I used to play this game in a small bar in college known for always having the 5 best pins available at the moment. Whenever someone set off the shaker, the whole bar shook. Someday I will own a mint copy of this game. I'm glad you do.
loved this vid. it took me right back to when i was 14 !!!!! they used to have this in an arcade called " seapoint " in salthill , galway. the arcade is still there , but sadly 95% of the games are not, inc this pinball machine. they only had a small collection , namely this and addams family , and the others were T2 and star wars, revenge of the sith , which is my fav of all time.
@Konuvis Yes, I have seen that one . I actually own the original release on the Wii (that doesn't have the MM and couple newer tables). It plays pretty well and surprises me how good they got the physics on it. You know? Thanks!
Great review! I just received this pinball machine from a friend it sat in a storage unit for 10 years I brought it home and it turned on I removed the double a batteries that had corrosion so i will have to replace that holder and all the rubbers need replacement but can't wait to play it machine looks great!
@shorty1k Haunted House is a fun game. It is not one I would buy personally (I'm not much into the System-80, early Gottlieb machines). But, it is fun. That's a tough one to buy as well...notorious for being a wreck and always busted. Make sure to pick one up from a collector who has gone through it and re-worked the whole thing. Hee hee. Thanks for watching, as always!
@Corad4 The "shaking" doesn't mess with you as much as you would think. It's more of a little rumble that you feel in your hands. You know? Electro-mechanical games? Yes, I have played many of them. :)
You're right. The mid to late 80's Williams pins were the best. I like their early dot matrix ones also but have a soft spot for the pre dot matrix ones. I just picked up an Earthshaker myself. Great game.
Wow that just brought back alot of memories for me as well. I played this at my local arcade ( when we still have one ) and the local bowling alley. I agree that the older pinball machines had a special something that the newer ones do not have.
@propcycle Hey Propcycle....thanks for watching and for the information. I will add that as an "annotation" for anyone who is curious about how to move the jackpot space. Thanks again. :)
I love Pinballs but I don't have a big knowledge about them and thats why I love your pinball vidéos so much because they provide very interesting informations about them. so thanks chris for the awesome vidéos :)
@123Sideshow I shot 17 total segments (with the 17th segment having quick looks at Family Guy and Big Bang Bar, didn't need full ones of those, and two project games Pinbot and Banzai Run). :)
@zfcamaro Any footage of me playing Earthshaker? I have mostly the footage I shot for the show (nothing that really focused on the gameplay, you know?). Ha ha. Thanks a bunch for watching!!
@sfchris Hey sfchris! That's great. Thanks for sharing the memories. It definitely isn't mint....but an excellent above average game. You know? I'm glad to have it. Thanks for watching!!!!
Yes! Be waiting for a new Pinball video from you Chris and i finally got one woot! lol. Never played Earthshaker but i have played Whirlwind more than a few times.
i love earthshaker and whirlwind. although i did play more of whirlwind instead given that it had the cool spinning cyclone in the middle of the playing field. unless i'm thinking of another pinball. it's been about 15 years since i played any pinball games. can't seem to find them anymore.
Very well done and nice editing. I just picked up a BK2000 and Earthshaker is the next pin I'd like to get. 1989 is when I started playing as well and those were the two that I pumped the most quarters into. Do you happen to have any footage of you playing the game??? It would be nice to see a few minutes of someone who know exactly how to beat it.
Hey, Chris. I was looking into picking up an Earthshaker machine. And, I was wondering if you could help me out with a few questions: The offer price is $1500, and he claims it's in OK condition. At that price, and considering I'll need to do some work to put in good condition, do you think this is a fair price? Also, what major flaws or areas should I be most concerned about fixing up? (What costs the most to fix?) Thanks a lot! Love what you've done for the pinball community!!!!
Another awesome review Chris. Please keep them coming! Can't wait till you let the genie out of the bottle, talking about the movie-bomb license games that are easy to miss....but absolutely should not if your into pinball (The Shadow & Johnny Mnemonic).
Very nice example of an ES you have there.. You don't seem to be aware of how the jackpot works; it is sequentially advanced with each served ball and every time you clear the drops (billboard). It's one of the most important parts of the game since you want to try to nudge it to 1.5M+EB or up to 2.5M during multiball.
you know i just was there playing it last weekend and it dose not have the family rom ar sinking building but i kept playing it and had the time of my life
I remember this one as well, My dad owned a pool hall. Nobody new what the hell was going on when it started shaking, but the girls seem to like it, they kept leaning up against it. lol
@dickcheney6 I don't have any experience with older Stern machines. But, I do enjoy Meteor. I would post on the rec.games.pinball newsgroup with your problem. Someone will have the answer for sure. Thanks!
@mnkycmkydu It really all depends on make, model, rarity, condition, etc. Too many variables to judge. But, you can look to pay about $1500 for an average "Earthshaker" (that has some wear, more so than mine does). Give or take of course.
Another game that has a nostalgic partner just like Fish Tales / White Water. Williams should have not been cheap with removal of the prototype collapsing building. A honorary remembrance again when many sound clips were REUSED in Creature from the Black Lagoon.
when i got it to shake i thought the ball was stuck and it ment it was trying to get it out also i have this on visual pinball and i also herd that line but i'm used to hearing bad words
cool . they have one at like chuck e cheese and happy joes. ( happy joes is a smatt chain in my area and it has a little game room) lol @##!$@$# was on the game i thing ill try out it more offen
Pat Lawlor is God (of pinball..) After TZ, and Roadshow, Earthshaker is my 3rd favorite Lawlor table - I think Addams Family is an overrated remake of Whirlwind. But Whirlwind has the charm that Addams Family doesn't.
I used to play this game in a small bar in college known for always having the 5 best pins available at the moment. Whenever someone set off the shaker, the whole bar shook. Someday I will own a mint copy of this game. I'm glad you do.
"It's sunny drive time!" My favorite pinball machine of all time. Thanks for the video. "They locked on with all the hits!"
Game is currently installed at Gorman Street Pub in Raleigh NC - plays for a quarter. Current high score is 6+ mil. Shaker motor is fantastic!
loved this vid. it took me right back to when i was 14 !!!!!

@MultiDrJekyll It is from a "royalty free" set of music I purchased called "Flying Hands."
@Konuvis Yes, I have seen that one . I actually own the original release on the Wii (that doesn't have the MM and couple newer tables). It plays pretty well and surprises me how good they got the physics on it. You know? Thanks!

@TheGamerFromMars Thanks my friend. At home I used Adobe Premiere Pro (along with Photoshop and sometimes After Effects for graphics).
@Corad4 The "shaking" doesn't mess with you as much as you would think. It's more of a little rumble that you feel in your hands. You know?

@vinnieblacklodge Awesome. Working on part 4 now for hopefully next weekend.

@propcycle Hey Propcycle....thanks for watching and for the information. I will add that as an "annotation" for anyone who is curious about how to move the jackpot space. Thanks again. :)
@DragonHunterG There isn't any way to show a cabinet shaking on "camera." You can only feel it shaking. :)
Thanks for watching.
I love Pinballs but I don't have a big knowledge about them and thats why I love your pinball vidéos so much because they provide very interesting informations about them. so thanks chris for the awesome vidéos :)
@Doriguin Thanks for watching. I'm glad you enjoy it.
Road Show is great, too! :)
@Mrklementin Awesome! :)
Thanks for watching
love to see update on your pinball collection when pinball hot right now
@123Sideshow I shot 17 total segments (with the 17th segment having quick looks at Family Guy and Big Bang Bar, didn't need full ones of those, and two project games Pinbot and Banzai Run). :)
I just played this game for the first time today, so fun dude...
Never played a earthshaker but because of your review I want to play one
I remember Tilt at the Millcreek Mall! That place was awesome..
@Bakemon13 10? Good guess. Hee hee.
Thanks for watching, as always my friend.
@MrLapp Hey Johan! Thanks a lot! Means a lot!
They just released this game for The Pinball Arcade. I play it on my ipad and iphone sometimes. It's a great pinball.
@123Sideshow I'm shooting for another one this weekend. :)
You know your turbo and your pinballs man!!! Great episode

Amazing collection, man!

I think it's a lot of fun. :) :) Thanks for watching.
Great video Chris. Thumb up!
@nihilistbr Thanks a lot. They all of my favorites. You know?
@misterintellivision It's quite a fun machine. Thanks!

@TheCrulZ2348 Lots of memories there.....you know? :) Thanks!
4:47 that’s a clever refrence
Love that Nevada ane California diverter, that’s actually accurate, because the san andreas fault is there

Great!!! when did you film this?!
@HappyConsoleGamer Hey John. Like it says during the end title, I filmed most of the pinball segments in October 2009.
Hey...when's the next live gig?
Another awesome review Chris. Please keep them coming! Can't wait till you let the genie out of the bottle, talking about the movie-bomb license games that are easy to miss....but absolutely should not if your into pinball (The Shadow & Johnny Mnemonic).

Do you have cyclone or attack from mars if you don’t I highly recommend those pinball tables I couldn’t find a pinball emoji
@linkuofcourage I always liked it as well. :)
@jboypacman I have a Whirlwind segment for later. Ha ha. :)
@nlafavore Ha ha. Nah....it just bugs us crazy collectors. :)
It's tough to find a plastic set for this one to replace it.
@modbradshaw Ha ha. They are coming......slowly! :)
Do you still have this machine?
Sweet! I remember this pinball game. I actually remember the "Bitchiiiinnnn'' even more. haha
Great review as per usual. :)
That lines in medieval madness 2 but no one complained about it then ?
I noticed that your "Earthshaker!" isn't on free play.
when i got it to shake i thought the ball was stuck and it ment it was trying to get it out also i have this on visual pinball and i also herd that line but i'm used to hearing bad words
awesome
Well, it truly is a great game. "Ooh, bitchin'!"
Great Stuff as always. Do you own Haunted House? If I could have any pin, I think that would be it.
@greenemerald1 Love the 80s myself, and I was only a tiny kid. But.......still love it. Ha ha. :)
@Lorrer09 Ha ha. Yeah...that would have been even worse back then. Lol! :)

@scir91 Damn right! LOL!
I just uploaded a viddy of my earthshaker as a play through game play. Ohh bitchin!!
be sure to see my video of the machine there in action
EARTHSHAKER!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hopefully, that "cracked plastic" doesn't affect the game.
@nlafavore Clever. :)
it would be bad but funny if you actually broke it. when you were young how many people did you tell.
@MilonSecretCastle He he :)
Your pinball collection is... bitchin'!
this is a stick up...
now help me load this shit into the trunk.

Your gonna sell me on one of these machines soon I think!
Bitchin!
3:48 Winner's don't use drugs
You thought you broke it? That's just sad. Why did you think it was called Earthshaker!? 'Cause it shakes! :)
@SplatterTrigger I just might! Get your cash ready my friend! Ha ha.
A complain about a voice clip? Who knew?
Pat Lawlor is God (of pinball..)
