The BEST dashcam review on RUclips. Well spoken, clear, precise and to the point! American viewers note that the "Supercheap auto" brand is marketed in the States at autoparts retailers under MANY different brands, but it is basically the cheapbrand high definition cam around 70 to 110 bucks U.S. in most stores. Would love to see a review of MORE FRONT N BACK Cams. Great review! Cheers
Just what i was looking for, a dash cam review, I would also like to see a follow up on how these cams stand up to Australias extreme heat, perhaps go back to the units in a few months and see if there are any issues with heat or uv light damaging the cameras.
I have the supa cheap auto I use in my work vehicle. Had it for over 2y it has been punished from one car to another been dropped in several occasions, I don't always park under cover my clip mount broke as well fixed it with supa glue and hasn't broke or come apart. Still works well every few months you just need to delete sd card as it becomes full no sun damage has stood the test of time has g meter and parking impact sensor. U can buy them when they are on special for $55. In a nutshell highly recommended 5⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I drive for a living, and I have run a Navman dash cam for the last 4 years, it has good quality 1080 video, gps speed, location, g forces, etc., when people accused you of doing something wrong, video does not lie, saved me on many occasions, Navman worth the money.
Cool. I like the Navman which has a newer quad core processor and new voice too. But those notifications. RRP is NZ$349 in New Zealand. My Toyota car has a Blackvue DR900S 2-CH dash cam, but for trips across the country flying to Auckland or the South Island and hiring a car, Navman would be good as it also has a good GPS even though Navman is notorious for trying to take you off the main road and onto back roads.
First. Thank you very much for doing the dash-cam comparison. As Car Reviewers, i can't think of anyone more appropriate , perhaps except Long Haul Semi Trailer & Logistics Drivers. Would love to see 'CarsGuide' do these reviews on at least an annual basis. As for my choice. I'd be prepared to buy even higher tech, based on the old "You (largely) get what you pay for". Happy & Covid Free NY & 2021.
Were there any day cams these days with higher resolution? I had a cheapie years ago with 1440p resolution, though I ran it at 2560x1080 to save a little vertical size. It's still in my ex wife's car and I'm looking to buy a new cam for my car.
The Sweet Spot for a good dash cam is between about $170 and $350 Max Like 70mai's A510 or A810 or DDPAI's N5 Dual DashCams As of 2024 you want f1.4 to f1.6 Aprature any less open f1.8 f2.2 etc will get a lot less light and detail. 120 to 180 Degrees of Wide Angle. Sony Starvis2 Sensor. At least 2K aka 1440p if not 4K Resolution 1080p just is not good enough! WDR (Hardware HDR aka True Wide Dynamic Range!) * HDR is Software/Digital WDR it uses processing after the fact too enhance the quality of the Video or Photo instead of pure hardware and firmware! CPL Filter to reduce Glear and Reflections. Also even if 3rd party use an OBD Port for DashCam Power for Security Mode over Hardwire in as it can detect and protect battery from going flat!
About to pull the trigger on a 322GW, but was tossing between going for a 422/522 with 1440p. Most reviewers say 1080p@60fps over 1440p@30fps anyways. *I feel the SCA camera would be fine for 99% of incidents of proving a dispute between he said she said, and I'll prob pickup something like that for my work truck.
Great review , can you do a review on some of the High End Dash Cams , ie: Garmin range . You mentioned Navman Micam 8GB SD card , how many approximate hours of driving would equate to this and is it simple to transfer onto a Laptop
Jeepers, why include a totally useless 45- degree angle product, when, as you said, there's hundreds of options. That just seems dumb and a waste of everybody's time

@@robertceroli3512 For that price it sounds good bang for buck.
Really great review. A well-spoken Australian with clear and concise expression and clarity. I'm on board.

Why not include blackvue dashcams?
cause they don't know what they're doing
@@row0111 Blackvue or the reviewer ?

Is the Blackvue DR900S any good?

Can you do a new video for the newer models?
Hi Mate, thanks for the video! It is great! Just wondering if any of them had audio recording as well?
i foud mine on ebay $ 33 works 100% had it 3 years
Off topic but When are you guys testing the new GWM cannon???
I couldn't make out any number plates

For Navman, can't you turn the sound off?

I see you must live at Lapstone as with the footage and driving down the M4 to Penrith and emu plains. Also driving down Mitchell's Pass at night.
Perfect place to test with the road lighting types too
Beautiful part of Australia...
where can I buy a nav?man dash cam in the US, I checked their website is says under construction so it is temporary and available
Great job 👏
how do you permanently turn off traffic alerts
I own the Supercheap camera and it lives up to its name. Rubbish
Ta mate, but ya should of cleaned your windscreen inside and out before testing the dash cams. Good onya.
where are the Blackvue and Vantrue........ By far the best cameras ever compared on your videos
Hi Guys,
Please review pajero shogun.
Thank you.
hai cars guide can you guys do a review on haval h2 base model
Had Navman gps and dash cam. Both only lasted 2 years.
Picked up navman mv140 from jbhifi $73 on special, it's very good
I would go for night vision
I would like to know who put a thumb down and why?
They're all terrible for the money. Much better options for less and from better supported brands.
0:27 spectra*
Great video tks.. Sub for sure. 👍
9:33 🤣🤣🤣
I go through that same stop sign on a regular basis 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Just save yourself the drama with these very ordinary cameras and just buy a Blackvue 750/900, don’t know why you’d even bother with these
Because they're like $600 ?
And that's why I bought Thinkware from Korea
Why would I even buy one in Australia?
Jeepers, why include a totally useless 45- degree angle product, when, as you said, there's hundreds of options. That just seems dumb and a waste of everybody's time
I wonder if the Lanmodo at 45° allows better numberplate recognition.
Summary:
Nextbase = Trash
Navman = Okish
Supercheap = Trash
Lanmodo = Worse than trash
Do yourself a favour and get a Thinkware U1000
