That floor! What a wonderful look that is! I'm doing a similar wall, in fact I'm heading to Lowes today (if it's not still snowing) to buy 2 boxes. Seeing her idea has me dwelling on what to do on our floor from a different perspective. Thanks, Lowes, for featuring this hyper-creative.
Monique has a lot of creative ideas! If you see other blogger vs builder videos, you can find other people work with the existing vanity and just try to paint to another color and play the place with accessories. But with the same $1000, she creates this fun and unique look that you don't see it in every home and that's what makes her so valuable!
Love the peel and stick plank flooring. I've used it so far in my daughter's bathroom (been down over 3 years) and spare bedroom (over 2 year). I'm finding that they are extremely pet friendly -- survived 2 puppies who did everything on them. Just make sure they are tight together. I damp mop them and they are as good as new. My daughter takes very long showers and it is not a big bathroom and after 3 years not a single tile has lifted -- even a little bit. There is lots of steam and moisture in her bathroom and the tiles look like new. Love the look of the new luxury vinyl plank flooring I just found in Lowes so much I'm doing it in the 2 remaining bedrooms and master bath. I don't have the skills, tools or $$ to put down other types of flooring but this stuff looks so good, my guests can't believe it is vinyl.
I was just about to ask if the peel and stick stick tiles will peel off in time due to moisture, but before I could ask, you already mentioned 3 yrs and counting and didn't even move even with steam and moisture from showers. I will consider this.. I hate the look of the tiles from the rented place, but don't want to spend too much. Thanks!
We did the same thing in our upstairs bathroom as a temporary floor fix when we moved in 10 years ago. I expected the tiles to curl up and come away in a few months. They are still rock solid. So much so that this horrible little bathroom that was way up on the priority list is now the last thing we will do. I am still amazed at how well they stay down. Especially since the instructions said NOT to put them in a bathroom. I'm sure that's just a little CYA from the manufacturer. And your mileage may vary. But like I say - ten years in and they still look as good as the day we installed them. One thing to keep in mind through - no kids or puppies in our house. But we do use that bathroom every day. And we don't get the floors wet. The floor is - obviously - at floor level, so steam isn't an issue (steam rises and we have good ventilation in there). But I would not think that you can rely on the peel and stick on the walls in a steamy bathroom. I say that because I tried a peel and stick solution for a backsplash in my kitchen because I had such good success with the floor in my upstairs bathroom. Within 48 hours, the peel and stick was coming down from the walls in the kitchen above the dishwasher. You would probably get a longer duration on a bathroom wall because the heat and steam isn't as aggressive as with a dishwasher. But eventually it will come down - I'm sure of it. And I'm guessing here, but I think the designer knew that when she decided to put tacks in the tiles on the wall. The tacks won't stop the tiles from trying to let go, but may make them hold a little while longer.
OMG!!! I am blown away with all your skills n esthetics. Love your channel and I binge watched all your episodes in a day. It's so addictive and informative. 😍
She did an amazing job and there was so many sparking ideas from floor, wall and vanity. I wish this video was longer so I could have some more details. Amazing work.
No words. I f'king love your style! I'm such a "I'm going to think of a design myself and be completely unique from everyone else"... GIRRRRL I want to copy EVERYTHING you did haha! You have inspired me to not only have fun with some vinyl flooring, but to add a garden wall to that absolutely perfect bare wall I have by my tub. Thank you!!
We just renovated our home but wish you were here to design it for us..I have been watching your videos the last few days and everything is amazing..honestly some of the things I’m like omg what is she doing but in the end when it’s all pulled together it looks awesome
Todo el conjunto me encanto, los colores el suelo, y aunque la puerta no termina de gustarme, debo admitir que es un toque de enfoque, you are amazing!!!!!!
This is too good....I'm working on my own lil diy for my bathroom on a very tight budget. Thanks alot for this video will definitely try something this creative.
what are the issues with water and moisture getting underneath the peel stick flooring? Does mold grow since there is no grout between the vinyl tiles to run the water away?.
+Kon K As long as the tiles are tightly fitted into one another you shouldn't worry about moisture at all in my experience. My dad did peel and stick over linoleum flooring in the restroom of his house still strong after 5 years and that was after he did it in the living room that's about 10 years strong. I will say it's likely that one tile or two may have an issue so keep a box handy. Bathroom had 3 he replace. Living room had 5.
LOVE THIS!!!. I am totally inspired by your style. Where are the tutorials on how to do some of these projects? I went to the Lowe's website and didn't find any. Can you put links to the flooring?
As a contractor specializing in Bathroom remodeling in the Bay Area California in the year 2020, I’m shocked. Our customers spend any where between 15k to 35k for just a gut and updated bathroom (not including finished materials). These are great diy projects!! Amazing
I have been wondering what to do to my bathroom walls to accent the new shower and gray-weathered wood flooring look--I think one wall of more gray-weathered flooring might be the answer, after seeing your cool bathroom design. I love the way you improved the boring white painted wood door, too!

What happens when the wood vanity top gets wet? Will the paint fade or wood rot over time? Is it sealed? Just wondering! Thank you. This looks fabulous!

I need that accent wall in my life
Me too
OMG!!! I am blown away with all your skills n esthetics. Love your channel and I binge watched all your episodes in a day. It's so addictive and informative. 😍
My question is: Will this very stylish and beautiful decor stand the humidity of the bathroom? Would you have update for it?
Mold indeed
Vinyl will be fine. As long as she treated the wood correctly, it too will be fine.
