When life gives you a tambourine, play it like a lead guitar.
Best comment ever.
I might tattoo this on my chest.
I shall live by that motto for now on!
Yes!
There he is :)
Damn right!
I've never seen a tambourine played so passionately. 😂
NEEDS MORE TAMBOURINE!!!
Good all Ray
Yes,it’s his style,Ray Cooper!
That was amazing!!@
when Elton John lets you snap your fingers on stage, you snap the shit right outta those fingers.
That tambourine player is my hero
Ray Cooper, simply amazing.
yeah he is animated.
Rafael Rico the man Elton a great
He's automatic
Ray Cooper is a great percussionist. He is also great at the Piano. Watch Elton’s Saturday Nights Alright in Moscow 1979. That shows ray coopers skill. That entire concert was great.
The tambourine man loves his job, definitely changing my outlook on life from here on out
He was being attacked by a bee
@@JohnDoe-on6ru lmao 😂😂
I want him to sing a Song for me.
That's Ray Cooper and he is the best percussionist on the planet. He's been in Elton's concerts for years.
His voice matured beautifully
He's not quite singing at the same range when he originally premiered this song, but then again, neither am I and I'm not a pro like Reginald is! However, he still has great vocal tone for performance regardless of the key or range; I can only hope my voice will survive that well into my sunset years!!!!
@@algallego he also had surgery to remove cysts on his vocal chords in the 80’s which made his voice deeper and affected his range
@@algallego why are you calling him that it’s Elton
@@josephdansfield8134 "Elton John" is Reginald Dwight's stage name, if you didn't know...
the tambourine man is a living metronome
A force of Nature
He's unreal for his age, I sung this song at my wedding a few weeks ago, I'm a musician and my wife was a ballet dancer :)
Michael that's awesome brother. Congrats to you
And good on you, Michael. So lovely to hear that.
congrats!
Cringe level 10
@@duckwalker3744 The only cringe here is you saying something like that about someone being happy doing what they love with who they love. Maybe someday you'll get it. :)
I’ve seen many people play the tambourine before, and none of them memorable....but I won’t forget this guy.
Do you remember him
Ray Cooper 😃
0:00 *me reading the comments* : what the hell are these guys talking about?
2:45 oh, there he is. 😂
Lmao same here!
looks like he dabs with it at 3:21
Hes amazing..
😂😁🤣😀😂😁🤣😂🤣,my GOOOSH

Ахахаххаха
Hold me closer, young Tony Danza

No shit!!!!!! It sounds like tony danza
his voice has changed a lot since 1971.. :-P Still awesome though!!
Prithvish Banerjee his voice has matured as he got older. He's still amazing! I've seen him live once and it was an amazing show!
Hes had throat cancer.
Prithvish Banerjee because those songs are timeless
I first heard Elton John's voice when I watched the Lion King as a kid and I first heard his original voice when I listened to "Rocketman" last year
Ray cooper on the tambourine. Legend!
Definitely!! The guy is a show all by himself. Elton loves the guy.
He’s one of the best piano players of all times . His hands are magical on a piano when he plays he plays it gracefully and never misses a key , Some people are just so blessed to be born with his kind of talent he’s magical love me some Elton John
I grew up with Elton. I love him.
@@aidanharley243 ok
Aidan Harley This poor old lady
I have a fever, and the only cure is more tambourine
I’m one lucky son of a biscuit! I was born in 1958 and I have gotten to experience some of the GREATEST MUSIC EVER! My experiences were listening to it on the radio, on vinyl albums, “8 Track” tape, cassette tapes, DAT and CD. I’ve seen very few acts live but I can create my own concert anytime thanks to the 21st Century. If I die tonight I will feel fulfilled because I got to experience this! TY Sir Elton John for your decades of entertainment!
Shut up old racist. I bet you used to call blacks nigger back in your day. You're the reason we are still dealing with race issues.
Vi von Zul lu shut tf up your the one bringing it up so your the problem. This man didn’t say on thing about race. He was just saying he got to experience good music. Not every old guys racist dumbass. Get educated
@@vivonzullu7112 Think before you post. Might stop you from saying some stupid shit next time. Or maybe that head of yours is too empty and this is falling on deaf ears, in which case I pity you.
@Vi von Zul lu people like you disgust me. you probably think you are a better human than him just for making empty accusations. you probably haven’t done shit to stop racism so why act like you have?
@@vivonzullu7112 what a silly comment. Are you really that thick , fuck me I cannot believe what your saying
Came to look for comments about the tambourine player.
Wasn’t disappointed haha
One of the best performances i've ever seen, and the crowd is not even moving.
I believe that Bob Dylan was thinking of this guy when he wrote Hey Mr. Tambourine Man.
Great point. Possibly wrong given how cagey Dylan's always been. But I get your thinking. Nice!
Hey Mr. Tambourine Man! I was thinking the exact same thing.😄
he's been singing this one for decades..and any time I hear it, from any time he was singing..it's always the most beautiful version :)
long live elton!!
LOVE Ray on percussion!!! Thee BEST ever!!
Good old reg and the legend ray cooper. Timeless 👌👌👌👌👌
Tambourine first at 2:45 in case you were wondering

Ray cooper is the man. Rhythm of the music coursing through his veins... class 👌

One of the last true remains of good pop music.
Sooo good very cool enton jhon this EL SALVADOR FANS NUMBER ONE
the tambourine players name is Ray Cooper if anyone is interested
he sang this 50 years ago......and still killing it....
Started listening to Elton a little while ago, I’m 15 and I CANNOT wait until I can see him in concert next year. What a talented musician. I went from listening to filthy rap all the time to Elton John. Interesting change.
Congratulations
definite upgrade!!
Upgrade for sure
Hahaha, yes a very interesting change. What brought it on? Was it one particular song? When you find the time listen to Indian Sunset and Come down in time. I could suggest songs of Elton's for you to listen too but it would talk to much time. I'm happy you've crossed over. :) I saw Elton when he first came to Seattle in 1975, he was absolutely amazing, his vocals were perfect, I will never forget that concert and my beautiful girlfriend Sue, I lost her but I'll never forget that concert.
Well done Elton, you still ROCK!
Always been my favourite Elton song...
Ray Cooper is cool as Hell.
Elton John is always superb and timeless 🙏🏻
Different octave, but equally as amazing. No one has anything on Sir Elton!
One of the best songs he's ever done! It's in the original key of the 1972 album "Madman Across the Water". The song is about Bernie Taupin's girlfriend at the time. She was the seamstress for the Elton John band. Taupin later married her.
it came out in 71
Love all of eltons music.since1972
I love Elton John's music He is one of the great artist his voice is amazing!!!
I had to skip to 2:45 to see the tambourine man..... I wasn’t disappointed!
Saw him in 76 with ray cooper ( tambourine man) and Nigel Olsen (guitar man) fantastic then and Captain Fantastic 40 years later
Behold! The piano God himself. This is so good.
how does Elton keep going what an artist man's electric unreal
I am so thankful you uploaded this concert!!! I wouldn't know what to do without it. Thank you for the uploads!
2:45 is me every time i listin to queen and elton's songs
The guy with the tambourine - what a fking legend.
That's Ray Cooper and he is the best percussionist on the planet. He's been in Elton's concerts for years. Ray is amazing!!
Brilliant artist, timeless song's ❣️❣️❣️
i like the fact that we can concentrate on the tambourine guy bc there us nothing else to be said abt Elton ;) what a fucking masterpiece :)
MERCI MR ELTON JOHN
The most beautiful voice on Earth.
You know shit is serious when every fkn musician plays their own signature instrument....
One of the most beautiful songs ever written. Period

Man!!! that's just brilliant stuff!!!
WoW. This is his best.
Good job! Mr.Ray Cooper!!
Elton still has it, what an amazing man, loved you Elton since the beginning. This performance is so beautifully polished. Check out those glasses he's wearing, they must have cost him thousands!! 😊😊
5:55 Love how he tweaked that line!
He didn't
@@Jakki_G exactly he didnt
The GOAT singing his masterpiece
The more Elton ages, the better his music becomes. 😎
2:50 seeing the guy at the back just made my day! XD
I LOVE Elton! But was mesmerized by the tamborine player !!
His voice gets more powerful with age
The first best thing about this video is the song, of course, the second...the tambourine man. HEY MR TAMBOURINE MAN PLAY A SONG FOR ME🎵🎶
A few years ago he came to my town of Sidney, Nova Scotia. He performed for two hours by himself. He was a perfect gentleman.
Stephen Bray When did he come to Nova Scotia?? I can’t believe I didn’t hear about that.
a true legend e.j 👏 plus that background 👏 idno what thats called but that background at the end
Nice song ever
Very good nice song
Love this song
Ivory Genius
All of his stuff great.
One of my favorites here.
Sempre magico
Amen. He is the way the truth and the life. No man comes to the father but by him. He is the Devine healer and saviour
I grew up with Elton. I love him.
Ray cooper on the tambourine. Legend!

Wasn’t disappointed haha
Hell of a show elton
Hey Mister Tambourine Man !!! you played a song for me during the Concert for George too 👍👍👍
That’s right!
Am i the only one who prefer the old Elton John compared to young Elton John? More bass to the voice.
Walter Samuel I like his deep bass voice he has now just sucks that he can’t hit the high notes like he used to especially on this song😢
@@soko9984 I know, its terrible that so many singers just can not hit those high notes theat they could do when the song was first released. But, just a fact of getting older I suppose.
Its a miracle the fact he's still playing nowadays.
I do miss his old voice, but the reason his voice is like this now is because of a voice altering throat surgery he had. It's amazing that he's still playing and singing.
Look up 1994-2000 shows. Ephesus 2000 is an amazing solo show.
I LOVE THE TAMBOURINE PLAYER HES SO AWESOME but let’s be honest there all great
That's Ray Cooper and he is the best percussionist on the planet. He's been in Elton's concerts for years.
How can people not like??? Love you Sir EJ
He still has it!
Ray Cooper es todo un espectáculo!!
The world needs another Rocket Man film for the tambourine player. The title is Tambourine Man.
Amen to that
That suit is glittering like stars in the night sky
Merci Elton John ...toutes les filles regardent cette chanson comme le plus vrai d'espoir capté comme il se doit par Bernie Taupin et Vincent Tondo
Elton is the only one singer whose voice is getting better with the age 🤔 pure perfection ❤️
"better".
Are you smoking crack
Arthur Morgan no they’re not, you’re just deaf.
@@peteaxe2067 Seeing as it's all a matter of personal preference, there is no right or wrong here, and you guys sound like dummies.

Lyrics:
Blue-jean baby
L.A. lady
Seamstress for the band
Pretty-eyed
Pirate smile
You'll marry a music man
Ballerina
You must've seen her
Dancing in the sand
And now she's in me
Always with me
Tiny dancer in my hand
Jesus freaks
Out in the street
Handing tickets out for God
Turning back
She just laughs
The boulevard is not that bad
Piano man
He makes his stand
In the auditorium
Looking on
She sings the songs
The words she knows
The tune she hums
But oh, how it feels so real
Lying here, with no one near
Only you and you can hear me
When I say softly, slowly
Hold me closer, tiny dancer
Count the headlights on the highway
Lay me down in sheets of linen
You had a busy day today
Hold me closer, tiny dancer
Count the headlights on the highway
Lay me down in sheets of linen
You had a busy day today
Blue-jean baby
L.A. Lady
Seamstress for the band
Pretty-eyed
Pirate smile
You'll marry a music man
Ballerina
You must have seen her
Dancing in the sand
Now she's in me
Always with me
Tiny dancer in my hand
Oh, oh, how it feels so real
Lying here, with no one near
Only you, and you can hear me
When I say softly, slowly
Hold me closer, tiny dancer
Count the headlights on the highway
