This moment for me was unquestionably the greatest in the entire series. This kid starts out as the weakest duelist in a group of actual legends. His desires and motivations are genuine, but he always seems to fall victim to his fear and hesitation. Slowly but surely throughout the show, his courage grows to match his aspirations. Then finally, he shows how much he's grown by literally sacrificing his life to protect his friends and sister. Despite having the mark for the least amount of time, in my eyes Lua is the best Signer hands down.
I love Crow and Blackwings and i use them on TCG, but i hate what they did to Lua in the series because of how popular Blackwings were. He should have been the 5th Signer and he were cast aside so Crow could have the spotlight

If you ask me if Lua didn't awaken team 5ds would have not been able to change the future because he was the change. Dialogs from zone, aporia, and paradox I duel links can help confirm this as they say "history never said this boy was a signer!" And without Lua awakening yusei couldn't duel zone since aporia wouldn't have lost and if he did he wouldn't have had hope for 5ds to change the future.
I wanna call this "revolution of hope". It has that feeling to it, especially when Rua said that the courage to protect the future of he world is a revolution.
I really wish he became a signer back during the Dark Signers arc. I was always waiting for it as a kid, and while I'm happy he got it eventually, I still wish he got it before.
Same, but he'd have to become a Signer _after_ Yusei and gang had already beaten Godwin; the Signer Marks weren't reshuffled until the Crimson Dragon rejected Godwin, and the 5th birthmark (Dragon Head) was still on the disembodied arm. Him just being a Signer at that moment wouldn't have been as cool as him awakening after sacrificing himself for Jack and Ruka.
Well he was meant to be the 5th signer and get the Dragon Tail originally. Crow was planned to be the final Dark Signer to beat. I mean the condor is also a dark winged beast. But due to him and the Blackwing series becoming popular both in anime and irl game, the writers decided to make him the 5th signer instead.

@@okagron I guess by that point the anti-Synchro threat was no longer a big threat. Yusei already had a way of countering it. But in the other duels, the threat was new. Be it a 3v1, Zushin, or the 3 Nordic Gods, they were new challenges
Life stream dragon was never dead, it was gravelly wounded, but not dead. It needed to heal and it did, but for it to trully awaken it needed its signer to awaken as well and call to it.
There was an interview with kazuka Takahashi and the writers of 5ds asking the correct spelling of characters. Marik is indeed marik. And even though the romanization of their names in the show was Luka and Lua, it is infact Ruka and Rua. Seems even they get confused with the L's and R's.
In French it's written Ruka and Rua in the subs. But the Rs and the Ls are extremely close in Japanese, it's basically the same thing. It's like Selena and Serena in ArcV. There isn't a correct translation, both are correct
I was never the biggest Fan of Lua, but after that he is probably one of my Favorite Characters in whole yugioh. This scene was really STRONG. From the Death, to the resurection Into Lifestream Dragon. But sadly they still did my Girl Aki dirty.

Well he was supposed to be a signer, but Crow got the job back in season 2. I know in the end result in just came out of nowhere but I still like the concept of Rua as a signer more than Crow, who to be honest became one cause of Deus Ex Machina as well.
