Windows 95 🤣 I was gonna try a skull with wings thing on the back of the bass I'm building, but a coffin may be an easier idea. I'm going with an Elvira Mistress of the Dark theme.
I was pretty pumped when that laptop still fired up hahah.
that sounds fun, yeah coffins are quick, once I had the wood cutout and the background dried the rest of the painting took maybe 2 and half hours split up into some sessions to account for dry time. I'd like to see your bass are you on Instagram?
@@IronGordon I'll have to revamp my Instagram. It's gonna be a while for painting; I'm in Wisconsin and it's getting cold. I'll definitely keep you posted.

@@IronGordon 8 sometimes. I have some ideas for other guitars using hand-rub finishes, but the bass is gonna get a little extra love and attention. It's just gonna take some time.

Ha I don't know if other people have the same issues with their art, but I swear every painting I make has a band aid fix in it somewhere! The more I do this the more the more I just embrace the mistakes haha
Ha! Yeah, I draw so fast that half of my creative decisions are based on fixing or de-emphasizing a wonky line

Finally got around to watching this viddie. I actually like that the one sort of odd element, ie. the flower ended up being a 3D effect. I think those multi-level elements are what makes a lot of your work really "pop." I really dig this design and the self-deprecating humor of your catch phrase. Lookin' forward to getting my T-shirt!

Thank you, yeah it added a nice little pop, I found a whole sheet of that 1/8" (3.175mm ?) Mdf. I like that it's thinner that my other stuff. You got here first haha

What did you use to glue down the rose?
I use a combination of double-stick tape and 5-minute epoxy. the tape keeps holds the piece while the glue dries. I updated the links in the description to included the tape and epoxy if you need some. Thanks for reminding me!
What kind of wood do you use?
The one I'm using in this video is 1/4" MDF that has a white laminate on it.
You can use 1/4" MDF that can be found in most big box hardware stores, you'll just need to prime it first.
