- This was my experience car camping in the Hyundai Ioniq 5. Honestly, this was more of a test than "camping". I plan on doing a real camping trip soon but until then enjoy! If you have any questions feel free to ask below!

I agree with OP, one of the thing is to able to reach the front car to lock unlock door . Personally, I sleeped in my I5 I think 4 night already. (2 in summer time with 30C outside and 2 night in wither at near 0C or little under and most night I lost around 5-8% only with climate active, for 8 hours sleeping each time. I agree with OP, one of the thing is to able to reach the front car to lock unlock door. Another thing, long time ago I have removed the wasting top truck top floor to have more space but for sleeping, it's bad idea since I have more trunk space but not flat trunk anymore. Then when I do it, I needed to add plank to have flat floor to sleep.
I've tested for fit, not as big a guy so feels plenty spacious, but I've not slept in it yet, so no idea about comfort. I'd use self inflating pads I have. I'm less concerned about running HVAC and more about fresh air, either a way to open the windows but keep out bugs, or a way to ensure the air exchanger runs often enough.
We are building our Hi5 out to RV in this summer. Bought a 3" memory foam mattress topper for the back, it worked. But it was not great for more than 1 or 2 nights. We ended up getting the megamat auto from Exped, it is amazing.
But if you are only doing short camping trips and love anywhere near Colorado, I still have the mattress topper if you want it.
Thanks for the offer, Im nowhere near colorado unfortunately lol. But good to know about the megamat from Exped. I will have to look into that!
omggg your fur baby looks just like mine !!! mines a black lab and border collie mix they have the same white chest fur to !!
Thanks for doing this for me 😂. I’ve wondered about it.
Invite? Camping lan party?
You mention you lost 5% of your range overnight...about what was that number? Also, might you know your SOC before and after? Thanks.
So youre looking about losing 12-14 miles to keep it on overnight in utility mode. I was at 69% SOC and woke up to I think around 64%
The heat pump is reasonably efficient. I park for an hour while kid is having a music lesson, running heat or cooling, it barely registers. So 5% for half a day is in line with that. Same usage would be less percentage on a bigger battery (compared to the smaller one).
I bet he men he lost 5% of SOC. Personally, I sleeped in my I5 I think 4 night already. (2 in summer time with 30C outside and 2 night in wither at near 0C or little under and most night I lost around 5-8% only for 8 hours sleeping each time.
@@sergiomomesso1590 I slept two nights last weekend. Was hot in day but went down to 8 C overnight. With cabin climate set to 18 C, it used 3% SOC the first night. The second night it used 5% SOC, but I had climate set to 20 C for the first half of the night before reducing it to 18 C as it was too warm inside the cabin. I have the long range battery.
Is there a way to turn off the instrument cluster when you place it into until mode?
I did not find a way :(
@@ExploreWithCarlos I kinda figured but having in dark mode definitely helps from being a distraction.
i remember it have turn off screen option, it should be some where on the home screen and then top left corner
Yes you can turn the display off, via the settings > display and then the three line menu button at the top
