That dual SIM feature is so nice. I go to a ton of super remote oil and gas sites, and often, only one carrier services the general region. Autoswapping will be extremely convenient, if it's actually implemented in Android 14.

The pixel is the only phone I've ever owned where the notification shade is accessible on the lock screen. A thief can steal and put your phone on airplane mode without unlocking it.
My ZTE Blade V10 Vita from 2019 running near stock android 9 is also like this but it's a cheap and old phone so I don't really have to worry about it getting stolen.
literally every phone lets you turn it off without a passcode. even Samsung, which they try to lock it out but you can just force shut down. just because you can enable airplane mode from the lock screen won't make your phone more or less thief proof.
Finally we're getting some of the features from one UI. One UI is great but the double apps and the way the animations are not as smooth as pixel UI is what's keeping me with Google.
Why would you use both? Yes there are two different messaging apps, but you choose one: Why would you go back and use the other in this example or any example really?

This video made me realize how important the open source nature of Android is. The vast majority of features in this video and I mean, around 90% of them, are available in iOS or other Android distributions such as OneUI, this video made me realize how much third party companies actually keep pushing android forward with new and exciting features. I wonder how different the smartphone space today would be if android was closed source and companies such as Samsung, OnePlus, Xiaomi or Nothing had to develop and maintain their own OS. i don't mean to bash on google for being late on adding features,, they're the ones maintaining the foundations of the OS after all, but still, it's interesting to see how far android has come because of its open source nature.
I don't know if they do do this, but when they do every Android update they should give you a bunch of new wallpapers and allow you to customise your icons more than you can.
No hate on the video, good work at highlighting the new features and UI, but i love how android users hate on apple and iOS for bringing "Simple features" extremely late, but they are now finally bringing flash notifications when apple has had it for years, as well as the select photos for certain apps, apple has also had that for years now, the speaker switcher, apple has had that since airplay roughly back in 2017. And the whole health app and settings, and much more.
I'm so sad about the 32 bit apps. When I get a nostalgia kick and redownload an app from my childhood and it's not compatible, that's gonna suck. Hopefully someone makes a magisk module to fix this issue.
I read on Reddit that Magisk/Root isn't working for Android 14 yet so yeah I'm definitely staying away from it because unfortunately I've learned the hard way a few times from messing with Developer Previews and Betas. Since I only have my Google Pixel 6 I'm not installing anything like that on it until it's Stable Release and sometimes even then I don't Update to it right away I like to wait and see if the Official Release has any major Bugs before I Update to it. I'm planning on getting a cheaper Pixel a Series Phone when I get Working at this New Job soon and I'll use that for installing Developer Previews or Betas or different Versions of Android because installing them can be fun but not on your daily Device. I've been very happy with Android 13 on my Google Pixel 6 it's been very Smooth and the Battery life has been great unlike Android 12 Android 12 was horrible on the Google Pixel 6 but Android 13 made the Google Pixel 6 what it was supposed to be from the start a reliable Flagship Phone and hopefully Android 14 will do the same with even more Features.

There are many other older games many of which don't receive updates anymore and are likely to be 32bit only, like Gravity Guy if i'm not mistaken.

Many features of android 14 are already in Android 13.1 . I guess you should have compared it with Android 13.1 . Example that back gesture icon, fingerprint image etc. These are in Android 13.1 already.
Android share is _not_ separate to OEM manufacturers though. Nearby sharing is a Google play feature, and no manufacturer has a special sharing feature.
They are technically considered cool suprises and innovative the thing is Samsung like did most of them 2 years ago 😂 so they look minor and insignificant if Android was closed source like IOS no company would've had their skin or OS so Android would look advanced especially when the competitor is the backward IOS 😅🤣

The disabling duplicated apps is because it may not do what you want or want. For example settings would just be the same app, and Google apps use device account to login with Google, and they already have multi-account support.

I have been beta testing Android 14 for a while now on my secondary device (Pixel 6a). The one thing I have yet to see fixed and has needed fixing for years is the digital clock widget. The At-a-glance widget shows the day and date and you cannot amend that widget to not show the day and date. Now, add the digital clock widget to the same home screen and what does it show? That's right, the day and date and there is NO WAY to remove it. Now using the digital clock widget on the same home screen as the At-a-glance widget results in having the day and date on the same home screen TWICE, with NO WAY TO REMOVE EITHER ONE OF THEM! I have been complaining to Google about this for years and they have STILL not fixed it! They are about to release Android 14 and this same issue will still be plaguing people! What do we have to do to get Google to fix this!? It's so FRUSTRATING!!!
I hope webcam becomes a thing in 14 final release, I can reuse my old device (thats still going to have support until 15) and breathe new life into it as I move over to the Pixel ecosystem when I get my new device (waiting on pixel 8 + watch 2 launch).

AV1 can make it less efficient if you've device doesn't have hardware AV1 decoding, depending on the decoder.

There are many apps which aren't updated since android 5.1 or lower and I find it absolutely bonkers that Google is blocking it.

Android 14 must improve the desktop mode. Even ipad has stage manager now. So no excuse for Android to lag in that respect
