can I just say that it’s crazy how much amazing content you’ve been putting out here lately?? you’re killing the game with your videos, keep the good work up!!! ❤️❤️
if you want more of a darker, badass graphic novel then i can definitely recommend deadly class. the art style is simply awesome. like, it's so dark and gritty and it's genious how the use of color literally reflects the mood of an entire scene. it's epic honestly
Every time I think my booktube addiction can't get any worst, there is a new video that proves me wrong. It is just nice to have something like this videos to inspire me to read more. Amazing job like always💜💜💜💜💜💜
For graphic novels, Fables is amazing (displaced fairytale characters/creatures having a hidden society in our world) and pretty much anything by Faith Erin Hicks.
I just wanted to say that because of your videos I started my own reading journal and I'm really loving it. I'm not artistic at all, so I mostly just write things down, but every now and then I doodle something and i've been really enjoying it. Maybe one day my journal will be as pretty as yours. Really loving your space theme for august! 🤗
WOW I love the art supplies you got! Congratulations Britt!!! Now I understand you needed a nice cabinet for your art supplies!!! I can't wait to see your bullet journal using all these wonderful pens, pencils, etc... Love you :)
I wanna start a bullet journal someday though I’m not really artistic or creative. But seeing your vlogs make me want to try anyways. I love how Luna was such a big help while you were building your drawer set!!
Ggjkgjkgjkg. I love how you went to the store and just kept grabbing and then putting down all the books you want to get in a "later my babies. I'm going to rescue you later". GFgjkgjkgjkgjk. Love it!!!! Luna's "don't you dare put me on that ringlight" meow was so CUTE!!! That Crown of Feathers copy is so pretty!! I wish I'd gotten the copy off Owlcrate as well! And I'm sure they will probably do a special edition for the second book too! Hgjgjgjk. I will most likely just buy that one instead and wail that I don't have the pretty lilac-sprayed edges! Arteza's supplies look sooooo good!!! I'm definitely adding it to my to-buy list. Probably getting them for next year though! Watching you build things is the most satisfying thing ever!!! OMG!! That Chi's Sweet Home is soooo cute!! ghjgjhgjhgjh. The Deathnote black edition looks so stunning! ALSO SAME WITH THE NEEDING TO LOVE THE ART STYLE!! I've dropped some anime and manga cuz I don't like the art style. Like if I don't like it, I just can't stand reading or watching. It's why I still haven't watched Devilman Crybaby even though so many of my friends watched and said I would enjoy it. But I watched like 5 mins of it and was like I don't like this art style. Hard Pass!!! Love the vlog as always Brittany!
A recent graphic novel I've read is Teen Titans: Raven by Kami Garcia the next one is called Beast Boy that's coming out next year. And the artwork is so beautiful.
Okay. I’m super pumped that you’re getting into manga and graphic novels! You’ve got to read the Prince and the Dressmaker 😭💕 and while you’re at it please consider Fullmetal Alchemist because it’s one of the best stories ever told and the art style is jawdropping! (I’m a huge stickler for art style as well!) Can’t wait for your next video Brittany!
Deadly Class is a really good comic/graphic novel (not sure which!) it gave me major Six of Crows vibes, and I’m reading vol 2 for my NEWTs :) love your videos and hope the NEWTs are still going well 💚
Laura Dean Keeps Breaking Up With Me (wholesome/bittersweet), The Weatherman (great art and story but violent content, personal favorite), Cucumber Quest (wholesome!!!! Great story, available free online or bound), Moomin and the Golden Tail (wholesome and super relevant lol) I hope you try more comics moving forward! There is amazing stuff out there!!! Keep up the great content
You should read The Prince and the Dressmaker by Jen Wang. It's a Contemporary graphic novel, but it's sooo heartwarming! I think you'd really like it!
I never considered graphic novels until recently (thanks Booktube!). The Prince and the Dressmaker was one of the first graphic novels I read and I LOVED it!
Hi Brittany! I really need to read Saga ASAP!!! For other recs, if you’re wanting something super hilarious and contemporary, Giant Days is awesome!! I love Paper Girls for a sci-fi story filled with time travel (also a great squad!) Also I really enjoyed a graphic novel called Low which is about the human race retreating underwater to escape the heat of the sun, kinda like a space opera...but in the ocean?? And ocean opera?? 😂
Hey Brittany! I have a manga series recommendation for you since you said you like more fantasy inspired ones! The manga Kamisama Kiss is INCREDIBLE! It is my favorite manga series and the anime is just as cute but unfortunately they did not finish it off alongside the books! I think you’d love it! It involves fantasy, Japanese folklore, comedy, romance, high school situations, etc.! To me, it’s very well-rounded and beautiful!
I think you should look into the manga 'Fruits Basket'. It's written and illustrated by Natsuki Takaya. It's an easy read, but it deals with some really heavy issues as well. The manga is about the Chinese zodiac animals (they're humans but change into their zodiac form when hugged by the opposite gender or under stress) and one of the main characters is the year of the cat (which doesn't exist, but there's a legend that states it would have if he wasn't tricked by the rat). An anime also started this year that, unlike the 2001 anime, is following the whole manga. A lot of the same voice actors for the 2001 English dub came back for the 2019 reboot.
In October Saga will be available in a giant bind up called "Saga: Compendium One" that is way cheaper than buying them individually. For all 9 volumes is $42.00 compared to paying $10.00-$15.00 for each. Just letting you know 😊😊
I am also very particular about the art style of manga which is why I can't ever read Dragon Ball, but I've liked most art styles I've tried reading which I'm thankful for :)
I LOVE your vlogs so much. Your bullet journal is beautiful. I hope you love Saga :D I also recommend Locke and Key by Joe Hill, its horror and fantasy and I love it. Also if you're into sci-fi, then Descender is a fab graphic novel series to get into. I enjoy Star Trek too haha. My Brother's Husband is a gorgeous manga as well hahaha. So many recs, my bad haha. Hope you enjoy xoxo
Ugh your bullet journal is everything! Since you're into graphic novels, you should check out Batgirl series (although you do have to research as there are a lot. I recommend Batgirl: The Darkest Reflection Vol 1 for starters and definitely read the classic comic, The Killing Joke! I feel like Pearl Vol 1 by Brian Michael Bendes would be your kind of style. There's also Starfire from Teen Titans which I think you would like the graphic art; Starfire was so so so cute as well as reading Raven from Teen Titans and perhaps Supergirl and you should really check out Legend of Zelda Manga from Akira Himekawa. The art is amazing!
So I binged watched Little Witch Academia on Netflix and then realised that they also have manga versions of them. I read them both so quickly and adore them
Wholesome: jem and the holograms, the last unicorn, blood stain, pride of Baghdad and ultra seven days. Not so wholesome: sunstone, the beauty and low. Manga: Brides. I'm glad I discovered your channel a while ago. I really enjoy your uploads. Btw sunstone is such a great story. Mature content but the LGBTQ romance in it is so amazing.
I enjoy your videos so much ⭐️some of my favorite graphic novels are. Lumberjanes (very cute, with some fantasy). I feel you would also love Rat Queens by Kurtis j. Wiebe. Keep being you! 💛
Have you played the Witcher video games? I’ve been wanting to play them for years but I can’t seem to find an Xbox 360 copy! Also if your interested in manga soul eater is really good and so is the anime!
So I've been in a devastating 3 year reading slump and I'm finally slowly getting out of it thanks to your channel!!
can I just say that it’s crazy how much amazing content you’ve been putting out here lately?? you’re killing the game with your videos, keep the good work up!!! ❤️❤️
if you want more of a darker, badass graphic novel then i can definitely recommend deadly class. the art style is simply awesome. like, it's so dark and gritty and it's genious how the use of color literally reflects the mood of an entire scene. it's epic honestly
Nimona is a really cute graphic novel but also has like some action-y type parts too, the artwork was my favorite part, super cute

I just wanted to say that because of your videos I started my own reading journal and I'm really loving it.
