Private number plates seem to be a love/hate topic, but among those that cherish them the figures they can reach far exceed the price of the average UK home. Here is a selection of crazy plates before I help auction a new McLaren 720S numberplate and then go drifting!

they're copies of the plate, not the actual plates, so yeah they are worth nothing
And even if they were the actual plates they are worth nothing. The worth comes from the legal ability to use them.

This isn't even close to how much emarati's spend! in the U.A.E so many people buy number plates that are each a million pound and higher, and its not only emarati, it's also indians and others. The number plate 5 for abu dhabi was sold for about 24 million dollars! it was bought by an emarati named talal khouri. Anyone over there would be extremely lucky to get a number plate below 500k pounds. And recently there was an indian guy who bought the number plate 5 for dubai for 10 million dollars. Its good because all this money actually goes to charity, but i also believe its kind of a waste. I rather spend the money on buying different cars..

In the Arabian Gulf number plates for some reason is a status symbol, where I'm from in Bahrain the number 600000 was auctioned off for over 720000 GPB, the lower digit numbers can be sold for over a million...

A vast majority of old, rare plates are re-issued by the DVLA and auctioned. The DVLA is an agency of the Department for Transport of the United Kingdom. Proceeds from their auctions of plates are put back into the DfT which funds things like highways and infrastructure, aviation, rail etc. A registration that was once worthless from decades ago could be reintroduced and sold to a wealthy buyer for half a million, which could in turn fund kilometres of highway resurfacing or junction improvements or railway signal upgrades..
You are mistaking wealthy individuals for the capitalist systems that owns the political systems that drivea inequality intentionally. The reason for war and poverty are because they are businesses for corporations. Late Stage Capitalism is the game.

Big difference here in California. Custom plates are about $50 per year direct from the State. You can have anything you want as long as its not deemed obscene or already in use.
here in Norway we just got custom plates, it costs just under 1000 pounds and you keep it for 10 years, you can not sell it and when 10 years is up you can send in a new application to get it for another 10 years

The continental tyres are actually really sticky tyres. On my dads C63 coupe, the continental tyres pick up loads of chippings once they've got up to temperature. Also, AMG cars are so wicked !!

Number plates are so odd over there. Here in the US a personalized plate is only like $50 extra on top of whatever your tag cost anyway. I got the plate "GAPTIZE" for my C5 Z06, and it was only $90

A mate of mine sourced the numberplate S7 UNT for James Stunt, it was originally on a Ford Focus and James Stunt really wanted that plate which the guy didnt want to sell, anyway he ended up buying the Ford Focus and numberplate that was on the car for close to £100k, they scrapped the Focus and swapped the plate to one of his supercars

In Canada , or at least British Columbia custom plates cost 50 $ regular ones are free , and registration is only once per owner .
I found a licence plate "360 M" at Oulton Park which must have fell off the back of a 360 Modena, I've since had it signed by Michael Schumacher at Autosport International!!!!

Did you stay at the Brooklands hotel next door? I did an AMG drive round the circuit and stayed at the hotel, biggest rooms I've ever seen, they were huge and only £250 per night!
