Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire Custom Theme (Piano)

- In this video, I share my custom theme for Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire. This is how I wish the theme sounded, using what worked from Junkie XL's Godzilla VS Kong soundtrack, that being Kong's themes, and ditching the plagiarized Godzilla music in favor of licensing Akira Ifukube's actual Godzilla theme. Additionally, this would combine the original King Kong VS Godzilla theme into the mix to celebrate 70 years of Godzilla and 62 years of King Kong and Godzilla sharing the screen.
The music would have played out very similarly in the actual film with the slow Kong music playing as he discovers the Parrot Frog and then transitioning into the montage catching us up on Godzilla and Kong while the Godzilla VS Kong main title theme is combined with Ifukube's King Kong Vs Godzilla them. This would end with Godzilla fighting Scylla while his original music played.

Ironically, I don’t think Holkenborg’s Godzilla theme really fully clicked with me the right way until this movie came out. Now I can’t really get it out of my head, lol. Maybe the problem in GvK was that the instrumentation felt too bland, and that, combined with how much the motif was overused in GvK made it feel a lot lamer.
In GxK, meanwhile, it appears rarely, in conjunction with Godzilla doing really cool shit, with a faster beat and sometimes a chorus backing up the melody this time around, making it feel a lot more distinct from Ifukube’s theme and helping make it feel more impactful when it’s used.

A fully orchestrated version of this song with strings, synths, horns, and all would be so grand and epic

I know you don’t get the most views on these compared to your other content but I hope you don’t stop doing these as long as you’re enjoying making them. The passion to learn not just how to play these songs but to memorize and write some of your own your own sheets!

On a more serious note, I love that this has the hype energy of Gvk's opening that the original theme failed to deliver on. Your work definitely blows the original soundtrack out of the water. Also, the description implies that this is an alternate opening theme for the movie. Would it be possible for you to write alternate tracks for more scenes in the movie (Godzilla attacking the French nuclear power plant, the final battle, etc.)?

You know, I don’t normally make requests (and if this already exists, please excuse my not knowing) but yo please mash up the ‘33 Kong theme with the ‘54 Gojira theme and the ‘62 KKvG theme if possible!!?! I always can hear it in my head but hearing it plunked out would be awesome was

I don't really have any thoughts on the next film yet considering so much will change before they get to shoot it.

If memory serves me right, it was Adam Wingard who said Godzilla's theme wasn't frightening enough
I belive there's a strange mix of ego and different preferences involved with the current decision to use a plagiarized version of Godzilla's theme rather than licensing Godzilla's theme from Toho again. It mostly comes down to Adam Wingard not loving that theme's association with the American Godzilla and a desire to have their "own" Godzilla theme.
