Written by Henry Mancini, with lyrics by his daughter, Felice, Sometimes is a joy to play on the piano for its lyrical quality and an enchanting melody that can only come from the pen of Mr. Mancini.
You have quite the touch, Don. Nothing overpowering, even when the melody must often carry through a single note. I've been listening to this by Carpenters since it came out and have sheet music and SATB versions, so this was lovely to hear. Matter of fact, my choir director didn't know this one so I gave him my SATB and will send this video for accompaniment. Thanks for posting!
Thank you for your kind comments. I would be interested to hear a choral version of this song. The harmonies must be wonderful to hear. I’m a big fan of 3- and 4-part harmony vocal groups (The Lettermen, The Four Freshmen, Manhattan Transfer, New York Voices, etc.), so an SATB version of “Sometimes” would be an intriguing version and certainly something to look forward to. Mr. Mancini and his daughter, Felice, would be quite so pleased. Take care.
