Ok, so I have an idea for a rags to riches. What if you host different parties and try to get gold and sell the rewards for money? As you get more money you can host more expensive parties with better prizes.
And actually you can make pretty good money by throwing parties. When you get gold on an incognito party, you get a 12000 simoleons jungle gym. It is kind of crazy!
tbh, I think this is one of Lilsimsie's most realistic houses so far. With the unmatched furniture and style, it seems like a house that got passed down, so the style added up through the generations. Or even if this is a one-generation household, it still makes sense. You don't buy all the furniture at once, plus, in-trend furniture changes every single year, month even.
2024 has had SUCH good packs; crystal creations is my number one staple for fancy builds; every single infant uses the story book nursury crib; and most recently life and death has had so many swatches in my faviorate color! (emerald green)
I didn’t care for cozy kitsch as much as I thought I would, but you made it look so good here. Please do this again for different years, this was very fun!
simsie, you should do a total "self indulgent" build for the new year!! don't care about the gallery, the number of packs, the costs, just build whatever's most fun for yourself! you've had a long year, you shouldn't have to worry about everyone else at the very end of it
I absolutely adore this build!! It is so different from what you'd normally make and I love all the colors and tiles going together!! I always love to see you build a little out of your comfort zone and this just looks so cute!!!!!

I'd love it if you repeated this idea with other years. I don't think I'd get bored of it if you decided to do one from every single year the Sims 4 has been off. If you wanted a challenge you could cap off the series by building something using every single pack with build or buy ever released
I wish the Sims had consistent colour swatches. A true black a true white and then update those swatches across every the entire game. Almost all the different packs/kits have black, grey and white swatches but not all of them match each other is wild
(Around 03:00-05:00-ish) So far this house reminds me soooo much of the sims 2 in terms of ascetic and lay out etc. It is very reminiscent of the 2000’s sims 2 houses you could find like around Don Latario’s house back in the day. Especially with that terracotta tile and carpet in the bedroom
the primary bedroom is giving "what if the golden girls were witches" and I wouldn't have put those things together myself but I'm glad someone else did because it's a fantastic vibe
Not only would using packs from different years be a fun challenge, but it would also be a good exploration of how design styles have changed over the years as trends come and go!
As Sims players, we have the most random favourite things. A favourite low lying plant, a favourite circular rug-specifically circular!- maybe our favourite gravestone....

This made me realize how much I use Cozy Bistro and Riviera Retreat. The tiles, wallpaper, and lights from both of those packs are staples in my build style.
I honestly think that EA ran out of ideas for packs because of the Life and Death Pack. It comes with fun furniture and clothing, but honestly $40.00 to collect souls in a game is not worth it. Yes, the world is cool, the build items are cool, but honestly can there be a bit more? I think EA should make a hotel pack. Personally, that would be fun for me. Anyways, I loved the build, great as always!
Collecting souls is like the least interesting thing the pack gives tbh. the tarot deck collection, the souls journey and life goals, reincarnation, wills and heirlooms, funerals, the list of cool stuff the pack adds is quite long as far as useful gameplay goes. The career part of it is cute, but by far the least useful gameplay wise as far as mechanics it adds, and collecting the little soul essence is in the same boat. The pack is well worth the price though for the amount of actually useful gameplay features it adds. its by far the most dense pack we've seen from them in quite a while, so its a bit strange to say it "is just cool, but needs more".
With the 2 new worlds this year alone, I wish lilsimsie does a tier/rank list of all the worlds. Personally, worlds have become my biggest consideration when figuring out which pack to buy next, so it'd be really useful to see the opinion of someone who has all the worlds already.
also for a small house challenge you could do a using ONLY one item from each pack. like if you choose the artist easel from the new pack, you can ONLY use that, and nothing else from the pack (but you can place the item as much as you need!)
I love every build that isn't a speedbuild because I can't watch speedbuilds and every time I see a good build and I start watching it, just to find out I can't because it's a speedbuild, I am devastated. So I am very happy that this one isn't
Honestly I haven’t been able to play the sims 4 in like 2 years because of my old broken laptop but this is making me feel fine about missing out because of how much stuff there is for me to save money on lol The off the grid series is giving me MAD FOMO though 😢
it would be cool if you picked a group of packs like this and did the challenge of “one thing from every pack” BUT from separately on build and buy. like you have to use one thing in build mode (wallpaper, fences, doors etc) AND THEN you have to pick one more thing from buy mode!

I also watched Devon Bumpkin and I saw him use the Castle Estate flooring for ceiling tiles. And some of the walls in CE can be used for the pool.
