great little video. Have never seen much on this game, but it's good to see some coverage.
Great video, thanks a lot. I remember playing this game when i was kid, and i really enjoyed it.
Man, Chris you are kinda getting me into pinball. I loved it as a kid but not like I did retro consoles. Along with these vids, and my recent purchase of Alien Crush, you may be creating a "pin-monster!" Great vid as always, bud!
@Mingo3k I had a Cirqus Voltaire for almost three years, yes. I sold it around 2002, I think. Thanks for watching.
Been looking for JM for over a year. Finally tracked one down with almost zero cab fade and working data glove. Wooooo! This game really does rock! Just gotta look over the theme. Going to be placed next to my Shadow. :)
i must be one of those few crazy people that actually likes Johnny Mnemonic as a film. I really enjoy it for it's sci-fi, futuristic, environment that really shows some creative though processes at work in making it for the story. The story is another thing i find enjoyable as it gives a sort of suspense to what is happening or might happen. as for the acting, i'm neither for or against it. Keanu seemed right for playing a character that was rather emotionless and high strung near the end.
That's one of those games I'd be stoked to see on location and try out. Don't think I'd ever want to actually own one.
In the 10 years I've owned Johnny Mnemonic, I've never had a spinner. And for most of those years, the glove hasn't moved an inch, so it's now disabled. But, I still enjoy it and can get great scores!
@modbradshaw I completely agree. I think JM is totally underrated for its speed. I love whipping that ball around that playfield. You know?
Ah yes, The Shadow....we'll get to that eventually. Ha ha.
"Shadow?" "Margo!"
@VinceLatello I did have a TZ project game. I wasn't happy with the condition so.....I will get that again someday (if I ever can start collecting again). :) :)
@bencheshire Oh cool, cool. Underrated game, IMHO! Thanks for watching!
Another incredible review Chris! Never dissapoint with these reviews! JM is usually overlooked, but shouldn't, because you'll hardly find another adrenaline rush of a pinball. Dying to see the next video, hoping its Johnny Mnemonic's neighbor....aka "The Shadow". Another game where you have to ignore the license, because the gameplay itself is incredible and should not be missed. "The sun is shining, but the ice is slippery!"
@MrHitchcockFan Hey, thanks! Hmm....I haven't really chosen the next one. I was able to film 11 of the 16 segments before I moved so, I've been trying to "mix things up" a bit. I might do a Stern pinball next. Perhaps. :)
I remember i played it,when i was on vacation in 1999,good times :}
Another fantastic review of another good pinball table :) keep them coming!
Are those actual human gloves it uses? as in you could actually wear them?
But can't you buy any sort of UV protector to avoid color fade? I know there's one available for consoles to stop them going yellow now.
@cernex New pin vids hopefully in September once I get them shot. Ha ha
Thanks for watching!
@rngpro Thanks for watching my friend. :)
Well....in JM's defense, at least you get to "interact" with the toy. Thing does nothing but pick up the ball on its own. Ha ha. :)
@misterintellivision Sigh, I know. It's a different world. I'm just thankful I can share them with others. Thanks!
Great video as always Chris and now i would like to play this Pin and see how i would like it lol.
I love your pinball vids
@scir91 I can't say I have seen a purposely placed magnetic strip on a pinball, no. I mean....they toss in unique magnets to screw with the ball sometimes (like Addams and the new Iron Man, especially). But, I've never seen one with that mean of a disposition. Ha ha. :)
@ChrisMolyneaux93 Yeppers. He was one of the spear-headed masterminds behind that amazing technology. :)
Great Review like usual. I am suprised you dont have a twlight zone game. Man I loved that one as a kid.
as usual, fun and informative. makes me want to go to an arcade.
*Looks like the MCP from Tron is in this game!*
@pocketmego I know the movie, yes. Thanks for watching! :)
@snethss Nice. Thanks for watching.
@tryton1000 Thank you for watching them. :)
This pin is awesome as hell. Shame that people ignore it because of the theme.
@SkippyChurch Totally. I quite enjoy it. Ha ha.
Have a great one!
Question: Have you ever heard of the shoddy FMV game that they did for the movie?
@nlafavore Not if they had gone with a non-licensed theme. Which is what I was suggesting.
None of my games are for sale. Thanks.
@darkinertia2 The collection you are playing is great. I think they did a good job "recreating" those tables. You could also look up Visual Pinball and VPinMame. The tables don't always play that great (and it's a pain to get the program working sometimes). But, people have literally recreated almost every single table out there. Ha ha. :)
@nlafavore Ha ha. Yeah....not really. Once I started taking different priorities in my life a few years ago, I had to put the collection on hold. So, I'm just hanging on to them hoping someday when things calm down I can start the collection up again. ya' know?
Dope vid chris keep em coming.
@Nigaromia Thanks for watching!
How much did you buy this pin for, back in ‘04? I’m really curious, as it’s 2021 now, and pin prices are insane
Also, they had to call the machine "Johnny Mnemonic" because that was the name of the movie!
Hey spida1a, just curious, in your collection, do you have a Circus Voltaire? I LOVED that machine so much, the one i played most often had a lot of sticking parts, but i just wish i could afford a machine!
@vlad48329reborn I actually didn't mind it either. To me, it is a great B-movie sci-fi flick (the problem was, it tried to promote itself as an A-movie and....it aint, ha ha). I liked it. :)
Thanks for watching
whats a good pinball game simulator you would recommend? im upset at myself for not taking advantage of pinball games when i had the chance when i was a kid...i was really into lightgun games at the time so i skipped over pinball games every time and now im just getting into it and i cant find a single arcade in my area:( so ive been playing the williams collection and gottlieb lol
@kindaaredneckkindaar Yeah, I hear ya'. Welcome to pinball of today. You know? Ha ha.
Thanks for watching.!
Woot! Please keep this vids coming!
@NadrianATRS Ha ha. Awesome. Let's "spin the big wheel"! :)
@spida1a So basically, you're saying you haven't played them as much as you used to in the past few years.
6:35 What the hell?! Is that the MCP? You know, from Tron? Sure looks like it.
@samo0701 Very cool! I think it's a lot of fun but a lot of people just don't give it a chance. You know?
thanks for watching!!!
Well, it definitely has one of the strangest video modes, and my Johnny Mnemonic's glove hasn't moved an inch for 8 years, so my game is always fast, and it didn't come with a spinner, so I've never had one.
@Duske69 I read about it by googling "pinball machines in sydney". Apparently its at the Clare.
This is a pretty good game. It is pretty cheap, even buy Australian standards. You can get one for about $3800, not bad.
Check out more action on this exact same Johnny Mnemonic pinball machine on our channel! Just posted a video. Thanks for fixing this game up so nicely, Chris :)
I am not a big fan of Licensed Pinballs. However, this one was a really good one!!
@nlafavore Keep in mind though, I haven't really collected anything since 2007........the last few years really don't count. :)
@jumblejunkie Ah yes. My friend Thomas is more on the "arcade cabinet" collecting side. So, one day I helped him restore a pinball and he helped me restore / re-built one of my favorite arcade machines. Ha ha. :)
@jedahdoma Thanks for watching! :)
very good video (( as per usual ))
But, Ive never heard of this movie
@mhc12k You got it. Thanks! :)
@modbradshaw Excellent! Enjoy!
Hey Chris, did you ever sell the JM bin all?
Well, you've had it for 6 years, so at least you've had it for a fairly long time, even if it's not a "keeper".
@nlafavore I see what you mean. Yes. But, they could have found a way to incorporate all of that stuff and re-worked it in a more generic way.
Oh well.....I still love it. Screw what other people think! Ha ha.
So if the pinballs are in storage now... what's gonna happen to them?
Keanu Reeves...the only actor to appear in 2 pins?
His imagine also appears on Bram Stroker's Dracula.
cool to see more videos
Great review as always. I love to see a new video from you in my subscription box. Brightens any day for me. It looks like a pretty fun machine but the gloves gimmick seems a little boring unlike the way thing works in the Addams family machine.
@svicciarelli Sigh, I wish arcades were "what they used to be." Makes me want to go also. Ha ha. :)
And Cardy hardy from straight down the middle is doing a restore.
Coincidence youth judge.
@tiakpark That's the "Power Master".
@HappyConsoleGamer Ah, shucks. Ya' flatter me! Lol. :)
@spida1a yeah i actually looked that up after you said it in one of your vids and i got a couple tables working after a couple of hours of messing around with it, but sadly my comp cant keep up with it in high graphics or even medium...it is awesome actually being able to play some pinball games i remember from my past, although i coulda swore theres a spawn pinball but i cant find it...i might of mixed it up with something else lol
Damn spellchecker….’pinball’
@spida1a IMHO? I've heard of IMO, but not IMHO. What's it stand for?
@Corad4 The game is fast-paced. The movie.....eh.....it all depends. Ha ha. If you go into the film with the attitude that "It's a B-movie sci-fi flick," I think you'll enjoy it. I did. Problem is....they originally advertised it as an A movie, and it aint. You know?
I still liked it though.
@vlad48329reborn Well, that's what I mean. It was disguised as an A movie. The trailers, publicity, the name-stars at the time (you assumed that was how it was going to be due to how they marketed it). You know? But, a lot of people were turned off when they found out it actually was more of a B-flick. Me? I love B-flicks so.....I'm easy. Ha ha.
I really liked that movie when I was kid probibly would have done better if they named it somthing differant , it is a great pinball game I rarely see it though
@Jimmyofthepages lol! Not at all. I liked it also! But....shh, don't tell anyone. Ha ha.
@spida1a Really? You haven't played any one of your games for that long?
i think if it was an A-movie it might have been worse. i haven't seen too many good or great films come out of the BIG film companies lately. but then again, that's in the last 10 years. this was a 95 release.
@spida1a I couldn't agree more. Still Iron Man looks great!
@bencheshire Where in Sydney???
@spida1a Yes, they still count.
@swiv2d Ah....shucks. Thanks. :)
This was the easiest pinball machine I ever played. The board was not easy, but dropping the ball with the glove could get you a ton of balls.
hey is'nt this a midnight maddness game ?
@TheCrulZ2348 Sure is! Watch my "pinball party" video (if you get a chance). Someone hits it... haha. :)
@spida1a True, but then all the elements of the movie would have to be taken out and it would be a totally different game. I actually like the game because the 50 video frames are scenes in the order which they happened in the movie.
Like Keanu Reeves will say Woo.
sold?
@spida1a Anytime. I watch because I enjoy it, but also because I'm extremely jealous. If I'm every around your side of the world, I'll make sure to stop by and crash your joint. ;)
@ScrewAttackEurope No, they're not actual gloves. Ha ha. They do have some sheets you can put around the cabinet, but who the hell wants to do that. Just keep the shit out of the sun, and you're golden. :)
@deafmonk19 Great! :)
@nlafavore Ha ha. Not really. I haven't played the games for basically the last few years. So no. :)
