I'm very affected by Damien. Not because I follow his magickal teachings specifically, though I am reading his books, but because I kind of followed his story before he stepped out of prison. I was very pleasantly surprised when I discovered his journey with magick. I'm just impressed with the guy. I was very emotionally involved with his story. How can you not be? It's just a great "hero's journey " in modern times. He's an incredible human being. I wish him well and aspire to his level of strength in adversity. Everyone has something to learn from him.
had to reply to this. i agree 100%. Even though his knowledge is impressive and formidable i am more impressed by his grace, gratitude, and genuine love for his fellow man in spite of the hand he was dealt. i believe it to be genuine, so unless he's one of the greatest con men ever, you can't fake that kind of goodness. He is an inspiration!
The Greek word ‘pneuma’ which is the root of words such as pneumonia, pneumatic, etc., means both ‘air’ and ‘breath energy’. It is the Western equivalent of prana, chi, etc..
@RespectTheSpirits 😂You need to read Anaximenes - he clearly talks about pneuma meaning 'psychic breath' - or the energy from the breath which moves the body. The word pneuma needs to be translated in a contextual basis, and as such there are many examples where 'breath energy' is perfectly valid.
@@robincrowflies Thank you Robin. I suspect that 'RespectTheSpirits' is probably using aggression and rudeness in order to try and make his point sound more valid. It is a common ploy amongst those whose knowledge is poor. If you check early Greek literature, there is actually no commonly agreed usage of the word 'pneuma' for quite a few centuries. Anaximenes is one of the first to use the term, and when he does so he refers to two different types of 'pneuma'. One is the energy which moves through and animates purely mechanical things, such as a moving ball, or the Earth. The other is the 'psychic energy' which we draw in when we breathe and which subsequently animates us. Sounds almost identical to the idea of 'prana', or 'chi' to me. But hey, I'll leave it up to others to decide whether it is me, or 'RespectTheSpirits', who doesn't know what they are talking about.
@@SolveEtCoagula93 Makes sense that there would be a Western equivalent, if there's a word for it everywhere else. My only exposure to Greek literature is a translated edition of The Odyssey, so I'll take you at your word. ;-)
I was just thinking the same myself. I stopped doing all my rituals and energy work a few months ago, just hearing Damien talk about all this has motivated me to start again !
@@kobalt77 I've lost my way around practice a few times since I started, and somehow Damien's videos pop up in my feed like a little synchronicity, nudging me back to practice, forgiving myself for slipping but more so happy to get back to it!
my favorite explanation of magic is: you have eyes that cannot see and ears that cannot hear. you will not see magic sparks or blurs and you will not feel tingles or anything else- at first if ever. think of magic as x-rays you can't see or feel them but you have a way of interpreting the results. what we do have is a nervous system that can be used by the subconscious mind as a tool to feel strangeness. similar to the feeling of being watched or the feeling of being guided or protected.
I have not listened to Damien for ages. I forgot that every time he speaks I learn something, or remember something important I have forgot. Thank you so much for making and sharing this !
I love this guy! I have followed his story since before he went to prison and his journey has been a real beacon for me to keep going. Keep up the good work Damien!
magin from the norse, pnuma from the greek, numen from rome, sila from finnish or russian and slavic culture. But it's grate to see you teaching again Damien. Lots of love and blessings.
Brilliant, thank you for all this great content. FYI there IS a Western concept similar to chi/prana, it's "pneuma" or "breath", once a core concept in humoral medicine until this was chucked out after the Enlightenment.
Damien mentions the etheric equivalent to visual sight. Direct Internal Vision, Midbrain Activation and Extra Occular Vision have been used to explain the phenomenon. Apparently, a few devices that include monitoring activity in the eeg of blind children has allowed them to see through a toroidal shaped tunnel when eeg readings show Golden Ratio/PHI harmonics in the Theta, Alpha and Beta brainwaves. This not only allows the child an extrasensory vision but its also been shown to show increased cognitive functions, Increased memory functions, Increased emotional stability and verbality, Increased empathic ability and compassion, Increased self esteem, and Increased creativity and intuition. If these are one in the same, and are accurate, then it solidifies that the very phenomenon Damien refers to is not only learnable, but demonstrable as well.
Brilliant video and amazing comments. I would also second and agree that Pneuma is the Western equivalent for Qi or Prana. I would also add that so is the ancient Latin concept of the Anima and also as many others shared, the idea does exist in many European cultures and languages, also the old European concept of Vital Force or Life Force and the ideology of Vitalism. It does exist in the Western world and culture also, just that it’s a reality that has been discarded and rejected with the advent of materialism and reductionism and Cartesian logic, and also the Eastern systems have really detailed and elaborated etheric energy and work with it like it is a complex and sophisticated system in the same way science has discovered, broken down and elaborated such a complex and sophisticated system as the Cardiovascular System.

Frater Acher refers to the Ingenium. The magic mind. The tool the sees and directs. Not the eyes.
Clairvoyance is the term for second sight.

The Swedish name for spirit is the same as for bresth, Ande. So perhaps some parts of Western culture had an understanding of this 🙏

It's called vril
What did the Maya call it?
Is the aether the same??
I wanna try breath work without being a spotlight
no shortage of techniques, but for sure there are no set rules for magick, especially when one is naturally tuned in
I thought the Western understanding of that energy was called Vril?
Viril
western culture calls it mana^^
Chi , chigong, gong.
Our etheric self, I believe, is called a doppleganger,
What is "innergy"? Is that inner energy?
That's not what "As above, so below" means.
