I really appreciate people who explain things so clear there is no possible room for error. Hollowmikes, thanks for the instruction. After getting a little better feel at doing yelps I'm gonna practice the gobble and continue preparing for my first turkey hunting season.

I let my wife to step out of door first before trying in living room 😂. And it worked after second attempt.
Now my neighbors get confused what they hear next to them as they don’t know I hunt 😂

It could be. I'm using a Woodhaven Cooperhead II. I know I said in the video that you could use any call, but to get the sound of a mature Tom a raspy call would work better. Also move the call up or down over your bottom lip to change the tone higher or lower. One more thing try adjusting the amount of pressure you are applying with your thumbs it doesn't have to be very firm. Once you get it to sound right the first time you'll know what works for you. Let me know if this helps.

That's a good question. I'm not sure how to tell you how fast, but it is just a cadence of tucka tucka that when you hear it, it will sound like a gobble. Don't worry if its not perfect it will still sound like a Jake if you don't get it perfect. After you practice it a few times you will get the feel for it. Also remember to get the reed down over your bottom lip. I hope that helps and let me know if you have any other questions.

I was taught this technique when I started with a diaphragm call, and while this works great in a pinch; it doesn't sound or work nearly as good as a quality shaker. In my opinion anyway.

You are saying ticka ticka or tucka tucka either should work you just wanna get the cadence of a Gobble. You don't want to move your mouth that may cause the reed to move out of position. Its more about making the sound with your tongue. Pushing the air over the top of your tongue to make the ticka ticka or tucka tucka. The main thing is to make sure you have the reed touching the top of your bottom lip. If it doesn't sound exactly right try moving it up or down slightly. Hope this helped

The sonic boom mouth call makes the call a little deeper sounding .

I sure have very rarely will they not gobble back at it. In fact I used it to get a Tom to come around the end of a hedge row after he was hung up for a half hour. It doesn't work all the time but it will work.

Ok, i really want to get this. I almost was going to buy the $35 shaker gobler but not if I don't need to. Can you make a vid even more specific? Are we SAYING ticka ticka. Do we move our mouth? Should we feel vibration somewhere specific? Etc. thx

You just rinsed and repeated what Darrin Day said in a video 3 years prior. Almost verbatim.
