This was the first year my family participated in OCC. We enjoyed it so much that now I plan on collecting and making items all year to pack as many boxes as possible next. It is such a blessing to know all these children will have some play things but also some needed essentials. Thank you Jesus!
Oh, yay! Thank you and your family for being part of the OCC family! Yes, it helps a lot with the budget if you shop clearance all year long. Happy for the children as well. That’s why we all do this.
It was a lot of fun, Denise!! I finally had a chance to do a quick video! It’s been very busy this year at the processing center. Glad we were at the same table together!
Yes, Lindsey! That would be great!! I bring my filler directly to the processing center. But Denise dropped several filler boxes to the drop off center, and we found them in the filler bins of the processing center. So yes, definitely used!
I can imagine it’s hard to determine what’s used and what’s new when it’s all taken out of original packaging but I trust all the volunteers to make that call you guys are the hands and feet of Jesus really
Thanks Lindsey! Luckily, there are very few used items in the shoeboxes that we processed. However, for example, Denise saw the doll and it was clearly used. And she even asked the staff member and she told her to go ahead and take it out. So if we take something out - especially used items, we ask the staff member for double approval. Liquids and toothpaste of course, no need for additional permissions.
Thanks for showing us all around. And what awesome fillers there were...so satisfying seeing the box get filled up. Your sweater is super cute, I might add. Thanks again Sharon!😊
Thanks so much, Diana! There were great filler! Particularly boys' this year which was great. Oh, I got a lot of comments that day on my sweater! lol Thank you! Happy Holidays to you and your family, Diana!
Ditto on repeat "inappropriates" This year at my PC, we had beautifully handcrafted bean bags (to play catch). Unfortunately, they were filled with rice and not pellets (or similar). Sadly, we removed multiple of those bean bags. 😢
I think it’s so great that you work all day!! I worked only one 4-hour shift (which turned out to be more like 4 1/2 hours) and then I was tired, hungry, and my feet hurt lol. But . . . The experience was so amazing and I can’t wait to do it again next year 😊
Thanks so much, Val! It's usually 4 hour shifts for me as well, but we took off a whole day so why not a whole shift? But you drove a LONG time to get to the processing center. Same! I was tired, hungry, and feet hurt! lol So glad you had a great experience. Once you start, you'll be back every year! lol
This si so awsome. Theres a warehouse we’re I live like 15 mins away but I havent being able to help out. Im hoping this year my husband can watch the kiddos so I can go 😊

It's cool to see you and Denise out in the wild.
Thank you, Jett! Right? So cool we live not far from each other and able to volunteer together!
This was fun to see. Busy hands extending from loving hearts. Thank you.
Thank you! Oh this day was the busiest at the Baltimore processing center. The most volunteers so far this season. Blessed!
So fun! Great job taking a video during all the processing chaos! Love it! ❤

Thanks for showing the partially empty box to inspire us to send filler and to make sure our boxes are full.
Thanks Gesiriech! Yes, as you know, unfortunately, there are boxes that come half full. So we are thankful for the filler donors!
Thanks for the tour Sharron! I’m hoping I can make it to the Calgary processing centre next year

TFS. When I see basically the same inappropriate items I just heave a big sigh. Education is key.

Right, Maritza? I’m honestly shocked toothpaste and candy are still in boxes! They haven’t been allowed in years. Sigh.
@@fedwards2023 Sorry to hear that, Fiona!
@@eastcoaststories they need to watch your channel!

Hi Sharon, Thank-you for sharing your PC. It was great to see you make a "not bad" shoebox "comfortably full." 🤗 to the Filler donors.
Thanks Fiona! I appreciate it. Luckily at this time, we had great filler. But as you know, sometimes that’s the case.

Looks like you guys had fun! Can’t wait to go someday. 🎉
We did! Thanks Morgan! You will have a lot of fun!
I would love to help at a processing center someday! I’ve packed for many years, but never did processing. Thanks for sharing!
Hope you do too! It’s very rewarding and fun! And it’s nice to see what others pack.
As much as I say it people at my work that filled shoeboxes with their church where putting candy in the shoebox.
Sorry to hear that, April about the candy!
