Having owned my '07 Mustang since new, I can honestly say that the "low quality" interior has held up extremely well and, in fact, still looks like new. The Mustang in this vid was obviously not treated all the well during its life. These are great cars!!!
@@marcstamper9079 I just sold my '07 Mustang earlier this year. I only put about 18,000 miles on it during ownership, so probably not a good source of durability data! I had not issues, however, except for a bad knock sensor which I replaced. It was a great car, I replaced it only because I wanted something different after all that time.
I really really hate mustangs but I’ve been looking into this specific model bc of the history and great look and sounds. And honestly I feel the same, the interiors on any mustang I’ve driven and been in have been clean even with 200k miles. It just hasn’t been treated aswell, I’m gonna pic one up
@@marcstamper9079 Heya! I know this comment is a few months old, but the 4.6 3v motors are super super tough engines. My stock bottom end turbo Saleen has 189K miles on the original engine, trans, drivetrain, still starts up and drives with no issues! These are one of the few motors that love to be pushed whenever, wherever; highly recommend you get one! It'll last you a super long time, and once you build the bottom end plus boost, they can be super super mean.

My 07 gt has 227k on it. I’m very happy with it. Not a single major issue since new. Just regular maintenance and always 91 octane gas. I change my oil every 3,000 miles
Mike CorLeoné Good news, you can start saving money on gas, 87 is the recommended fuel for the Mustang GT, 91 doesn’t give you any benefit and can actually be detrimental.
So there is a guy on Craigslist with an 07 mustang but it has 225k miles on it but he maintained the vehicle and its 4999 should I pull the trigger on it?
I purchased my 2006 GT about 2 months ago. I love it to death. They have very high reliability ratings from consumer reports and are a blast to drive. Plus it has a 6 CD changer in it which even though it is old technology is kinda fun to have. The seats are SUPER comfortable. Subaru mentioned the cheap interior and while it is no BMW it really is not bad at all. It is comfy and it looks good. That is all I ask out of a muscle car.

Having an S197 since 2011 and still having it next to my s550 i have to say that 05-14 Generation really aged well, 460hp is great, but in honesty 305 hp is enough for enjoying it.
That generation of Mustang felt a lot faster than the raw numbers would suggest. I don't know if it was the gearing or the torque or what, but they definitely were a blast from a dead stop.

I own an 06 and I love this review. very honest and what you're saying is true BUT it is EXTREMELY easy to over look some of the shortcomings of the vehicle due to the simple fact that no two S197's look alike! you can totally make this car yours. I love the retro styling on it and it really does feel like traditional american muscle. Great Review. I have been watching for a LONG time and im glad you did this review.
I have an '03 Mach 1, and that's what I love about the Mustangs from back around those times. They still felt like a MUSCLE CAR! Raw and unrefined. I can buy a coyote if I want right now, but I don't want to. I've driven them. It was a boring drive compared to my car.
Another great Mustang review. After having a 2000 Avalon (which is a great car) I finally bought a second car in 2017 ----- a Mustang EcoBoost Premium. The Mustang quickly became my daily driver. I'm happy with it even though it isn't a GT. It just shows that there is a Mustang for everyone.
I drive one for 11 years, but it still is an event to drive. Thank you! Fun and serious car that makes you smile. Also pretty effortless even pushed hard. Yes, it is a MUSTANG, a wild horse. Hilarious! Brakes improve with original Motorcraft pads. Suspension gets quiet with replacing some parts such as control arms, Mcpherson bearings and wheel hubs, all pretty cheap. Also, on mine, I installed some natural rubber hoses waxed with glycerin ski wax under the plastic a-pillar trim and above doors, also between the dash and windshield. Now it's dead silent. All in all 1-2k$ or even less can make the experience better than new. Because I got mine new, and then I made it better Ha-ha. Door trim is easily glued back in an hour.

I just want to say that I appreciate you making more comments on the negatives of the car. I know you do review a lot of excellent cars and therefore have very few complaints, but in the past it was like, "This seat is uncomfortable, but it's forgivable for xyz reason."
those are fog lights, not driving lights. so they have pads on everything you touch, and the plastic is of the time. i can also tell you from experience the 9/3 position works since its plastic, it gives and after a 6 hour drive its still comfortable. i am a little biased but i sense you had preconceived notions before you got into the seat
I do. It's funny I was introduced to the 15 and when I saw 14 and older I wanted nothing to do with them because how ugly they looked. Now I am in love with the retro styled gauges and the interior design
angel flores I don't usually try to get to the bottom of my cars handling, but I suppose it does. It may not handle (of course to the new generation Mustang since they're now built with independent rear axles). I've never had performance problems though.
+Rosendo Ernesto Rendon Jr Thanks a lot for the reply and information man! I'm looking at one online right now and wanted to know an owner's perspective.
Just got a 2005 gt Custom piping. Bigger brakes. Cold air intake. Injectors. Mufflers. Cats. Long tube headers Custom tune 60k miles, Manuel, leather interior 💪🏼 I love her so much
Nice, but just curious why you have bigger injectors? You haven't done anything that needs them to provide more fuel than stock injectors can handle. Are you planning to boost it or something?
Phillip Berk No offense, but you couldn't be more wrong. Believe me, I wanted a GT, but I couldn't find one in good condition with under 100,000 miles for less than $12,000. My car is also a GT without the V8, so I don't mind.
For half the video he was acting like an adult but then at 9:20 you could literally see him turn into a little kid again. That's the power of a good car :)
I liked the way this one looked the best of the retro ones, by 2014 they got a little too puffy for my liking...07-08 felt more pure retro. The 2015 really catches my eye tho, and really feels a lot better inside. Still, I'd like to have one of these to capture that moment in car throwback design
Great review man! Been thinking about buying one of these, nice to see a thorough review of all aspects of it. The smile on your face when you hit the gas says it all!
Next time I see someone booking it at 80 mph in a Mustang GT on snowy roads in the middle of winter talking excitedly while wildly gesticulating in absolute joy as if he's talking to someone next to him but as far as I can tell there is no one else in the vehicle I will give them the benefit of the doubt
I could be wrong, but I don't think there's a problem with the dye on that drivers seat. To me, it looks to need a thorough cleaning by a competent detailer.
I bought a 2007 V6 premium convertible Torch Red color for $2900 with 219k miles about a month ago. Love it, fun car to drive still turns heads, the style seems to really hold up.
you should review the new 2015 challenger, any model. its a huge step up for the previous model. the v6 interior alone is better than the ecoboost and gt interior
Looking to get this 2005 mustang gt I found for a steal. However, the new 2016 v6 mustang pushes out the same power as the old mustang gt, which one should I go for?
the v6 will lose its value quickly while the GT will maintain it for a bit longer. I have an 05 GT & the 05-09 body style is just beautiful in my opinion. If you're into retro-looking or classic american muscle vehicles, the 2005-2009 GT is the one you should go for.
Just got a 2008 mustang Gt (same body style as a 2005 Gt) and honestly I love it. It looks so damn good. The newer v6 has 40 less ft pds of torque so the older Gt should still be able to beat it. And like someone mentioned above, that v6 will be worth close to nothing in a couple years. Take in mind though that the gas mileage will be absolutely horrible for the GT.
Have a 2005 Convertible GT in Performance White. Bought it in 2018 with 36 k for 10k. Stole it and a manual. Runs and drives like top. It has 55 k now and great car. It has the Eddie Murphy Raw Red leather interior
2005-2009 same body style, Colors in paint vary within the years, Oem wheels vary as well depending on what package the mustang is, The 09 is the 45th anniversary.
I absolutely love mine, but, most the negative points you mention are definitely warranted. I do hope I'll run across an ecoboost stang at the light one day, I had some fun on the highway with one, and I do think my GT is pretty much on par stock for stock. I wonder if you watched my 05 mustang GT review or not, that fanboyism sure is contagious! Hahaha!
It would be a great daily for sure! Fun... But, the '14 GT's are the best looking "current mustangs" out there IMHO. (next to the 05-09 body-style of-course!)
This body style is one of my favorites. The new generation is superior in every way on paper, but lacks the masculine presence of this body style. Also, not being a fastback, you can probably fit adults in the back.
I didn't care for this review. I own a 2008 GT, the interior quality comments: you're comparing to your 2015. Also, you know that Ford expects us to customize these, so you should've reflected that in the comments. The steering wheel comment, you do know that the 60's wheels weren't that comfortable, right? I think the S197s are perfect. They are simple, raw and look aggressive...out of the box. The S197s, you can take apart and put back together again as easily as the 60s stangs what other car can you really say that about?
He never said it was a deal breaker, and he never said anything bad. He simply made an objective statement. Ford interiors ARE cheap. If that hurts your feelings then I don't know what to tell you.
@@GoatyHerps Yup. I have an '03 Mach 1. Interior is cheap as hell, but I don't care. It's fine. It works and it's not crumbling to pieces. I didn't buy it because I'm looking for luxury.
Good video! Thanks for shining light on the 4.6 sohc, friend. That's the engine of my childhood. It is still very good. I am considering one now, so thanks for this recent video!
Seriously guys, stop hating on Mustang. My dad owns a Mustang and I've ridden in it and it's personally better then a Camaro. There's a reason why my dad had bought 23+ Mustangs.
As an owner, I agree with the cheap feel of the hard plastic(sad fact, there's still a bunch of it in the 2015+ Mustang). But if it is breakable, my 2006 has yet to have any interior hard plastic be "broken"(other than the backseat access latches, which break like 2 days after you use them). Vents still look fine. And the buttons all still do what they're supposed to do. The "leather" inserts on the doors though... they go on all these cars. You can see that starting to happen in this video. Thanks for taking the time to record this!
MrBasinator depends where you live. If you live in the middle of the mountains and have a lot of hills to drive up, a high torque short wheelbase RWD is your worst option
You know what's the most disappointing?7 years later in 2014 they couldn't come up with a better interior,i bought a 2014 and looks like shit, not a single thing changed from 2007..maybe steering wheel a little, everything else -the same.
Either you don't actually own a 14 or you're massively exaggerating, because the entire interior was redone for 2010, and it's much better quality than this older 07 model.
John Snyder they claim the mustang is a special car for Ford, and the interior looks 90% like an F150,why can't they make a nice interior just for the mustang? the front seat already makes noise when taking turns, the leather moves on the seat, well i'm not going to get into this because i only bought this car for its engine so i'm not going to complain, but the interior is by no means unique .
love the review but its a v8 ford mustang, you shouldn't drive it if you use 9-3 to drive. its also got a decent amount of trunk space for being a sports car.
Got the CS version of this exact same car because I wanted practice driving a stick that gives you no help at all (no hill assist, no automatic rev matching, it's all your responsibility) and because I wanted a rear-wheel drive vehicle that pushes me down the road rather than drags me up it; instead I get stopped by people from old grandmas in parking lots to teens at a light to cops complimenting my GT/CS which is hella embarrassing

so they have pads on everything you touch, and the plastic is of the time.
i can also tell you from experience the 9/3 position works since its plastic, it gives and after a 6 hour drive its still comfortable.
i am a little biased but i sense you had preconceived notions before you got into the seat
its a mustang noone cares about the interior quality :P
+d4v3tm pretty much.
Noone?
Thats true
It's just fine he's been in too many luxury cars.
I do. It's funny I was introduced to the 15 and when I saw 14 and older I wanted nothing to do with them because how ugly they looked. Now I am in love with the retro styled gauges and the interior design
...Am I the only one who noticed the plastic caliper covers?
First thing I noticed ! Spied some rice on the Pony !
i was distracted by the rusted rotor.
how do you a review and not comment on that?
***** all rotors have rust in wet conditions. Its a hunk of iron.
Good_Lord They kind of serve a purpose. They keep the dust off your rims very very well. I'd never put them on mine but not completely useless
Proud owner of a 2006 Mustang GT Deluxe.
does the car handle well ?
angel flores I don't usually try to get to the bottom of my cars handling, but I suppose it does. It may not handle (of course to the new generation Mustang since they're now built with independent rear axles). I've never had performance problems though.
+Rosendo Ernesto Rendon Jr Thanks a lot for the reply and information man! I'm looking at one online right now and wanted to know an owner's perspective.
Is it me or is there a dent on the front bumper?
There is definitely a dent lol
Yep this car belongs in car scrap yard
ʝ αℊ⋒αr123987ჯ Give me a break you probably drive a busted minivan.
@@jaguar123987x wait read ur comment
You are most assuredly not on the front bumper.
Just got a 2005 gt
Custom piping. Bigger brakes. Cold air intake. Injectors. Mufflers. Cats. Long tube headers
Custom tune
60k miles, Manuel, leather interior 💪🏼 I love her so much
Nice, but just curious why you have bigger injectors? You haven't done anything that needs them to provide more fuel than stock injectors can handle. Are you planning to boost it or something?
Just got a 2008 V6 premium Mustang for 10,000. Best car ever.
That's is a rip off unless it's in perfect condition with less than 25k miles. U can get a nice GT with under 70K miles
For under 10K
Phillip Berk No offense, but you couldn't be more wrong. Believe me, I wanted a GT, but I couldn't find one in good condition with under 100,000 miles for less than $12,000. My car is also a GT without the V8, so I don't mind.
Ripa moramee trust me. I have had 2, an 06 and an 09, I got my 81k miles 09 GT 5spd for 8700, and my 06 with 125k miles for 6300.
got my 05 Gt with 60k for 6700
Yunus Raiman That's because it's an 05.
07-08? They are the same body from 05-09
Great review man! Been thinking about buying one of these, nice to see a thorough review of all aspects of it. The smile on your face when you hit the gas says it all!
One thing I have noticed is (being modest) from 2009 or so forward, car interiors have been bumping up in quality each year it seems.
Jesus, in Germany I'd have to pay at least 10k for that :(
whats up everybody, surruuuuurururururuuruwwrrrrrrrrr x fan here
How does he say it that fast lol?!?!
What's up guys, superdupereggsfan here!
Getting a 06 GT tomorrow🤤 has the same interior and 88k miles, I can’t wait!!
How much? $$$
my friend just bought a Mustang!! Im so jealous!
This is one of the better Reviews which "nailed" the true spirit why you are driving a New Age Mustang..
The interior is no where near as bad as this guy says . Serves it's purpose and both my 2007 and 2008 are quiet when driving.
Nicely done sir. Black GT on a snowy day. You further proved that these are fun cars. It won't be long before it finds a home.
6:08 Who cares about interior quality, a Mustang is a Mustang, that's all that matters
Its unheard of for an 18 year old ford to look this good. Really good design. God.
Wish Ford would get the 4.6l and make rework it to make like 390hp from factory. I prefer the 4.6 for sound but coyote cannot be beat for power
Just got one today an 07 and I love it.
you should review the new 2015 challenger, any model. its a huge step up for the previous model. the v6 interior alone is better than the ecoboost and gt interior
Lmao, you have jokes.
What's wrong with women's rights? Everyone is created equal my friend.
Jake From State lmao old but gold
“Shaker 5000 “was mind blowing ! Bass loud ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Same radio as my 2002 explorer 😂😂
Illuminati confirmed
Same stereo as my dads 2005 f150 lol
Oh ford. They use to be so,bad
@@JohnDoe-xu7xu Almost every manufacturer does that. GM is especially bad.
I love my 08 mustang coolest car I have owned.Cant part with it.Thank u for the info.
Looking to get this 2005 mustang gt I found for a steal. However, the new 2016 v6 mustang pushes out the same power as the old mustang gt, which one should I go for?
old mustang for sure
TheGoldenSubway I was thinking the same. Old look of the mustangs are sexy
+Nathan Pelayo Yes they are, and are probably easier to work on
the v6 will lose its value quickly while the GT will maintain it for a bit longer.
The back seats are surprisingly comfortable I’m 6ft 290 and I fit just fine
please test stock version not sports or tuning
Have a 2005 Convertible GT in Performance White. Bought it in 2018 with 36 k for 10k. Stole it and a manual. Runs and drives like top. It has 55 k now and great car. It has the Eddie Murphy Raw Red leather interior
It’s been modified it’s got the blacked out pony emblem and blacked out lights 😂
1 or 2 suit cases nothing crazy of course it's a performance car not a truck
Is there a huge difference in the 2005 mustang GT and the 2008-09?
Looks will be almost the same. A few variations in paint colors. Gauge cluster might be a little different.
09's are the only model with the glass roof
2005-2009 same body style,
Colors in paint vary within the years,
Oem wheels vary as well depending on what package the mustang is,
The 09 is the 45th anniversary.
It's all the same.
Age lol
i bought a 2007 gt because of this video and i love my car !!
"This car in particular comes with rusted floor plans" lol
You’re rusted I guess
Don't forget the pushed-in front bumper cover at 1:18.
Hahaha!
Why an ecoboost?
Would buy an 14 GT :)
It would be a great daily for sure! Fun... But, the '14 GT's are the best looking "current mustangs" out there IMHO. (next to the 05-09 body-style of-course!)
The Dutch Texan i just watched the review of yours lol
Thanks for watching Dr Dra Dra!
This body style is one of my favorites. The new generation is superior in every way on paper, but lacks the masculine presence of this body style. Also, not being a fastback, you can probably fit adults in the back.
You need to drive one that's tuned a huge difference
I swear you have a review for every car I've searched for today and I've searched like 30 cars...
Camaros,Corvette ,challenger.Transam
He never said it was a deal breaker, and he never said anything bad. He simply made an objective statement. Ford interiors ARE cheap. If that hurts your feelings then I don't know what to tell you.
@@GoatyHerps Yup. I have an '03 Mach 1. Interior is cheap as hell, but I don't care. It's fine. It works and it's not crumbling to pieces. I didn't buy it because I'm looking for luxury.
Idc what people say. This is literally my dream car 🚗💨🔥❤️
please! do an 07 bmw 335i !! please!!
Luv this guy's laugh when he is on throttle! Makes me want to buy one..
You should really change that Harrison Auto Sales shot. That sign photo looks grimy as shit. Not a good impression.
Those rims are hideous in my opinion. I don't like the sunken in look.
They're 5 spoke classic muscle style rims.
its called offset and I agree these wheels are ugly but negative offset looks good
why you no like the fat lip!?
Nikomak99 Ya but I don't think they fit well with that generation
+SteveOTheMan16 deep dish wheels always look good on mustangs an other cars.
get better taste.
Doesnt wanna pull bc its winter out with summer tires
Matt: 😄😂😄😄😂😂😄 pulls hardd
Why do people drive these cars in the snow I would cry if my dad drove his challenger in the snow
people dont have money for another car
Daily drivers. And so what people drive it in the snow? What's wrong with it?
MrBasinator Road salt/Rust. Getting stuck/sliding. Can't accelerate or stop as well.
+Stas G. Yeah, but you have the same problem when you're driving an Audi a4 as a daily or an S60 :). Just buy winter tires.
MrBasinator depends where you live. If you live in the middle of the mountains and have a lot of hills to drive up, a high torque short wheelbase RWD is your worst option
Love all your intro music...watch all your vids as well and im huge mustang fan.....keep um coming...
quality don't matter what matters is the way it runs
Just bought one today and it has 350hp to wheels and it’s very fun to drive
You know what's the most disappointing?7 years later in 2014 they couldn't come up with a better interior,i bought a 2014 and looks like shit, not a single thing changed from 2007..maybe steering wheel a little, everything else -the same.
they probably didn't care about the 2014 model haha they were paying attention towards the 2015 models
I know right? Do you have a '15?
Either you don't actually own a 14 or you're massively exaggerating, because the entire interior was redone for 2010, and it's much better quality than this older 07 model.
What are you talking about ? I've owned both models and you are so far off. the interiors are night and day difference.
This mustang with the Raxium gen 5 tailight are absolutely beautiful
love the review but its a v8 ford mustang, you shouldn't drive it if you use 9-3 to drive. its also got a decent amount of trunk space for being a sports car.
Not.A.Fucking.Sports.Car
+Justin Whitcomb Lol whatever you say. I know different
+Nina Balch if you did you would have called it a muscle car
+Justin Whitcomb yes it's a muscle car. I'm not that dumb but it's also not a car thats purpose is to take a family to a vacation.
+Nina Balch obviously you don't
Got the CS version of this exact same car because I wanted practice driving a stick that gives you no help at all (no hill assist, no automatic rev matching, it's all your responsibility) and because I wanted a rear-wheel drive vehicle that pushes me down the road rather than drags me up it; instead I get stopped by people from old grandmas in parking lots to teens at a light to cops complimenting my GT/CS which is hella embarrassing
just realized that i never see black people driving mustangs
or subaru or volkswagen
I've never heard of someone who pays attention to what cars black people drive
Harrison Stone well now you have
***** thats whats up, they're nice cars. i was just making a personal oberservation
observation* lol... sorry I been drankinnnnn
