  • Today we install a Pipercross performance panel filter on Paul's Corsa VXR to test out the induction noises. This is an important part of your general car maintenance and should be carried out regularly.

    Hey!
    Thanks for doing the Video :)
    The airbox does alot to stop the noise really coming out, a common upgrade on VXR's is the cone filter!
    The foam filter will allow for better airflow though!

    Good job boys, keep up the good work! There is an enclosed cone filter kit available from K&N called a 57s. Quite pricey but may give the “whoosh” your looking for. Agree with other comments regarding open cone filters, they do get on your nerves over time.

      @@haphazardgarage6439 I was a bit sceptical having never bought any aftermarket parts for an engine before, but it seems alright! Not sure if i'm enjoying the noise too much or weather it uses more fuel - will find out in due course of ownership/fill ups - I have kept records of every fill up since purchase so I can work it out to an extent. I found your video of changing the seatbelts useful earlier today, I changed my rear speakers and needed the same sort of access. Of course you are not going to get the ‘whoosh’ regardless of the filter change it is inside a enclosed box designed to keep noise down. To get the noise change it to a cone filter OR drill the bottom of the box under where the filter stands.

    • @haphazardgarage6439
      @haphazardgarage6439  5 лет назад +2

      Manic King True for this model of car, but a panel filter change makes a massive difference to the noise on plenty of cars. Just hope this video helps at least one person from buying one for the sole purpose of noise.

    • @the_time_chambers_edge
      @the_time_chambers_edge 5 лет назад

      Oh yea sure it’s a good video I liked it. But you are just changing a rubbish panel filter to a decent one and the woosh noise would just the the factory recirculating blow off valve. And because most the time when a cone is used and it’s all open then you can hear it much better. but it’s all good.
