This type of journalism is ESSENTIAL for reality tv and influencers to have rights and be treated as employees. I always thought you were real af Statler and this is badass 👏🏻
🏖🏝 I loved Lindy. She was a great catch. Friendly, sincere, deserving, kind.
She deserves the best life!
Thank you and lots of love from a Day 1 MAFS fan. Lindy was such a gentle soul to watch on her season, I hope that she is healing well and thriving beautifully. 🫶🏾
THIS WAS BETTER THAN I HAD HOPED EVEN! What a fantastic interview! Thank you both so much for shedding light on a dark industry, telling so many stories, clearing up so many misnomers...it was so enlightening and entertaining. I messaged both of you in hopes of getting you together for an interview... what an absolute treat seeing you here, 2 of my favorite reality people❤
Thank you so much for your support!!
@TheTellAllPod You are a fantastic interviewer.
She wasn’t serious about the experience but then realizes it was real and the other person might of done the same as she did. Now it makes sense their matchup. We didn’t know as viewers
@@darlawestlaThe problem with people who watch "reality" tv, is those people like yourself don't understand how they edit the episodes to fit what narrative they want. Try watching and actually listening, to what Lindsay has to say. Sorry to burst your bubble but reality tv, isn't what it seems.
This is so invaluable not just for fans but for those who have been wronged by reality tv - the validation is so powerful. Kudos to you Statler!
What show were you on?
Can we please get more of these for people who could not tell their stories at a tell all? There are so many people who we or at least I would love to hear their side of their stories I think you have something good going on here !
Love that Statler has done this for the audiences 🥰🥰
I'm so glad you mentioned Unreal in here, I kept thinking about that show when you guys were describing your experiences. Thank you both for sharing. You both have a fan here....
Honestly i almost stopped watching 5 minutes in mostly because I didn’t watch her season but im glad i stayed .It still had a lot of good information about the show. Another great video👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
I've never seen any season of MAFS, but I've been told that I need to lol. Even though I've never seen MAFS, I still wanted to watch this interview cause I love Statler and I also always want to hear about any BTS things for any reality show because I've always been super into reality TV so I want to know what really goes on from cast members that lived it.
The show is interesting and gives a look into ppl who fall in love, with a stranger
Thank You Both!!! 😢😢😮😮😮😮😮😮All reality cast NEED TO KNOW THIS!!!😢😢😢😢😢😮😮😮😮😮
Loved it!!
It still blows me away that people don’t realize they watch a very cut and curated and heavily edited show when tuning into any of these programs. I’d love for you to get a love is blind participant to talk to. I think they’ve made it a point to show their contestants cooking in new seasons.
Good to see Lindy! I didn’t think they portray her as religious on the show. Love seeing her adventures on IG and I hated to hear how hard life was after the show.
Keep it coming❤️ people need to see the REAL Reality! Hopefully your podcast makes a difference in Reality TV!
Way to put the Real in reality. It makes my heart sad to see what people go through for entertainment. Thank you for doing these videos.
You guys make a lot of good points, especially with the therapy aspect. I remember reading that the winner of the original The Circle in the UK (Tim) was a huge advocate for reality show participants being part of the actors union so that they can have more resources, protection, and be paid at least the union minimum. I feel like that is something that should seriously be in the conversation in the US.
in MAFS it was very clear that Lindy had escaped from religion and was healing from religious trauma. I still remember that because her story resonated so much with me, since I also went (and am still going) through the same thing.
Lindy was not portrayed as religious. She was definitely portrayed as someone who left a religious cult and was anti religion.
That's how I felt too, her brother on the other hand.
Hi! Correct! 🤗💯
Great interview. Loved seeing Lindy. Lindy, it was clear on your show that you had separated from your family’s faith. I for sure didn’t see you as religious, but more like anti-religious. Almost embarrassed about it. That’s my interpretation though.
Also I’m so glad you’ve helped bring light to so many things behind the scenes. I just finished Season 16 and while there are cringe moments to watch, I feel like they’ve improved a bit perhaps in certain ways. Still I think about how awful it must be trying to get to know someone with all of the demands of production and people constantly in your face.
I’m amazed any couples make it out together, much less stay together.
Omg so happy to see you have your own channel. I absolutely love your interviews doesn’t come off fake whatsoever and I have watched you from day one on the show and I am so elated to see you happy. I was having anxiety with you at times. I’ll be watching your channel for sure. Big hugs
GREAT INTERVIEW! So spot on to how filming works … it’s exactly what you say
Thanks so much for sharing ladies!! I feel super badly that I watch any of these shows!! We need this education! ❤
Outstanding interview! I've never missed an ep of MAFS. This was so intiguing to hear what went on behind the scenes.
Great interview! The fans really need th hear this information. Good job! I just subscribed!
Aw I love Lindy and this was such a great interview! This is my first time here and I subbed..I don’t even know what show you were on! I haven’t had cable in like 8yrs. 😂 and I only currently have Hulu. I remember watching the very first season of this show, but I don’t remember a thing..but. Ow I wish I could watch every season!
This has been needed for so long! It helps give a place for those who don’t work out to be heard!!!! They deserve it! We get never ending spin offs of the handful of “successes” This is so legit!
This is great timing! I JUST finished her season!
Statler this is brilliant!
Everyone wants to know what it's like behind the reality show scenes.
Hopefully you can invite cast member from Big Brother , Love is blind , and more 90 day cast members.
Well done ladies! What an informative insight on the behind the scene of reality tv. Lindy being suicidal and like she said she had a good edit can’t fathom what a bad edit does to cast members. Therapy should be mandatory provided unlimited paid sessions! I really appreciate all the information 😊
The show was pretty open about the fact that Lindy was raised in a religious cult but escaped and was no longer a part of it. I don't think the show portrayed her as religious at all. She also seemed pretty adventurous on the show to me. I don't think she got a bad edit, but she did come across as very anxious/emotional if anything. Her ex partner got a "worse" edit. Based on this interview her edit seems true to character, but of course viewers will have their own interpretations/take aways on things.
I loved Lindy on the show. She seemed very real and genuine. Not sure if shes that way in real life but the edits made her seem ADHD (i have it, no disrespect). Ex religious, a lil over dramatic, don't let her get hangry, overthinker. But even with all of that they made her seem very caring, loving and lovable!
MAFS is my fave show, too! (Was?) This is a great pod, Statler. Great guest. Keep it up!
learned so much about reality tv thank you for this!
Thanks for being so candid !!!🎉
Omg ive been waiting for something like this! Was so happy to see Statler as the one doing it.
Very enlightening!
RIP David
I’m confused, who is David?
@cindyharris5442 David Murphy from an earlier season 90 day.
@ thank you.
@@ryandesain5090I traveled to Ukraine 5 times myself, but it's crazy how much of an industry they had with women stringing along men that never met them. Thousands like David and Caesar. Their women are beautiful, but c'mon?
I really LOVED you on 90 days!!
Hey I highly recommend interviewing someone from love Island I know their were a few cast members that unfortunately unalived themselves because of the hate
Thank you for talking about this.
I lovee this I watched both of your seasons so this was very interesting
Great interview! I’ve watched you both on your shows and thought you both were awesome!
Best interview ❤❤
Great convo! Love the plants.
Girl Love the show , and I loved you on the show .. very cool pod cast
Statler, you did such an amazing job with this. Should be proud of yourself.
It was sad to hear that they didn't supply a therapist for more than four sessions. However, you must take care of yourself and get your own therapist anyway regardless if they are paying or not. I hope you have insurance that covers it which is why we have insurance. Also wanted to say that I appreciate you adding the positives in the experience as with any strong man or woman you can take the good with the bad. Stay strong both of you, life is short.
I don’t remember much of the season but I do remember I was always team Lindsey.
Lindy, yes
Really enjoyed and looking forward to more episodes.
Mafs is craziness. What a show.. I love reality shows
I need more!!! 😊
New subscriber ❤ Great podcast. I'm a fan of that show too
I could not marry a stranger EVER but maybe for 2 million bucks
Married At First Drink. 😂
I worked in film and television for 25 yrs😢I hated it! I worked hair makeup 💄 😮Terrible patronizing😂I'm still exhausted by the entitled "actors" 😂whom worked in sears makeup counter 😢and think they are artist for film😂😂😂horrible lifestyle
Here for this.
After watching a few of your episodes, I am bummed by the way they edited your time on the show. You seem really rad.
I’ve never watched the show but now I want to
Was there any mention why you signed up for the show and did you know what to expect?
My question is... how does one find applications for reality TV shows? whether it be 90 day, married at first sight, life after lock up, bachelor etc any reality TV show how do you find these applications ?
SO IS IT WORTH IT? WOULD YOU RECOMMEND? EITHER PARTICIPATING OR WATCHING!! thanks)
That is what I would like to know
@ElizabethBSoCal but honestly, we can have our own good judgement after all that)
For a split second i thought that was the hawk tuah girl sorry lindy 😅 great interview tho!
It is horrifying that Reality shows made for our entertainment have caused every guest so far, so much pain and emotional damage 💔 😢
28:50 would be interesting to hear you talk with Kailyn Lowry
BABE. People could TELL he was abusive if they had experienced abuse. The fact that it got bad after cameras dropped shows that they were right in seeing what he was trying to hide!
I couldn’t tell if he was abusive or if she was in a covert way. He seemed more normal at times and a few moments of concern. She consistently seemed manipulative and possibly coercive and dismissive of his feelings. I don’t know these people in real life though but that’s how it appeared to me. Some types of abuse can be very difficult to detect but I’ve seen some of those behaviors in my relationship and it was abusive. It’s hard when there’s so much editing.
Stat I think you are on to something with this new show .. you are amazing
All of this information about these shows really makes me not want to watch anymore. I watched both of your shows, & now I’m not looking forward to watching anymore more new seasons. Thank you, Statler.
Unfortunately I have heard of these shows pushing people to the point of suicide. All for money, so sad. We live in a fallen world where the love of money is the root of all evil. We gotta give ourt lives to Jesus so we can spend eternity with Him.
Producer's are never you're friend😢they would do anything to make a mark a get paid triple after causing chaos
I love that show and I had to cancel my cable so I miss the show.
There's a free streaming service like Ruko or Tubi that runs the series. It runs live and it's not on a DVR, so you can't pick and choose the session or episode.
Reality tv is scary bc it turns real life people into 2 dimensional characters . So viewers almost forget they’re real human beings and start to treat them like a Disney character or something, and there’s rarely any shades of grey-it’s good or evil, black or white. Nuance goes out the window . They also seem to forget that we’re seeing like 45 minutes a week out of MONTHS of taping and assume they know the whole story, enough to cast judgement and don’t seem to understand the power of editing. ...
Anyways, It’d be really interesting if you had a different reality personality on every week or 2 and have them talk about their own personal experience on reality tv. It’d be fascinating and eye opening to watch a bunch of different accounts and hear their stories .
i watched this season- her match was narcissistic manipulator
Yep, it really played out over time on the show, but I strongly agree. I remember her season, and I was glad when she would stand up to him. I like the show, but it looks difficult to be on the show.
What show was the host on?
90 day fiancé franchise on TLC
90 Day Fiancé
@@donirichmond5624 thanks
@@MelindaSue1985 thanks
Also, great editing!
I am so sorry the experience was sooo traumatizing.
The show very definitely did not make it like Lindy is religious. It was clear that she came from a religious home but rebelled, including Lindy proudly announcing to the world that she had a one night stand.
Lindy, rest assured, no one takes you for religious, especially not Christian.
You are a knockout. You and Miguel used one another.
Your drama on the show, made it obvious to even a casual viewer that your producers were instigators who did everything but try to encourage a happy, healthy marriage.
I'm sorry you experienced that. That is NOT what you signed up for.
You and Miguel are two goodlooking people, each with your share of winning traits, but definitely wrong for one another.
Good editing bad editing it doesn’t matter to me when it comes to you statler, I freaking love you and your energy you’re adorable, great interview! Lindy did great too lol😊😅❤️❤️❤️
There is no reality in reality TV. The hardest part was back when reality was still pretty new, people actually believe everything they saw ans judged these ppl so harshly on all these shows as if they knew them in real life. My sister was on reality TV and to this day some parts of her life are haunted by the show she was on.
How awful. Makes me feel bad for watching the show to be honest. I get "reality tv" is mostly made up for drama, but the way they treated you was terrible.
the edit on MAFS clearly established that she was no longer a part of her religion, so don't worry Lindy! I don't think you're christian lol
Oh Lindy, first I think you are great! But at first watching this I was like yeah I know her but cant really remember her or her story till you mentioned the Squirrel thing. Yeah that was so formulated to make ppl think a kind of way about you. Sorry to say it did for me. But now I know the truth. You are brave to do this show. It's hard to believe they are now on season 18. Best to you always, w much love.
Wait Lindy wasn’t portrayed as religious or like a quiet mouse 😂 she was more anti religious and kinda wild and always used to call herself “crazy” so others treated her that way even when she wasn’t acting crazy and had total reasonable response.
This is tough to listen to. The guest’s microphone is a good volume, but then the other person (in the striped shirt) the volume is so low. It’s either your constantly playing around with the volume as each person speaks, which is nearly impossible while someone has a conversation. I just had to barely hear anything. The one person said. 🥴
I despise any mental health professional that go onto reality shows. Their behavior always go against the ethical standards! One of the MAFS therapists married one of the male participants after it ended! I wish i could remember what season but that "psychologist" didn't last long. That's so wrong AND such an abuse of power.
This was EPIC!!!!!!
What happened to David. I see someone said RIP.
David died this month. He had been sick for quite some time.
Awful that they didn’t feed you and gave you so much liquor. The experts must be actors and it’s so clear that production is heavy handed and create drama. You need to be paid actor scale money.
Your videos aren't consistent enough. When trying to start up a podcast the most important thing is consistency. If you can't find a guest then do it solo and break down your episodes and give us the behind the scenes of each episode or something. Learn from Meagan Markle's failure. You can't wait two-three weeks between episodes.
I've always believed Statler. Especially about selfish, narcissist, thief Dempsey.
100%
Same!
Ok. Wait-please remind me what show Stanter was on?
Right, someone please tell us I really want to know as well!@@shashamarie4760
Yikes. You said the full name of the show a few times. Might want to bleep those out!
Yeah we know we said the name a few times. Lindy felt comfortable mentioning the name a few times, just not the whole way through
Those shows are sooooo exploitative.
Glad to see Statler doing well.
I instantly did not like her, as soon as she screams to new husband over her medical card she was entitled to.
IIRC, her hubby was super into DND or being a furry or something? Regardless, loved Lindy but was so painfully watching her people please (from my non judgemental bed on my phone, mind you 😊) bc she deserved (and deserves) a genuine, perfectly imperfect partner.
Having caught a few clips/vids specifically re: BTS of LIB & how horrendous it was for the cast, I immediately clicked on this!
ETA: Ughs! This just reminded me of how incredibly awesome Lindy is ♥️
Love this conversation . Statlers mic goes in and out with volume unfortunately. Loved Lindis season.
Thank you for the support! We’re in the early days of the podcast and still learning, please bear with us! We’ll have this figured out soon 🙏🏻
@@TheTellAllPodI'm old, and adore you, I didn't notice your mic coming in and out ❤❤❤❤❤anyways peace and love from Canada 🍁
WTG Statler! ❤
I wonder how it affects you guys noe that there are basically youtube channels based around these shows.
And I've some of them, and I even tell them that they go too far based on the limited information that is shown.
Wait, what happened to David? Has he passed?
Yes he was sick for awhile and he passed
Another crazy realty show ,? At least you should agree on if it not work out, go as you came in as this is like a blind date with serious consequences ? Society, accept this kind of crap ? They are afraid society will dy ?
Statler you have such gorgeous skin!
