- In this tutorial i show you the secret on how to fix and disable the back forward mouse buttons or reassign/ remap your the side buttons on your mice. This fix works on Logitech, Corsair, Microsoft and all pro mouses. Why program the extra side buttons on your mouse? well this maybe due to accidental presses on the side buttons because the buttons are so close to your fingers. watch this video so you will never have to worry about the extra button presses on your mouse ever again, this works on all windows vista, 7, 8 and 10 operating systems.

i dont want to COMPLETELY disable them. I want to be able to make it so they dont do anything when i press them but also be able to have them keybinded to other things
Amazing! It's 2022 and this tutorial still works. I'm thinking of buying a new mouse because I thought my mouse is faulty until I run a mouse test online and saw the two buttons on the side showing while my mouse physically doesn't have them. Now it works like new again. This video saved my mouse's life. Haha

I had some trouble because I cannot find the English version of the program in 2024, but i was able to fumble through the Spanish version by watching the tutorial. I looked in the extra language packs but there was nothing for English.
Straight to the point, downloaded the program and disabled the buttons - problem resolved! Thanks

Being left handed these buttons made using the mouse a nightmare. Thanks to your tutorial I can now after 2 years use the mouse that came with my keyboard.
Perfect solution for RedThunder mouse which came with no software to configure buttons. The side buttons kept getting bumped and taking me off pages I wanted to stay on. Thank so much. I will enjoy my new mouse now.👍

Great video! Rather than disabling the forward/back buttons, set the buttons to scroll window left and scroll window right. Most of the time it will do nothing but will operate navigation when relevant.
Thanks, finally I am in control again! I wanted to use this button for push to talk and windows wanted to have it as back button (and every other software as well). Not to mention accidental clicks...

My problem is not accidental clicks but computers (all) think that my wireless mouse has these buttons even though it doesn't have. As a result, when I click the middle mouse once, I have to click it first in other windows in order to control them which disables hovering features. When I opened mouse check sites, I discovered that once I clicked the middle mouse button, the system thinks it's the forward button and any other succeeding clicks is registered as forward.
After doing your solution, it works properly now!

thank you so much, i use Cooler Master MM711 great mouse for the price with top of the line sensor but with garbage omron switches, button 4 starting working itself, used this software to disable it! Will go to CM service center next week and will have it repaired or replaced under warranty!
i have 1 extra button on right side of my mouse which is linked to left click, still cant figure out how to disable it.. any help??

Thanks, I finally got rid of something that had been annoying me for years, I use the mouse buttons to discord push to talk and the browser always reacts to it, which is annoying.
Today I had enough and started looking to see if it would be possible to disable side buttons in the browser somehow.
Well I don't want to disable just don't want them to go back and forth and change dpi, I want to use this gaming mouse for ingame keybinds, so how would I do that
Downloaded it, disabled the side buttons, but so annoyed that it didn't work, the side buttons still send me back if I accidently catch them, Ive checked the settings, and they are showing that the side buttons are disabled, confused now!

My mouse doesn't have screws on it that I can see so I didn't have the option to open it up and remove these buttons. I was about to just pry them out and break them off of the mouse. Thanks to this video, I no longer have to do that.

I just taped the side buttons down. They only back space when you release the button. However, when you tape them down, it sometimes switches your left click to your right. But you can swap the click options back in your settings. . . . but if you're not cheap like me, download the program.

It is good, though the button I wanted to disable is not present in this application, which is either 11, or 12th button according to Logitech information, which is a button right next to the middle one and it changes the f**k dpi of the mouse when I press it, then the mouse becomes so slow I cant do anything untill I press the same button 3x again. Its so annoying.
