followed this video to the letter, however I struggled with exchanging the fuse ( number 33 same as ) with the piggyback one supplied. to help things along, i removed the plastic cover between carpet to bottom of the glovebox . simply pulls away. this let me approach it from beneath the fuse board and was able to exchange the fuse by hand. good video all the same. please keep up the good work.
Would be great if you would show you testing the socket for correct way up/down placement in fuse box of piggy back as very important issue people need to be aware of 😊
Yes fuses have a hot side but as long as they put the fuse spur in the same was as in the video they will be fine. Over complicating these videos lead to even more questions than the thirty or so I get every week.
Bought and fitted the same dashcam and power supply for my Crossland X, which just happens to be the same colour, Thank you a very helpful guide, Like most people I struggled getting hands into the fuse box. Fitted mine with the suction cup and without the feral after testing for problems with the cigarette lighter socket.
Nothing better than Vauxhall bosses going, how can we make it near impossible to reach the fuses. I have the Grandland x and unless you have baby hands you are never getting to them. I’ll get Halfords to fit my dash cam and let them scrape their knuckles off.
Brilliant paid halfords 50£ to install nextbase dash cam on my wife's fiesta then 3 months down the line she decided to buy a grandland x 1.2 turbo so I removed dash cam from fiesta and thought how can they justify 50£ for fitting watched your video and within 30 minutes had installed it in the grandland x thanks for a great step by step instalation video and 50£ still in my pocket 👍
Thanks PJ, I just followed these instructions to fit a dash cam to a 2019 Vauxhall Grandland X. The only extra thing I needed to do was remove the glovebox, as the fuses were near impossible to get to. Can't wait until one of those needs changing! I hadn't got any cable ties, so pushed the ferite filter up under the headlining as an anchor. That won't cause any problems in future will it, thinking of condensation leading to rust of the filter and staining of the headlining?
Very informative video, thankyou. The problem I had was a could not get anywhere near to the fuse socket to get the adapter in, the spaces available were insufficient and the fuse socket is off set to the front entry point. I eventually bought a pair of 11" long nose pliers from a well known online site and it worked first time, no hassle. Being only £6 was better than £50 to get done professionally.
LHD does not have that popout conver, but 1 ten mil needs to be removed in addition, also for cams with parking mode, care to share number of fuse that is hot at all times? I'm quite lazy and don't want to measure all of the fuses :)
mate ive got a question. i got mine in halford and they install it with hardwire, but the problem is tha dashcam is very hot., is that normal mate? my car is grandland x vauxhall. waiting for your reps.. thanks..
Hi I have the same model car and have wired the dashcam exactly as you have shown. The dashcam shuts down after a few seconds with the message power shortage. Any ideas as to what could be wrong please?
Tried to do this today but no camera stays on when ignition is switched off really dont know what fuse to try as I dont want to pull a importaint one out any ideas
Fuseboxes vary between models and region of the world sold, either check your handbook for something like the heater or consult your local main dealer for a fuse box layout (they will need reg number)
@@PJsprojects cheers pj. Have option of couple fuses. Using fuse 22 which is front cigarette lighter fuse for red wire which is switched live and goes dead when is off Have couple options for constant live yellow wire . My options are infotainment system which is live all the time as used tester light to check and fuse 16 which is adaptive forward lighting but I don't have adaptive forward lighting so there no fuse but light tester show constant live feed or fuse 33 which says trailer socket which has a fuse but I don't have trailer socket etc. Which of these would you recommend to get constant live feed off of . Cheers
Hi , i'm going to help my son to fit a dash cam to his vauxhall crossland x & was wondering where to place it on the windscreen due to the black plastic behind the rear mirror , is the left of the mirror the best place to place it avoiding this plastic piece as you have done in the video ,thanks in advance
One of the things no one seems to really have an answer for is: How do you attach a suction cup to the raised black dots on the windscreen? You don't seem to have the problem with this car :) Yet another great video, very many thanks. All the best to you
Suction cup versions as you correctly say do not stick. The mount on this camera is a 3M pad so sticks to the glass. However you can buy a satnav dashboard adapter that is a circle of plastic with a sticky pad on it,stick that to the black raised area of the window and then the dashcam sucker will stick to the plastic circle. These are available from car shops or ebay.

You should be fine with the filter tucked away.
Hi Mark, appreciate this was a while ago... may I ask what fuse socket you used? Cheers

Have you ever fitted to Vauxhall mokka a acc red dashcam cable and yellow always on power.
Yes, just a case of testing which fuse is constant live and switched live.

Yes just to left and try to keep the cam mount out of the wiper sweep area.
Hi, Do you professionally fit these for a living? If so, where are you based and how much would you charge? Cheers
I only do large corporate jobs, nothing private.

Hi mate, how to hide the wire for the cam at back.?
Hi Vi, did he get back to you on this?
I need to do the same, same car & dash cam, just have the rear cam to add in too.
