Thank you for your input. My office is looking for something to be able to update management on project updates. This may work for our purposes, but it's very clear from your video that there are a lot of nice to haves for this application.
Just remember that this is also very new, so things might change for the better in the coming months. I suggest you try it out and see if it will add value for your office, as it is free for now. Then you can also better see what it is that Atlas might not be so good for, and you can suggest this to the Atlas team. If it does not fit, then you probably have a clearer view on what you actually need and you can take a look at other tools, like BigPicture or Advanced Roadmaps for example.
Nice presentation/demo. Since Atlassian already has complex project management tools, including Jira/ Advanced Roadmaps/Jira Align/Confluence, I'm guessing this is meant to complement those tools while purposefully keeping things simple. So, I suspect that they don't plan to add a lot of functionality here so that it remains simple. It seems to be part of their new 'Async' working initiative.
We've recently got Atlas, and just trying to figure out what it's for and what we should do with it, at this stage. I may be speaking too soon, as I'm still learning, but if I had my way, I'd ditch it and basically just use Jira. You can tag and categorise Jira Issues in many different ways, so I'm not sure what this idea of creating and maintaining Goals adds... One thing they seem to have added since this video was posted is some sort of integration to Jira...
I felt the same way, but now that I am using them....let's just say they are growing on me :) I will make a video for Atlas as it is right now as soon as I can to explain my thoughts on it.
Great overview and I concur with your findings.
thank you for validating my first impression on it :)
It's indeed just a fancy yet hollow toy at this stage.
Hopefully they can tie it into the other products later, but it is a bit concerning that they did not have integration in mind from the start...

Great video. Stupid product.
It seems to be evolving a bit randomly, so I should make an updated video to go over its current state perhaps?
@@jimiwikmanofficial if enough has changed, for sure. Thanks
