@@javierlandaverde4108 if you're blaming the players for performing bad and not Southgate then I don't know what to say. Not a single one of these players has had a good game. That means it's clearly the system. It's a managers job to make sure his players are played to their strengths and have chemistry. He's trying to use Trent as a box to box, play Foden on the wing, have Kane play as an advanced forward, etc. If it was one of two players having bad games then maybe you'd be right about the players, but pretty much the entire squad is playing horribly. How you can blame the players there is beyond me.

We are 100% behind the team, they are a likable bunch, no ego clashes, they put their heart into it, and we support those boys.
What we are NOT behind is how Southgate is making them play. No other team *in this tounement* passes backwards as much as we do. Not *ONE,* and SG is making them do it in every single game. He did it with Middlesborough as well. That is how HE is making them play.
3 games and we came out of it looking second rate at best. That is not the players having bad games, that is them trying to implement a flawed system.
You cannot blame soldiers from trying to obey a flawed command from their general - That is his fault, not theirs.

People are more flabbergasted by France's lack of dominance. They're almost doing as bad as England, except the Manager can't get all the blame here. Bit of a stretch, but they should've been as dominant as Spain were in their group as a favourite to win the Tournament

As a slovenian lets gooooooooooooo!!!! We played so well defensvily. But if I wasnt slovenian I would have never watched the full game obviously I was nervous as shit but as a neutral it had to be so borin like there wasnt even any big chance. The football was not great like we had one shot in the second half but the knockouts are the knockouts!! VAMOOSSS!!!! No one belived in us the smallest nation in the EUROs. So proud of my team

Ralf Rangnick is a great Head Coach and he had the advantage to have worked with the Austrian Team on a national level as well as many of the players in his previous jobs at RB Leibzig (and RB Salzburg, I believe). So, Austria has really implemented his style of play for a while now. It shows. In my opinion, it is not a particular "beautiful" style of soccer (Spain plays a "beautiful" style in my eyes). But it is very effective.
Austrias team was called "wonderteam" in the years 1930-1934. They were he best team in the world. They reached the 4th place in the world cup. 1954 they reached the 3rd place. Maybe its time for another wonderteam. They are missing key players like Alaba, Schlager. And they are heavily rotating the squad which means that even the substitute players are high quality in the moment. On top the game against france would have been a draw if they hadn't scored an own goal.
That tweet from Mr. Hayes is wrong - the tiebreaker used for Denmark and Slovenia was their ranking in the Euro 2024 Qualifiers, which was also used for the Euro 2024 group stage draw. Both teams were in the same qualification group and Denmark was classified first in te group based on their head-to-head record (4 points for Denmark, 1 point for Slovenia)

Denmark was 1 goal away from topping the group and sent England into Germany's path, but instead, they decided to sit back in the last 20 minutes and defend.
As for the tiebreakers, I've read 2 different versions (none about FIFA rankings). First, Slovenia's technical director, Milivoje Novaković, was shown a yellow card against Denmark, which counts to disciplinary points. Second, after all the tiebreakers were tied, they moved to the tiebreakers of the Euro 2024 qualifiers. Slovenia and Denmark were luckily in the same group and they also finished with the same points. However, Denmark won the H2H.
What's more strange abouut Denmark is also the fact that they were just a few yellow cards away from getting third place and sending Slovenia into Germany's path but still decided to tackle the hosts themselves.

We could beat Switzerland with a bit of luck, and then we'd almost certainly face England, who always suffer against us and are in bad shape. That being said, as things stand we'd have no chance to beat Germany, Spain, Portugal or France if we ever got to the final

It used to be, but this year it takes place in USA and aldo has best North American teams so now it is like old EUROs with 16 teams inn4 groups and 2 best from each group goes to 1/4 finals. Also interesting that the calendar is aligned with EUROs so I think essentially quarter, semi finals and final will be played the same day for the tournaments. And later winner of EURO and Copa America will play each other.

I'm an Italy fan but certain Switzerland will give them a hard time, as happened in the WC 2022 qualifiers (SWI finished top of the group, not Italy). Also if England and Italy both qualify they meet in the 1/4 final, therefore both of them are not going to the semi-finals as you believe. It's one or the other.

As a Dutch supporter, I can only say that the Netherlands didn't reach its potential. They were not even close. Against Austria, we played our worst game ever. Many Dutch fans like me, feel like we don't even deserve to go through. It is that bad. If the Netherlands would even slightly play to their potential, Austria stands no chance. I hear everyone talk about how great Austria is while they forget how bad the Dutch team was. If we keep up this trend, Romania will definitely win against Holland.
