      @@Gueli844 I haven’t taken the G line in five years but if the regular riders want the benefits of a high performing line, this is the best way to bring it to them as quickly as possible. @@Gueli844 The MTA expects the G line CBTC project to be completed by 2027. I don’t know if why they didn’t do a longer shutdown to get it all done in one fell swoop. I don’t think six weeks is long enough to install the system from one end of the line to the other.

    • @stevenroshni1228

      The G would have to buy and run more trains and the F go express in Brooklyn all day, in order to match the L train

    • @CLBT7437
      @CLBT7437 Месяц назад

      That's not going to happen, and here's why:
      1) Not enough train crews or ridership.
      2) The G interlines with the F, which receives priority since it's much busier.

    @MTA @Hugo If you really want to improve the G train? Add more cars, from 4-5 cars to 8 cars on the G, extend the G to Forrest Hills or at least Queens Plaza. Repair, renovate and reopen the Bergen St. station lower level for the F train to use as an express (skipping 4 stops, from Bergen to 7th Ave) and the G as a local on the upper level. That way the F & G are not sharing the same trackway, cutting down commute time on the F and cutting the wait time between G trains. #MTA #GTrains #ImprovetheG

    The R211 is expected to expand the fleet. Once that’s done, G trains could become full-length. As for sending G trains to Forest Hills, not all of them have to go there. Instead, some of them can short-turn at 21st St using the pocket track which currently acts as a crossover for Court Sq (one stop north) which currently acts as the terminus. Also, local trains on the QBL don’t have to terminate at Forest Hills. One local service can go to Jamaica Center (due to the branch splitting after Briarwood which is a local station) and the others can go to 179th St. As for the express services, maybe one can go to 179th St and the other can short-turn at Forest Hills.

It has always been messy service sometimes on weekdays, and it gets considerably worse, especially on weekend holidays. Don't try to make it look as if you are doing a service to those of us who use the G line daily. You are not! This specific thing you spoke about has already been happening with Shuttle busses for at least 2.5 - 3 years now.
