So one of my side jobs is I scan photos, crop, enhance and photo shop acne and scars out, my usual rate is 2 bucks a photo, and I request you provide your own external hard drive to save the photos/slideshow onto
Someone wanted a slideshow done for her daughter’s wedding and contacted me because she saw my work at a cousin’s wedding. So I asked how many photos will be scanned for this job, she said over 100 photos so I send her a copy of what I charge and to provide the hard drive for me to save the photos/slideshow onto.
She does the typical Karen move “200 dollars seems a little steep, can you do it for free? And I’ll write you a recommendation if someone else needs a slideshow done?” I say “I’m sorry I don’t work for free, but I’ll be reasonable and say “how about a dollar a photo”? Again she does a Karen move and says “can’t you just make my daughter‘a special day complete? I want to get a special gift for her”
I say “is the person marrying your daughter doing it for free? What about the baker? What about the store where she bought her dress? Did she get it for free? No? Then why should I work for free?”

I know a person who thinks that when someone gives her a ride, they had to adjust to her schedule instead of her adjusting to their schedule. You can do that to relatives (even they are tired of it eventually), but if someone offers you a ride, they will get pissed if your time is always off. She even get told in advance, yet she's always late. In the end, she can't get a pre booked ride from someone outside her family because of known altitude.

Not surprised one person needed time to find fabric to make more free masks and the other person had to use thread that clashed with the fabric color. I've been making masks for friends and family and the sewing and craft stores have been absolutely decimated of sewing supplies. Finding any color thread has been difficult for me but finding matching thread, elastic, bias tape and "cute" fabric is near impossible. Everyone and their grandmother is selling masks on Etsy and local classified apps so I have no doubt that CB is trying to resell free masks, it's a lucrative business right now.
