Also you barely get to see how Godzilla effects the civillians. This is supposedly because Hideaki Anno thought it would be in poor taste since the Fukushima Disaster was only 5 years ago at the time the film was released, but it means that you can never really feel sympathy for the civillians outside of you theoretically feeling bad for innocent people dying who you never really get to see. So intentionally or not, Godzilla becomes the most tragic part of the film, and again you don't put it a song like Who Will Know by accident so I'm leaning more towards it being at least somewhat intentional

If you've ever heard cats moaning , crying from pain, the first roar sounds exactly like that. That " help me " ," listen to me" sound is quite universal and you don't need some expertise to feel that. Not only that, if you're a pet owner, you instinctively feel for Shin . He's a lonely and helpless animal.
