Lol "they" are the only reason why we can't kick out our companions anymore... The developers knew we would get sick of "them" after the first conversation..
I think it's also a reason there are no object collisions between the character models, people would get stuck trying to push companions off the nearest cliff 😂
I wouldn’t have even entertained the notion of recruiting her in the first place. In previous games you could straight up tell characters to hit the road upon first meeting them.
Watching the Veilguard trainwreck is almost as amusing as the "Starfield sucks" videos i got hooked on last year. The way they wrote Taash is so absurd, it almost seems like satire.
0:16 Oh boy, that escalated quickly. I mean that escalated really fast... You can feel the room temperature falling below zero. It's as palpable as the awkward silence.
Funny how even though its the worst written scene i have seen in a game in years, this scene still manages to have more emotion than anything else in the game we can really see where their priorities lie
“And I’m gonna use they instead of she from now on” No, you’re not going to use anything. You’re going to demand everybody else uses it, in your absence, when referring to you in the third person. That’s what you’re doing.
Obviously everything about this is ridiculous but I do have to say: The mother in this specific scene does actually have really good voice acting in my opinion.
Shitposting aside - it's still baffling to me that the writers of this game thought it's a good idea to include not only the charater of Taash, but also this dialogue. Both are a disservice to their cause to make so called non-binary people more visible and normalising them. Many people stated it and I'll agree - the whole situation gives away the impression that Taash was written by somebody who wanted to make fun of the non-binary concept.
sadly she was written by patrick weeks, who is a male but uses They/them😂😂😂....he wrote the beautififul deep character of Solas and then now this...omg. Dragon age has lost his core fanbase with veilguard.
@@ZeroOmega-vg8nq But Shale made sense in context because she was an amnesiac adapting to the literally sexless body she woke up in. She didn't really give two shits about being sexless other than stating it as bio... uh, golem fact.
Honestly in the beginning I thought this was voice over the game. I am really really all for inclusion and everything, but fitting this in a medieval dark fantasy world is like having a barbarian trading bitcoins with a knight.
And using word non-binary is also not good. In previous DA games there were gay, bisexual and transexual characters, but these words were never used, instead it was explained in more appropriate way that fit in to world of DA.
@@Aurilndia It's blatant self-insert fan-fiction. "Look everyone!!! I made my character into Dragon Age CANON!!! No one cares, because there's no choice in it. I started playing ME1 again recently, and I came across Ashley Williams' religious views in one of the dialogues. For a simple, throw-away line, you had the CHOICE to approve, be indifferent, or even dismiss her views. And that would, in a small way, reflect on your relationship WITH Ashley. If you make an NPC say "I'm X" and the only dialogue options are "Yay!!" "Cool!" or "I'm so happy for you!" you haven't given me a choice: you gave me another "Press X to Pay Respect" moment. It doesn't matter what I think MY CHARACTER would say, because I can't say it. I can only press a button to keep the convo going past this self-validation point.
This is *Dragon Age*, let that sink in. The last game revolved around an apocalyptic rift in the sky, the first game revolved around a blight and bloody wars. This conversation is happening in the same universe. It’s so absurd its hilarious.
Who the fuck starts a conversation like that you just say down/The mom didnt even seem-BAD about it just genuinely confused? I’m pretty sure she just said “Maybe you’re trans?” in the tongue of her people in that explanation she gave
She sounds like one of the Saints Row 2022 MC voices. Apropos, considering this game is basically the Dragon Age version of Saints Row 2022 - similar visuals, vibes, etc.
What’s wild to me is in the audio episode taash is an actually good dragon hunter who knows things that isn’t common knowledge about dragons. But in the game all they say about dragons is what a majority of people who study dragons know and doesn’t offer anything helpful outside of basic common knowledge that could be found in a dragon anatomy book. And then taash disrespects literally every companion yet demands respect from everyone. If BioWare continues with rook as a protagonist I really hope taash doesn’t come back as a companion cause there is literally nothing else exciting about taash compared to the other companions by the end of the game. I feel like it should have been Harding or taash not Harding or davrin.
I'm trying to understand what is going on with the timeline of Knights, Dragons and evil Gods and then all of a sudden someone says I'm Non-Binary it's like WTF is that. I'm sure in those days everyone f....d everyone and anyone regardless of gender. They ruined a perfectly good storyline with crap.
I'm part of the LGBT+ community, all in favor of any type o identification, and still find this character to be SO annoying and SO boring... I wish I didn't have them on my team at all...

It doesn't matter even if it were only one time. It's the same reason you don't suddenly have hitler dance around and join for dinner. And then when someone offers him a drink he goes "Sooo.... I actually dont like juice"
It's a mediaeval setting. Non binary is modern term. It's out of place. Of course we're going to take it out of context and have a good laugh at it. I don't why you're trying so hard to defend something that clearly is so busy trying to "spread the message" than actually being a game. You sound like the pathetic one 😂
@sandorjenei6554 Uhmm no...from the videos I watched and reviews I read it comes up in the game several times. Yeah nice try woke. You are the only people who are pathetic, not us.

Just wait for the modders to “fix” this problem, the at least this trash fire of a game would become somewhat playable.

Is this a real scene from the game? It seems like a terrible self-insert to me. The new teenage angst. You just don’t understand me mom!

I swear the title was written "Trash" instead of "Taash". That would have been correct as well.
Laughing half an hour after watching this... wasn't there anybody in BioWare studio stopping this madness?
They were all fired before they could
Now they can stop themselves from existing.

Such a fitting scene for a dark fantasy universe. Can't wait for when the characters whip out their iPhones and start doing TikTok dances
The character design for the mother was terrible too! And who thought to give Taash a little girl voice?!
