Hi, I am hoping you could help me regarding my current situation. I am an international student moving to the US to study as a student-athlete. I play in the 4th amateur league in Germany. I am joining a D1/D2 Juco this summer (probably a medium good soccer program). I am pursuing a Bachelor’s in Psychology and a Master degree in Sports Psychology. My main goal is high academic education and using my sport to make that affordable.
I am aiming at getting into a top 30 universities after the two years at a community college. My question is how easy ist that - as all top unis are NCAA D1. Obviously I won’t be able to move on an athletic scholarship as my level is not that high. Can I transfer with a good GPA and extracurriculars. In order of that covering my costs with an academic scholarship? Or is my academic level restricted due to not being elite in the sport I am playing.
If you are thinking of D3, do you think their academic level is comparable to the Ivy League schools?
An honest response would help me a lot. Thanks in advance!
