Pubs only close for Christmas now. Used to close Good Friday. A couple shops here open for a couple of hours Christmas Day for the inevitable need for batteries, but everywhere else will close. Only pubs, and off licences are mandated by law to close. Only exception would be hotel bars, and in that case only for residents.
