Great race over the weekend! Loved seeing Jan take the win and that incredible run by Jason to take 2nd and of course Sam (YO YO YO) fly in late Thursday and take 5th on. Congrats Sam on the new edition!
Taylor looked great out on the run after pretty much soloing on the swim and bike. Would have loved to see a bit more coverage on the battle for 4-6th place between Lucy, Holly & Ellie since it was a tight finish for them

But really lacking in race info, too often didn't know who we were watching, not enough race info and splits. Also needed more coverage of athletes further down the field. Still room for improvement.

Thanks for the recap, what an exciting weekend. Also want to mention that Race Ranger was not mentioned once this entire recap, in my opinion that speaks volumes to how well this system works! No penalties, seamless integration and fair competition that is completely and entirely unobtrusive!

That Aussie commentator is brought on to give what opinion exactly? He claimed Jan was too far back and "This is the podium" right there...completely wrong on every level.

Pogacar can afford to put in that much wattage in a surge, because he does not have to run after crossing the finish line!

    27:26 professional belly flops?

  • @svenmehl2046

00:19:33 I find it difficult to dress changes in setups that aren't as easy to make for short athletes. Jan and Magnus are both over 6`3" i think, Kristian is around 5`8". If there are some sponsorship deals in the background it gets even worse. Have you ever tried du get cranks shorter than 165cm from SRAM? There aren't ones from SRAM and no aftermarket models. With the new Shimano group sets they have now shortened their schortest crank arms to 160mm. To change setup is easy to say if you are tall and have many more options!

Jan will be one of the greats but the GOAT at the moment is Mark Allen.
6x Ironman World Championships. 1x Olympic Distance World Championship. 11x Nice Champion. 22 straight victories over every distance over a 2yr period. That’s a race win nearly every 5 weeks. But it seems people forget.

It’s a great achievement for sure and Mark Allen is a legend, but back in his days, the sport wasn’t that competitive.
To be the goat, it’s not only about results but also about your person and your ability to inspire other people to the sport of triathlon. In this way, Jan is, probably next to Alistair Brownlee, the Goat.

Jan gave his swimsuit to a referee, so I think Jan knew he will not get a penalty if the referee takes his swimsuit

More like Blummelfelt overbiked and paid the price on the run. Kudos to the champ Jan for knowing his body and being smart enough to make his move on the run.
