  • Michael Jai White has the skills, but does he have the grit to survive the mean streets of “Blood and Bone?”
    On this episode of This is CineMMA, the MMA Fighting movie review crew break out of the clink to follow the adventures of Bone (White), a man on a mission who batters and bruises his way through L.A.’s underground fight scene while crossing paths with real-life combat sports stars Kimbo Slice, Gina Carano, and Bob Sapp. Featuring plenty of bloody battles-and some very, very NSFW language-this one ain’t for the faint of heart.
    Alexander K. Lee, Jed Meshew, and E. Casey Leydon channel their inner “Just Bleed Guy” as they marvel at White’s dazzling martial arts skills, pick out some of the nastiest looking moves in the movie, and try to make heads or tails of some truly befuddling dialogue choices.
    How would Bone fare in the #UFC? Is Eamonn Walker a better villain than Conor McGregor? And is it really possible to jump in the air and kick four people at once?
    Dig into Blood and Bone with us for the answers to these questions and more

    I love how I can always rely on the mmafighting crew to have the kinds of MMA convos me and my friends would have after a few drinks, only much better executed and well-informed. More content like this please.

    Personally, I don't think so. I think he's very skilled and not a fake tough guy, but there's a difference between someone who practices and studies every day and someone putting in the hard rounds, going through actually training regiments and most importantly someone that actually competes. Imagine a video game. We all know that one guy that's amazing at a game. But what would happen if they go against a legit pro player?

      Wow very well said I myself said he’d be a champ and then realized I gotta look more into this but you made some great points I think maybe if he was able to wrestle he could’ve actually fought and who knows but I do agree with you that you need to be into this full time but he’s interesting a lot of martial arts actors who are real but not fighters but MJW could most probably get in there

  • @gdarippa69

    Short answer: No, MJW wouldn’t even make the Top 15 at 85, 205 or Heavyweight

    One of my all time favorite movies, somewhat ironically. But I rewatched it so many times with my buddies in college that we know like every line.
    “I don’t like the company you keep, Mr. Bone.”
    “Neither do I”
    😂😂

    It's hard to tell if Michael Jai White could've been a UFC fighter, simply because he has absolutely no real life competition fight footage...
    Same thing for Bruce Lee, absolutely no real life combat fight footage to tell rather or not he would've succeeded in real competition...
    Can't say the same thing about Chuck Norris because he actually fought in real life competition.
    Chuck Norris was actually a world champion in Karate contests...
    Don "The Dragon" Wilson was another real life competition fighter that turned Hollywood acter, he would've faired well in the UFC in real life...

    People think having skills is the only thing thats needed to be champion in MMA. Without having a good chin and the ability to endure pain from strikes, its completely baseless to say someone being a champion without being tested at high level competition. As people also claim Bruce Lee could be a champion, thats also baseless.

  • @kingrabbit101
    @kingrabbit101 22 дня назад +3

    This a joke right? Jai white? He has skills but come on.

    • @timurjack8773
      @timurjack8773 21 день назад +1

      I agree, skills alone is not enough. Having a good chin, stamina and having a good fight IQ is also important for being a champion, without testing those at high level, its baseless to say that. Same thing with Bruce Lee being a champ, thats baseless too.

    Jed wearing either a fencing shirt or an unbuttoned bowtie shirt. I prefer to imagine a samurai combo, if Jiri Prohascka was forced to dress in modern style.

      Elite fighters said that about uriah hall. And faber(in ufc).Justin gaethje. And cm punk lol. Difference between movie skills and putting them to practice in the cage under the lights. If pro fighters that have experience and dedicated their life to it cant do. I doubt someone who never has fought could. And if u think that then you think he would beat jon jones because that’d be his weight class most likely.

    • @thegoat525
      @thegoat525 22 дня назад +1

      @@kingrabbit101 obviously he’s older than jon, different era, you don’t think it’s possible he could have beaten a one dimensional chuck? If he pursued professional fighting?

    • @kingrabbit101
      @kingrabbit101 22 дня назад +1

      @@thegoat525 i mean with that logic tho anyone “could” have been champ if they started training when they were young and this and that. But the movie they’re talking about is 09 i think. So in 09 job or chick or tito would probably ko him. He’s a karate guy. Out of alllllll the 10th level 18 stripe guys that have tried only two have had real success in mma. And they also trained other skill sets to round their game out. He has skills no doubt. And chuck lidell wasnt one dimensional. He looked that way because he loved kickboxing and had a career in it before mma. But he was also a really great wrestler in college. Wrestling all 4 years and won all American
