    Colts web dev course on udemy was the first course I ever took when I had interest in moving from help desk IT work to software development.
    That was 3-4 years ago, I'm now at my 3rd software dev position. Moving to this field was the best decision I've ever made.
    I owe a lot of this to Colt and that first course for getting me hooked!

      Nice man, I am on the same path, what courses did you take later on? Only the Udemy course was enough for you to take your first job as a developer?

    • @mxc_clips
      @mxc_clips 2 года назад +4

      @@rafaelrosa724 def not enough on its own. I took some react courses and some node stuff.
      Also you will feel like you know nothing for your first year or 2, just keeping learning and building things and you will be good 👍

      @rafaelrosa724 2 года назад +1

      You know some good react courses? I want follow this path too. React and next.js

    • @mxc_clips
      @mxc_clips 2 года назад +3

      @@rafaelrosa724 there are like a million on RUclips. Honestly any would prolly be fine.
      Then after understanding it a bit, just try to build your own thing, it can even be a copy of something else. Just do it without following a tutorial and just Google searching when stuck. That's basically normal dev life

    Colt is a great teacher, I had no background on programming, worked my whole life on restaurants and thanks to his web development bootcamp on Udemy i really falled in love with coding, and started doing lots of courses. 6 months after I started studying i got my first job as a backend developer♥️.
    Don't stop pursuing your dreams, it's never late to change your future!!
    Thanks for everything Colt, thanks for changing people's lives🙌

      How did you go from Udemy courses to a software job? I've had mental problems my whole life and was never able to attend college. Did you have to chase companies and recruiters aggressively, did they ask about lack of college credentials? Please give me advice🙏

      Def agree with the other comments, esp for "full stack" development. Front end alone will take you atleast 6 months to master. Pairing this with backend technology will take you atleast another 6 months. Realistically, expect nothing less than a year.

    I'm currently in the course now. I love the school and curriculum. There are things that need to be updated which I would love to discuss with whoever can change it. Pretty common consensus on those changes as well with other students. But otherwise I feel the course has leveled me up for sure. I come from zero background in coding.

      Why are you getting demotivated?
      What specifically is demotivating you?

    Hi Colt! Are the boot camp courses (the ones that Harrison took for example) are they doable if you have a full time job? I know some bootcamps were really meant to be done when you're not working. Wondering if Springboard recommends that same approach or if there are ways to customize the course.

    Hi Colt Steele, I have a question? JavaScript out of all the other languages is the most confusing. I know Java Is considered an Objected Oriented mid-level language, Haskell is considered to be purely functional language. I know JavaScript is a highly scripting language that is prototypical. But when I ask developers is javaScript primarily a functional language or object oriented? This is where it gets confusing. Can it be said that JavaScript primarily a functional language, similar to Haskell? I googled prototypical languages and I got a very broad answer which wasn't clear to me.
